Rest in Peace. I have played 15 years with wow, but never heard of this story. It's incredible. I have strong emotional attachment to the game, i have thousands of nice memories. I completely understand that Mats could live a full life in the game. What a story... I cried a lot at the end. Rest in peace Ibelin.
Haven’t cried in years, had to pause it at the end cause otherwise a would have burst out crying. Really remarkable person and especially the people he inspired. 12 Million von Dame would have gave me the rest
After watching the documentary I've made it my daily routine to start off by going to his memorial, /bow /kneel/pray/pray/happy/bye is my rotation. It's amazing the amount of other players doing the same thing. I'm on Bleeding Hollow server, hope to see you there. ♥♥♥♥ from Canada
Hello, I don't know if you guys in the video just saw the documentary and decided to pay homage to him or if you were close to him, but I left a rant here, I live in Brazil and my reality is not very good.I was born with a psychological problem, in short I have explosive fits of anger, when I was a child I attacked other people, so I had and still have difficulty meeting people. That I could trust because I was bullied because I had to take medication, they called me crazy and said "look at that crazy kid" or "wow, he doesn't even look like a normal person" It really hurt me, but I kept going, I found people who I can call friends forever, I was also able to fall in love even though I haven't found the right person yet, Of course what I went through doesn't compare to what Matts "ibelin" went through but I say that I would have loved to meet him, I also used games as an escape valve from my problems And I can say that I have had incredible moments and met incredible people, today I am a 19 year old young man and I am looking to achieve my dreams and goals, I thank everyone who reads this, I apologize if something is written wrong, I used Google Translate
You can say what you want about the WoW community. That it's cringe, toxic or whatever else. But there's one thing nobody can ever deny: when the community loses one of it's own, we all come together. RIP Ibelin. I did not know you personally, but I know we lost one of our own.
I used to play a lot of Warcraft back in the day from day one, too much haha. Argent Dawn veteran for sure, but this one hit me a lot. It shows the beauty of gaming and how it can connect people regardless of where they are. It doesn't matter how if you're sick, shy or whatever in the end. Of course it also shows the "ugly" side of how people can hide things too, and how people can just disapear at times. Parents who worry about their children gaming should watch this for sure... It hits you in the feelings especially if you've been in the roleplay environment as I have in Warcraft. Personally, I was a very insecure young man back in the day, even if I had no reason to be. Warcraft taught me a lot, grew me in many ways and I even had a relationship with someone I met there that lasted for 8 years and got me a daughter due to it. Now another woman and a baby boy years later by pure chance of a day I was bored and logged in. I don't play WoW anymore, but it has had a huge impact in my life, and there are certain people I will never forget. I will forever be thankful for that environment, and it is strange how a virtual place can have such a huge impact, but I think "The remarkable life of Ibelin" proves just that in the most meaningful of ways.
Maybe he’s lookin somewhere in Azeroth on us how we fight against bosses and he’s celebrating this 20 year anniversary with us, sad that good people must end their lives in that way and bad people can walk 80 years and do bad things. Rest in peace man, I never knowed him in game but respect for all good rpg mmo players.
That was AWESOME... I just watch Ibelin on Netflix, it was SAD BUT VERY GOOD. He was and still is a very STRONG AND BRAVE MAN AND I PRAY THAT GOD WILL TAKE GOOD CARE OF HIM.. @@michellesingh6087 Good docco, however, mixed in with greed and netflix is not the right place for a wholesome docco. Honestly. Seen the parents talking on a news outlet, which is far better suited than fucking netflix.
A norwegian guy who recently died of a duchenne disease... He found friendship through WoW and felt normal in game since he didn't have the IRL limitations there... He helped alot of people with IRL issues. His parents didn't really know he had such friends online nor the impact he would have on others personal life. The guy left his password to his dad, thats when they realised, their sons life was much larger online than they imagined and they felt people had to know of his passing online too. Documentary is on Netflix, but thats the story in a very short nutshell.
