Rebuilding an 8.5ft FMX Ramp
มุมมอง 3292 หลายเดือนก่อน
We bought an old 8.5ft FMX ramp that had been sitting in a field for many years and gave it a rebuild. We strip it down, add a fresh face, and give it a send!!! We used 14-gauge sheet metal and 3/4" #9 expanded metal to redo the face that was originally wood. Our old ramp had plywood but we ended up adding expanded metal to get more traction, I would definitely recommend. Edited by Nick #fmx #m...

What were the dimensions of the 4’ ramp, gap, etc? I’d like to make one by don’t know where to start
@@nate2629 the ramp plans came from destructionramps.com super easy to follow and they’re like $30 (the original ramp was the 4’ 3” one). That has all the specs and I’m pretty sure included specs for a landing. At that time we literally just had a dirt pile maybe 4’ tall and 10-15’ long.
Thanks guys! You are adding to the available info. Don't let the haters hate. God bless
We got the same backhoe about to try our hand on redoing the outrigger cylinder seals
@@OCCRanch they are pretty easy if you can break the gland nut, I’m pretty sure we have a video on doing one of those.
@BrollBrothersProductions yea that's how I found yall. Looking for videos on it
That hurt my head from hear
I hope this works cause I really don’t want to have to do the brake plates.
Why didn’t you pull the darn deck out so people can see my gosh
I think the video is pretty clear and viewable, but you can make a video and show me how it could be better.
How has it held up? Something tells me it's still on there.
@@Bedroom-m4d oh yeah she’s rock solid still, haters gonna hate haha. I’ll be sure to update if it ever falls off, but I’m guessing I’ll be cutting it off in about 10 years. Stills looks new just with all the paint scraped off.
Where did you buy your washer fluid from? My tractor would take 73 gallons per tire. I found a place online where I can buy a 55 gallon drums but I don’t know how much freight would be on those.
@@derekchaplin2867 at the time Publix was having a sale I think like 2.29/gal, we just had a puncture the other day and had to buy some more and they were like 3.50 each.
Where can I get the short tool

How's the hand? Did it get broken? Great video! I'm now doing my seals.

@@OutDoorFun3 good luck
Just getting into the fmx ramps and researching the right ramps for my situation where did you get the plans for the 6 ft fmx ramp and how tall was your landing for the 6 ft ramp?
The ramp plans are from destructionramps.com, highly recommend them if you're going to build one. The beginning of this video th-cam.com/video/h593C3MTZR8/w-d-xo.html has an overview of the different sized landings we have built on the way to the current 13' tall version. For a 6' ramp i would go for at least the 8' down ramp if you can, the bigger the landing the less sketchy it is. Here is a full video on building the 8' landing it paired well with our 6' ramp th-cam.com/video/JL2ob05XR3I/w-d-xo.html.
Thanks, that is a good idea for clearing the clog. I thought I was going to have to remove the tank to clean it out. I like your way much better.
I have a 575d the key turns and lights come on but starter not engaging, this happens sporadically. If I remove the fuel filter to access the solenoid and starter will the injectors self prime or will i need to bleed the fuel injectors once i change the solenoid and or starter?
It will typically auto prime - fill the fuel filter with diesel when you slap it back on. Turn the key to the "on" position and it should run the fuel pump (30s-1min). If you are having priming issues you can typically crack the bleeder on the top of the water separator and then on mine I have a primer bulb in my fuel line. No idea if that is a stock feature, but I can pump it up to the water separator. Once that part has fuel it will typically fire up. When it's not starting you can use a screwdriver to jump the hots on the solenoid and bypass it, if that works it's typically the solenoid. If you smack the starter with a hammer and then it works again its typically the starter. On ours it was the solenoid that was bad but the replacement didn't fit correctly so I ended buying a full starter.
I don't watch anything that starts with "What's Up?" Here's an idea you might find helpful. Try learning how to do something before you actually do it. That way, you won't look so foolish.
@@WYO_Cowboy_Joe bro it’s changing coolant it’s not that serious 😂
I seem to be having a issue with right side idler pulley "pivot", moves but seems to have "drag" on it, before disconnecting cable and spring from idler pulley bracket... now it moves freely. Do you have any videos on repairing this?
@@fjbowen3155 we do not, haven’t had this issue
I’m having a really annoying time with this. Ordered a few different belts for my machine (same as yours) and the last one is the same part number as the one you used but it’s too short. Like just too short. Not enough to wrap around the pulley. Getting really annoyed with this crap.
@@matthewchamberlain1205 they can be tight sometimes, double check your deck is in the off position. Also if you haven’t already you can try and feed it on the front by pulling it across and spinning. There is a pic from the manual of this in the video
I just installed my 3rd function from summit on my l2501 and your video was a blessing. Thank you for your help
Nice work! It would kill me to run such dull knives but I understand it's the rental company. I love the fact that you hammered out as much possible use and value for the rental time you paid for.
@@BigAgitator thanks, the rental guys said they would be damn surprised if we actually used the 8 running hours allotted on the machine. Even with the dull knives it only took 6 hours of run time to get through all of that material.
I’m curious to how yall built that custom ripper
@@swurvin_Cam we bought a pack of ripper teeth (box blade teeth). And then the main column is a square steel tube with channels cut out for the teeth. Then it uses some nuts welded to either side of the channel to hold the pin for each tooth. The top of the channel has a standard cat 1 adapter welded on. If you’re looking for more specifics I can get some measurements and pics this weekend.
Why does everyone want to take off the deck to replace the belt? Lol
The deck is designed for quick removal, it takes 30 seconds to drop it for more workspace so why wouldn't I?
🏁🏁🏁🏁
How has this kit held up?
@@MOQ09 haven’t had any issues yet

100%, the previous owner put this thing through some tough love. Dude was like "it pull starts great, needs battery." It has had some issues but I got it pretty cheap
Well done guys! Looks awesome
Great, helpful vid. Thanks! You didnt discuss it, but your vid shows an L-shaped small yellow "support arm" beneath the left idler that's missing from my deck. I'm thinking that without that one small ridgid-support part that my belts are prone to shredding. I'll fab something similar. Thanks again
I’d just leave the jumper on it. Back when I learned how to drive a tractor we didn’t have all these pricy switches and gadgets that replaces common sense.
That is great? I am searching it. How much is chipper machine?
@@Adventurefamily007 this one was $420 for the day rental

Thanks so much for sharing. I seen the Coleman tractor sticker and thought of Clarksville Tn! Subscribing to check out some more of your content.
Thanks for watching, we got ours from the Nashville location but have had great experiences with Coleman
Would you say thats about a 1/4 of an acre of bush? Or more?
Really hard to quantify it in that regard as the density of brush/trees varies greatly. Most of these trees were from track expansion which is typically about 20-30' wide vs a more rectangular area where I could better estimate the land they came from. But a vague guess probably ~1/4 - 1/2 acre.
Probably similar enough but that is not a 2003 Rancher...
I'll check the OEM sticker this weekend but I am pretty sure its an 03
@@BrollBrothersProductions they changed the plastics in 04 or 05... You have the newer plastics... The 03 doesn't have that little compartment up on the top by the gas tank... I have an 03, and had an 05 as well...
@loansharky I checked today and you are correct, mine is an 05. I wish I could update the audio but doesn't change much. Thanks for pointing it out!

Great video
Thank you
Great video, I'm a one person operation and old just bought my retirement home with 75 acres of mature woods and a pond that I want to open up with ATV trails and a woods walk I probably won't live long enough to complete my dream but its what I want from my remaining life so I though I'd buy a exact used chipper like this and work at my own pace as renting is not practical and those tractor PTO chippers just don't have the capacity.
Sounds like a good plan! These things move some serious chips, I would definitely recommend one of these instead of a pto chipper. The hydraulic rollers make it easy to run solo.
My cable going to the switch is bad. Can't find a part number for the cable though? Any ideas?
@landonheadrick1775 Fresh reply, I cannot seem to find that cable anywhere on the micro fiche. The handlebar cable I initially referenced does not go to the switch so I would trace that cable hack to wherever it is connected and then scower that part of the pars diagram. If I find it i'll let you know
I have to do this on my JD500
Have I just come across the channel I’ve looked for for 6 years
Hopefully so?! If you want track building content this is the place
