This aircraft type was long use, main between France and the french african colonies (first use from Air France, after only from french airforce) : this is the safest aircraft never built: none was killed or seriuously injured from him, only 2 light crashes at landing: one in africa (aircraft too damaged , scraped on place) the second emergency land in a field in France, repaired on place and take of in a 300m field, pilot alone with minimum gas on board...make such thing with a modern liner (...). Only the first prototype use 1590hp Snecma Gnome Rhone R14, the serials use stronger Pratt and Whitney R2800 2100, 2400 and 2500hp, but the aircraft was still a bit too ligh powered, a better engine choice had been the Bristol Centaurus or the Wright R3350 ...
I think 50's & early 60's alloy used to build those aircraft was impact resistent compared to today's airplanes alloy that disintegrated during strong crash
J'adore
Much of this aircraft was ahead of its time.
Original Le Breguet multi-purpose construction.
Some A380 times past.
Two are still visible, one is in a sorry state on an airfield near Paris, the other is restaured in Toulouse.
C'était le bon temps de l'aviation 🙂
I saw an Air France breguet at Lyon airport in the early 60s going to Algeria. I wanted to go on it.
Semsem Eini
Really?! How old are you?!
saw one of these land at heathrow when I was a lad ,quite beautiful !
Beautiful airplane
Красивый самолет!!!
WOW beautiful large doors
segun lo que veo esos motores son P&W 1,800 kW (2,400 hp) Pratt & Whitney R-2800-CA18con helices hamilton standard
I believe that this aircraft was at one time evaluated by a British airline called Silver City for medium haul car ferry flights into Europe.
They used Bristol Freighters for that, there was a car transport line between Lympne (England) and Le Touquet (France)

Merci beaucup pour les Infos
Il a atterri où dans la vidéo ??
Marseille peut-être; à une époque, il y avait une rotation Alger/Marseille
leneanderthalien Fascinating information.
The safety record is not statistically significant, because so few were built.

No airplane survives impact in a crash.
@@GH-oi2jf have a look at plane wreckages from world war II and compare them with today's planes wreckages after a crash, you'll see what I mean
Woooow
0:29 that aircraft F-BASO is now at boneyard
