Day 3 of posting a new video every day in December!! Today we did a fun project that we have wanted to do for months - we turned a broken basketball decoration into a planter! Complete with a hoop stand for hanging :) We hope you enjoy doing a creative dumpster DIY with us today and we look forward to seeing you again tomorrow! Movin' On!
The basketball was part of a school trophy. I worked in a school for 16 yrs. That's a broken state trophy for sure. Edited to add: the basketball set on a wooden base about 8 or 10 inches tall. The wooden part would have all the info on the win and year. Must have gotten broken so was discarded and a student got it. Lol 🤣 Schools usually send them off to be refurbished for other trophies 🏆 otherwise schools would be overrun with them year after year. 😊
Nice job!! That basketball planter is pretty spectacular. Using the hoop was a stroke of genius! And, more importantly, it's BONES approved. You guys are pretty awesome... so far, so good with your video a day goal. The commentary... chefs kiss!! ❤
Just use very little amount of water once a week since there are no holes!!😮 Before watering stick your finger half way in the soil to check if water is needed!!!🙏❤️
You 2 are so cute together and funny as heck. Just love the every day videos and the trash to fabulous plant decor is lovely. Glad you took Bones into consideration when getting the plant. Can't wait to see what's happening tomorrow. 😊😊😊😊
I usually ooen the roots at the bottom. And your beautiful esthetically pleasing plant looks great in the basket ball. Just don't overwater that kills plants faster than underwatering. I learned when I was young the hard way. Lots of plant loss. I chuckled through most of this video. I enjoy you both so much thank you for talking us plant shopping. Give a touch of water tomorrow and leave it alone for a week.and for doing this everyday this month. Great trash planter, I'd buy one if I could find one!
Дякую вам любі друзі за прекрасне відео за хороший настрій за сонечко якого в нас давненько не було дай Боже нам усім миру здоров’я та перемоги над ворогом як зовнішні так і внутрішні❤
Try Spider plants. They are practically ironclad. Once they are root bound, they will put out arms that flower & these arms will grow roots & make an army of new spider plants. They can be grown outside but will die if there is a freeze. In Florida, they will take over the garden.
I forgot to say if u are going to put any kind of plant inside u have to make a few holes 🕳️ on the bottom of it for drainage. Kelly I must say u look vy pretty today. 🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍👵🏼👵🏼👵🏼
You two are so cute together! And you work well together but that comes from the love you have for each other and the project idea y'all is wonderful, like to see you guys do another kind of project together again in the future! Thanks so much for all the work that goes into putting videos out for us.. much love to y'all from Fancy Gap Virginia!
I’m so glad that you made sure it was not toxic to Bones. I was yelling at the screen, but of course you couldn’t hear me. 😂 How exciting for us that you are posting videos everyday. Thanks for the extra ones. I for one am very happy about it. More fun and it’s so nice to get to know you guys and your daily life together.
My mom always taught me a hole covered by a rock or broken piece of pottery at the bottom. She had great plants! I always Google plants before purchasing to check for their specific needs. Keep up the creativity!
Loved the video. I also am a curbside diver and find a lot of things that I can do projects with that I haven't gotten around to. There are so many items out there with potential even if they are broken. I'm enjoying December a lot more thanks to you guys!
❤What a cute idea! Pepperomia is a great choice. Not too fussy. Don't water too much with no drainage. All plants do go puny due to repot shock straight from the store. Perfectly adorable. Actually 30 dollars for a ptcher plant that size is a good price. Good luck with your plant.
O mg!!! Kelly and Alex!!! You two are so funny! I love the banter and genuine humor you share. I'm smiling ear to ear watching you guys. Love you both and love to Bones!!! God bless.🐈✝️🥰🥰❤️✌️
It's fun watching you do some projects with your dumpster treasures! And yes, you should drill holes in the bottom or at least put in some pebbles for drainage. Also breaking up the soil around the roots and sort of pulling the roots out of the compacted soil it was in would be a good thing to do. But that is one cute plant and planter.
Hey guys y'all had me cracking up Alex is hilarious. Yes you should have put holes for drainage. Great job it's very pretty. Thanks for these new videos.
Love this idea! You need to give it a little drink after replanting but without drainage holes, be careful to not over water it. Misting will also be great. Bravo!!

Hey there Kelly and Alex, what brand is the shirt Alex’s is wearing? I collect things with mushrooms on it. Blessings and Peace ✝️❤️
Did u put drain holes in the pot?
Hi guys 🙋🏼♀️you need to put a drainage hole or lots of small stones at the bottom before your soil 🫣😘🤣🤣🤣🩷🩷🩷but it’s lovely xxx
Okay we will try this out! Thank you for the advice!
@@breafkast i was thinking the same thing. 😁 until then water lightly.
Pretty cute idea😊
Just use very little amount of water once a week since there are no holes!!😮

@@breafkastIf you don’t put in drainage holes for that plant the roots will rot.
I like the net on the basketball hoop!
I love it with the net hanging from the hoop ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yes, drainage holes and small rocks. Yes break up the roots gently as it encourages the plant to grow more roots.
You 2 are so cute together and funny as heck. Just love the every day videos and the trash to fabulous plant decor is lovely. Glad you took Bones into consideration when getting the plant. Can't wait to see what's happening tomorrow. 😊😊😊😊
So glad you enjoyed today’s vid!! We appreciate you watching and will see you again tomorrow 🎉
It's a slam dunk! 😊
Thanks for the extra work of daily posting. Love watching you every day!
So glad you’re enjoying it, we are too!! 🎉
You should put the net back on , see if bones messes with it. Other wise this is a great idea , looks nice.
Basketball planter looks so beautiful
Thank you so much! ❤
Yea, you need holes for drainage, so roots don't rot. Great job guys.

The plant needs to be safe for cats.
Love your creative imagination! ❤😊

Thank you for the advice and the compliment!❤❤
@@breafkast Since you're only misting it, not "watering" it, it should be perfectly fine. Call the store manager where you purchased it if in doubt ❤
Perfect idea for your new home. That hoop makes it look nice.Good choice of plant and more importantly it’s pet friendly. Thumbs up!
I love a diy that saves things from going into the landfil. This is a very creative diy. looking at a basketball differently now.

Turned out great y'all!! love it!!
It's a hangplant, it just has the right height. Its leaves must have room to grow downwards. Very nice done! Greetings from The Netherlands.
Really great job, super way to repurpose 2 pieces of discarded trash. Love it ❤😊

Misting the plant is fine, but you still need to water it. Drainage holes are a must, too. Great repurposing!
