- In this khutabah Ustadh Nouman recounts the story behind Surah ‘Abasa, a Mekki surah that was revealed as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was speaking to one of the elites of Quraish. On this rare occasion when one of the tribal leaders was actually listening to the Prophet, a blind distant relative of the Prophet rushed to him, interrupting the conversation to ask for guidance and inspiration. Even though the Prophet’s reaction was muted - he only slightly frowned and looked away - Allah revealed these ayat to draw the attention of the Prophet and the rest of us, that in the eyes of Allah, this blind man who sought the Prophet out with all his senses, is more worthy than those with hardened hearts no matter what their status in society.
I'm disabled and currently looking for a spouse, which is very difficult but Alhamdulilah this lecture lifted my spirits up and made me feel special Jazakullah

I have lost my home in fire in antioch Ca on july 7 2017...
Thankfully all of us were able to escape and no one was injured. But almost all of our belongings are gone and we dont have a place to put the rest what we were able to save that day.
Even after trying hard we are yet not able to find a place for us to live.I have two kids of 5 and 2 years old. My husband do part time job.
Rentals are either too expensive for us to afford or not available at all.
It is so frustrating to live as guest while our leftover stuff is decaying outside.

As I was listening to this incredibly wonderful lecture, a blind cat (one blind eye) came to my front door asking for food. I had reserved one boiled fish earlier just in case she drops by (i had fed her a couple of times before). I know that it is not a coincidence that she came right at this time. I fed her immediately and reminded myself that she is an important visitor from now on. 💝🐟🐈🐈🐈🐟💝
This lecture was definitely a reminder for me.. I've a sister in law who is deaf and dumb... I usually get annoyed of her.. no I'm ashamed of myself.. may Allah forgive me and make me be tolerant and understanding towards her..

Those who "deserve" Ferdaouss (no one deserves paradise, much less Ferdauss, we get there by Allah's ra7ma) will be given it, as Allah is justice and doesn't deal with anyone unjustly.
Assad Benchiker What exactly does ISNA do as an organization ??? As a Muslim growing up in the US for over 20 years...I find it hard to find any personal impact ISNA has provided for me. I think the problem resides within the lack of traditional scholarship ISNA'S board consists of. We need a team of leaders with refined souls to lead the Muslims of America. And i dont really see that with ISNA. Most people on the board try to comform with American values whilst leaving Islamic values. We are facing an identity chrisis as Muslims living in America...and ISNA is confusing the identities of many American Muslims. Id argue ICNA is doing much better work than ISNA is with a smaller team and following. What are your thoughts!??!

Funny I was just thinking about this story of Quran. These are the stories that teach us Muslims to be humble. Mufti Menk said something real nice. He said that there are people who will be in Janna and haven't slept one night inside a room. They have slept under a tree their entire lives. Mashaallah.

I do not recall the link from Mufti Menk. To further explain this issue is that what you have in this life really has nothing to do with what you earn for the next life. You can be poorest person on earth yet earn the highest place in Jannah. Mufti Menk's point was that the person who is so poor that he had never lived inside a building and had spent all his life in nature, can earn Jannah by his actions. By the way, I African countries or India it is not unheard of people who live in desserts or jungles without any material possession.

I have been listening to Ustad Nauman Ali Khan for the past few years. He has been a great inspiration for me. He helped me to change the way I study or even read quran. I have not heard anyone in my entire life so far in local mosques who would deliver the message from quran like Ustad Nauman Ali Khan does. I have heard him explaining this same passage from quran before, but listening it today again it feels like I have learned much more which I have not learned before.
One more thing I feel is that he will never come to Pakistan and we will never have the chance to listen to him live, there is so much hatred here. I pray that he may remain safe and may Allah help us understand his message.
Salaam brothers and sisters in Islam. may Allah give nouman Ali Khan jannatul Firdaus inshallah! He has helped me get a new perspective on my deen. and he has brought me to a better understanding of my relationship with Allah and the significance of the nabi (saw). it has changed my outlook on life for the better!Islam is beautiful, Allah is beautiful!

My mother has polio since she was 8 yrs old. Us siblings are over cautious about ppl with disability. Even for ppl who are shy or easily embarrased. We behave as a shield towards them. Usually our friends dont understand what and why we r behaving in a certain way. Even we at times dont conciously know why and how we behave at times to make ppl feel comfortable socially and physically. I knew this surah but not the meaning. Thank u Nauman Ali Khan for such a beautiful reminder.

Alhamdulilah for our abilities this made me appreciate myself and helped me not to doubt myself when i interact with those who are disable I always pay more attention to person, but its hard because in this society we’re living in we also need to understand their situation for example in if you work as career their policies are you have to teach a level of independence but is hard to implement this when my naf tells me to support more ! Specifically if you’re working with disabled and blind person you want to make sure they feel respected love and appreciate Only Allah knows best but Alhamdulilah i put all those societies practise aside and let Allah lead me and i ended up having the courage to go to my corner shop and clean with the cleaners and even those i was told no first. Allah protected me so no one kicked me out the shop because Allah is with me and see my true intentions. Even watching this video i really appreciate the support & advise you give me and sometimes i relate so much but I know i can learn from everyone else too but somehow i can only connect through this way by letting Allah guide and not thinking too much of which lecture should i listen to ..... Alhamdulilah none of our journey will be easy so keep building a strong relationship with Allah & the ease will come ! remember the harder your hardship is the more loved you are by Allah and the patience that comes with is soo worth the journey. May Allah be pleased with us and purity our hearts and guide us Amiin !! May Allah opens our hearts, eyes and ears more 🤲🏾🤲🏾🤲🏾🤲🏾♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I pray we All meet in Jannah and leave this world in better conditions for those to come after us i love you all for the Sake of Allah please keep in your thoughts & dua ! Just to Add for a reminder as i suffer with Anxiety and learning difficulties its hard for us to step out sometimes you’re mind can get the better of you so if you see someone shows signs of anxiety so next time you see us say hello you have no idea how much relief this gives us or Allowing the person speak freely without any judge just actively listen and let all work being more sensitive and compassion towards one another 🤲🏾♥️

Assalamu Alaikum brother Nouman! Ma'sha'allah your lectures have inspired me a lot from when I have commenced to listen to them and have brought me more closer to the deen, Alhamdulillah. Whenever I deviate from the path of Allah or am moving towards that side I just listen to your lecture which Alhamdulillah brings me back under the shade of our deen. I have no words to describe that how blessed you are by Allah SWT and may he bless you more and more with the knowledge of our deen and may you keep inspiring us with your beautiful lectures and khutbahs. Also, I would like to share a thing in regards to this particular khutbah. The same topic I read about for the first time in the book Muhammad His life based on earliest sources by Martin Lings a few days back. I am 52 and have autism. Found out at 45. I am socially different and at times when talking to a person another will interrupt without asking and the one I was talking to will converse with the other without even excusing themselves. Over years I just left it and walked away. Even if what I say bores them they can inform me then leave, not just start another conversation.
