Suggestion for pairing socks- safety pin them together before tossing in the hamper. Then they’re already paired in the laundry and you can leave them pinned when putting them away or not. I started this years ago before losing vision just because it’s such a time saver. :-)
Thank you so much for sharing your personal lives with us. I am not seeing impaired but my mom has been living with MD for several years now. I have found my way to The Blind Life through my research to better understand her new reality and how I can help her keep her quality of life. The recording would have been even more impactful if we heard more from Sam. Rachel would often break in while he is talking and you don't get to hear his complete thought/comment.
You guys are so cute! The way you handle the housework sounds exactly like my husband Jim and I do. We’ve been married 25 years...humor is key. I figure that things are 100%better after I clean even though it’s never perfect. Perfect is highly overrated!🤣
This is a lovely video. You guys are a lively couple and clearly work things out together. Thanks for sharing your home life with us, and giving us tips on how to cope with visual impairment at home 🤓
Thank you for this vid, it's great. Probably someone else has already posted about the sock locks, but I will too just in case. I've seen these in the Canadian National Institute for the Blind's catalogue. Haven't tried them myself but the description says you can run them in the washer and through the dryer, and then put them directly into your sock drawer. I'm tempted even though the visual part of socks isn't an issue for me yet; I'm just tired of sorting and folding socks!
You guys awesome. One tip about socks, buy a couple of dozens of the same type of socks so you don't have to sort them. I do that. I actually have 1 dozen of black ones and one of whilst ones. I put them all in the same drawer and I can tell the difference between the black and the while so I'm all good. .
I like this video guys ever since I found theblindspot I learned that there's hope for visually impaired people before this channel I didn't have all that much hope for myself I would love to meet another person with a blindness in person like me.
Heather and Joshua wow you guys I am not alone I have been legally blind all my life but I don't feel that I fit in anywhere because people like Sam for the blind spot actually explains a whole different life I know what he's talking about the blind spot I have them doctors claimed I am 20 over 400 but how in the world can I be taking motorcycles mopeds bicycles cars on the road at 60 mile an hour I don't understand
When I first started to lose my site I thought that it was the end of the world but then I phone I shared NBA Hadley for the blind now I’m doing a lot better
You Guys Are Amazing.. I met someone who is partially blind and the doctors says that one day he will be totally blind. This is so new for me and gives me terrible anxiety . Do you have any pointers/Suggestions for me? Thank you .
Billy Murray Hi. You should also check out the resources on the National Federation of the Blind website. If your frend lives in the U.S., also look into the resources by the Department of Rehabilitation. I hope that this helps.
