Really hard to quantify it in that regard as the density of brush/trees varies greatly. Most of these trees were from track expansion which is typically about 20-30' wide vs a more rectangular area where I could better estimate the land they came from. But a vague guess probably ~1/4 - 1/2 acre.
Nice work! It would kill me to run such dull knives but I understand it's the rental company. I love the fact that you hammered out as much possible use and value for the rental time you paid for.
@@BigAgitator thanks, the rental guys said they would be damn surprised if we actually used the 8 running hours allotted on the machine. Even with the dull knives it only took 6 hours of run time to get through all of that material.
Great video, I'm a one person operation and old just bought my retirement home with 75 acres of mature woods and a pond that I want to open up with ATV trails and a woods walk I probably won't live long enough to complete my dream but its what I want from my remaining life so I though I'd buy a exact used chipper like this and work at my own pace as renting is not practical and those tractor PTO chippers just don't have the capacity.
Sounds like a good plan! These things move some serious chips, I would definitely recommend one of these instead of a pto chipper. The hydraulic rollers make it easy to run solo.
yet it ate all of it like a champ and knifes didn't need to be sharpened the same day. absolutely hammering that machine in one day's of work. great video, and dam, very impressive. The only difference between these machines and commercial ones like 13-15bhp with drum, they will take the same wood up to 15cm but when it's 2 people there you will end up taking turns, as for here multiple people can just feed the machine at once, for a regular chipper it would take longer but it would chip the same wood. the price is 10x difference if not up to 30x and the only main diff is how efficient they are when you are multiple people who can feed it. else you could just bought one urself and you would have something forever cause a few rentals of this is the same price of an entire commercial unit on your own.
All that good compost 😮
Would you say thats about a 1/4 of an acre of bush? Or more?

It looks like half the wood is just getting vaporized and blown away by the wind

The chipper was blunt from the start
Wouldn’t surprise me it’s a rental, run hard and put away wet. 🤘
