@@fredleeland2464 Justin Houston is and was such a monster. He got a lot of hate last year for no reason. Dude was taking double teams and chips all year. If he was healthy, he was being useful. If it wasn't for him, Dee Ford wouldn't have got all those 1 on 1s that allowed him to get pressure.

Everyone who is saying that he isn't a hall of famer is literally clueless... I live in Illinois and I watched him destroy the bears over and over. All I got to say is 7 straight seasons with 10+ sacks and 136 career sacks. HoF for sure
Vike fan, I don't think he is.. He was a great pass rusher with tremendous motor but he was often out of position and cutbacks killed us. Griffen, Hunter are way better.

@Joey Snow1 I watched multiple plays where teams gained 20 plus yards on us and it was clear to anyone who was out of position. 22 sacks on a 3-13 team. What a Difference that made. Defense was toward bottom of league that year, maybe you should stop.

That draft had to be in the top 3 of worst drafts ever for QB's. You had Carr, and Joey Harrington in the top 3 and they were complete and utter busts, you had Patrick Ramsey with the 32nd pick, he did absolutely nothing either. Only decent QB's were John McCown and David Garrard and that's not saying much.

When Jared came here (Minnesota), it was every penny well spent!! Jared Allen was amazing and perfect with the Vikings!! Jared's 22 sack season, was a 3-13 season and he was the best defensive player in the league that year. He belongs in the Pro Football Hall Of Fame!!! I'm happy he retired as a Viking!! #SKOL

Glad y’all acknowledged Jared Allen. I met him in 2006, he came to my school, along with Brodie croyle. I was also at the game where he lined up as a tightend and caught a touchdown against the chargers. We got whooped that game and he was a bright spot lol. I was pissed when we traded him to the vikes. Felt like Herm Edwards was just dismantling everything vermeil had built. And that proved true, because we snuck into the playoffs Herm’s first year & it was downhill from there.
We trade Jared because he had gotten his 3rd DUI and was one more away from being suspended for a long time by the NFL. It worked out for him in MN. We did ok with the picks we received.
Most underrated EDGE rusher of the 21st century. Sad I didn't start watching until he retired.

My favorite football player ever, he was a beast. Every Vikings fan loved him.
My brother in law played back up LB behind Allen at Idaho State, said Allen, “was always where the ball was, he just always seemed to be in the right spot.” Some guys just have play making abilities.

Literally when I first started watching football and the vikings back in 2009, Jared Allen instantly became my favorite player. Seeing an edge rusher get to the QB so frequently made me wanna play Defensive End too (but I forgot I was a 10 year old 100 pound korean kid) He was always one of my favorites and then he came back to join the NFC Champion Carolina Panthers and was apart of their super-bowl leading defense. He’s made me appreciate the work that the defensive line does so much, just because the effort and extent he’d go to on every play.
