I decided to look into guara for my garden this year, so I went to TH-cam and saw “Rosy Hardy guara”:and thought “that sounds like a good one. A rosy & hardy plant is what I could use.”

I bought Sparkle White a few days ago, got it into the ground and we got 1" of slow rain all day, I am excited about this plant, Love the long swaying stems w/flower, (dancing butterflies). I hope it does well thru the winter, I am in NW Indiana. I will mulch it for winter's cold.

I've always loved Gaura but got discouraged when the animals ate them to the ground. After seeing your vid I decided to rediscover them in pots on my deck. Thank you! Do you sell seeds? I'm here in the US.

Hi, I'm here in the US Zone 9A. My gaura looked good, not great until the summer great hit. Lots of stems but no flowers. What's the problem.
Variety: no tag, flower is solid pink.

Thank you very much for this video. In such a short time I have found out lots of information. Interesting...do Gaura likes horse manure?

GAURA was my first perennial p,ant years ago. Unfortunately, an animal at the tight to the ground, before they were able to self seed. Not sure who ate them as we have do many so I gave up on them. This year I put them in large pots on my deck. They are gorgeous and yes, the pollinators love them. Even the hummingbirds are gathering by them. They are seeding like crazy (US Zone 6, early August). I collected seeds and will try my hand at propagation inside in the late winter; will read more How To when winter arrives. Will the seeds that drop propagate on their own? Too bad I can't put them in my garden. Love your vids, especially on Penstamons.

Hey! Yes the seeds can propagate on their own, i have a plant which did this; only the one. However, the way i am building up my soil for naturally raised beds doesn’t yet lend itself to nurturing things grown by seed. So it may spread more rapidly if it’s solid ground. Both my plants are planted in the ground. Hope this helps!

I have already so many plants to plant this spring... but you're convinced me that I also need a gaura.

I had two beautiful pink guara in a container last year but didn’t survive our winter here in NY zone 7. I got new ones planted in the ground. Let’s see if they will survive.

Nice video... even with the loud birds... what kind of birds? I planted Gaura last fall and thought it didn’t make it this spring when all I had was sticks. I avoided the temptation to pull it and finally it came through and is beautiful. I thought I had bought a pink one but this came back as white... how do you propagate?

Hello, thank you for your video. I live in TX where Gaura is a native..two of my plants are a solid 7’ tall right now 😊
However, the red dots can also be a sign of fungal infection in the soil. This would be the same fungus which leads to athlete’s foot/jock itch/ringworm. If you notice the dots increase and are purpleish, it’s def fungal. For US residents the fungal infection will assuredly be what they are observing. Our soil is in much worse condition than in the UK. The solution to bad fungus in the soil is adding good fungus…like a mychorrizal fungi. Mychorrizal fungi/mushrooms will enable any garden fabulously. The mychorrizal network will communicate with plants and itself and if a build-up of one resource, say nitrogen, occurs in one area, but a plant in another area lacks nitrogen, the mychorrizal network will redistribute the resources evenly. Now if only we could have the mychorrizal network lead the world lol
