For 6 years I turned my head shut my mouth nd ears and allowed some to rob me and my children of our peace ,sanity & grace now now in therapy taking one day at a time to understand why & forgive myself for being my own worst enemy

The creator(a doctor) said “we cannot experience true joy & happiness without existential pain.” Something about the brain chemicals literally needing to experience the full range of emotions bc without one, you wouldn’t truly know or fully experience the other. I can definitely relate to your sentiment, but I promise the most important lessons are necessary to learn through experience. It’s something no one else can explain or give to you. ❤❤❤

Hey Ms lady my inspiration while I was in prison in 2017 I used to feed myself with your show all day by myself you are great as far as opening peoples eyes to the things they don’t want too see & choose to ignore only way to truly heal you have to look at those things & yes you going to make some people mad oh well I am not about to sit back & let us hurt ourselves cuz I see the truth anyway it’s a very hurt 🌎 I can only be the change I wish to see but again I love you Iyanla keep doing what you doing very great at your craft I think you had a part in reconstructing my life in a sense again thank you your great & a Queen yessss 🤲🏽✨

You said, “No confrontation.. but call it “care-frontation!” Care enough about yourself to let a person know what is and isn’t acceptable to you. Shutting down to avoid confrontation teaches yourself that your needs are not important.
C’mon mama Ms. ‘Yanla! I was just settling in to do that very thing - second guess myself about “church”. It’s scary to deviate from all I’ve ever known. But somethin ain right. There’s comfort and safety in the collective. But that doesn’t mean that’s where you should be. And there’s a definite grieving process.. Most of the time we 'act like we don't know what we know' because we don't know what to do after. Do we isolate ourselves, do we avoid those giving us 'rumblings'? What do we do after? Ok, so now we know, now what is the question.
You are so right I have a family member Everytime I call them they start talking to whoever else is at their house and I am so dumb I would keep calling them and checking on them I stop because of what you just said I stopped it because why do I keep calling some one who has told over the years they don't like me so I stopped calling them I said Sheila you are hurting your own feelings they have always made it clear that they are better than me without holding any grudges I just let them go and stop being so needy of phony love and remembering that I am always good enough for God i have been told some terrible things by my family I had to stop re evaluate my circumstances and love myself and not care who doesn't because I love me and so does Jesus
