I totally love LO23 Dart and BO29 Barracuda Super Stocks. These beasts are the realm of the drag racing golden era. Awesome video, Mr. 4-speed and McCandless Antique Auto! Thank you🙏
Herb "Mr McCandless" I simply want to say thank you for being you. I raced Chevys and I was poor but I hated Mopar they could beat me. Then I broke and was out. I picked up a rod after one run in 1969 in my Chevy Rat it laying out on the track!!!!!!!! What you did was common sense and practical but so few of us back in the day did it or thought about it the same way. I have watched the videos and laugh, and smile and nod in agreement. God Bless You, Dennis
Nicely done Herb ! Who knew you could make big money having so much fun, making the Chevy and Ford guys throw pitty partys to cry on one another's shoulders. 💪👍💪😋
I can’t believe I had a real ‘68 BO23 (got it 3rd hand in 1971. I really can’t believe I sold it 75-77. Mine had a Wiand tunnel ram and 2 Doninators. Went 9.57 at 143 in 72. I actually bought it to run AHRA GT-2 in 72 at 8/lbs per inch. It really didn’t card for the extra 430 lbs in the trunk 😂
The way I see it, was Chrysler gave certain drag teams a clean slate. What can you do with it, and at the same time shared their research. I've seen many articles stating they were crudely built off site. I'll argue that no manufacturer has even come close to what Mopar produced back in the day.
Very interesting and fascinating! I'd love to drive one of these HEMI beasts down the dragstrip! That would be a dream come true.
