I think you met my cousin..she is from Aligarh, residing in Dubai.. I have arranged an online teacher for her daughter to learn urdu from karachi, and she is very satisfied.. Since then, her daughter has been able to write and read Urdu. I' m from PAK lives in UAE, and I brought my father from karachi to attend Rekhta .. My father was born and brought up in India. We still have a strong connection with our family in India, but unfortunately, we can't travel due to the current situation there. UAE has become a hub for the subcontinent family reunion, which we do in 2 to 3 years. My father, even though he was on wheelchair, really enjoyed all the #Rekhta activities in dubai. Loved your conversation ❤
So when your Indian family is planning to apply for Pakistani citizenship? Bcoz muslim not safe in India 😂... Or they are enjoying freedom in India without thinking that no hindu is going to kidnap their girls and convert into Hinduism like Pakistani do with non Muslim girls
My two talented cousin sisters! Mazaa aa gayaa! Mashoo you should be one of the moderates at ‘ Jashne Rekhta’. Conversation was so nurturing and heartwarming.
Thank you Jugnu Baji, love you but there is a reason for Rekhta having a standard because they don’t invite any random person with limited knowledge to moderate 😂😂
This was such a pleasant conversation! Thoroughly enjoyed the positivity and intellectualism ❤️Wishing the Rekhta organization much success in all its future endeavors.
What a refreshing start to my Sunday morning! Syeda Arifa is my absolute favorite adabi personality, and I can listen to her for hours on end. I must say though, Mahwesh you speak so eloquently and it’s a pleasure listening to you describe the latest Rekhta festival! I’ve been following Rekhta for years on TH-cam, and it does invariably show up every time I want the authentic version of some Urdu ashaar. So happy that the festival is now being held on neutral grounds where Urdu lovers from all over the world can attend and enjoy everything related to this beautiful language. Thanks Amna for having Mahwesh on Ahi and for bringing us this enlightening and eloquent conversation to us! ❤️
I m an Indian and I love Urdu because it's my country's language... And it's not Muslims language but everyone used to speak it before and after India's independence...
I’m from India aur yha jashn-e rekhta har saal hota hai and I used to go every year. The way Mehwish explained it was so beautiful, I want to share my experience as well here- har saal rekhta ache level par hota hai aur bht log attend karte hai isme Urdu zabaan ko lekar artist aate hai us par baat karte hai bahut celebrities perform karte hai, iski sabse achi baat hai ki isme youth connected hota hai bht students aate hai and young shayar unka mushaira bhi hota hai bade aur mashoor shahar hai unka mushaira alag hota hai. Khane ke stalls hote hai yha to har state ke kuch famous khane hote hai. Entry free hoti hai u just have to fill a registration form. Aur bht maza aata hai log bht enjoy karte it’s like celebration yha 3 days ka hota hai they provide poetry books, pamphlets, bookmark etc. good to see that people enjoy these kinds of events jaha aap kuch sikh kar aate hai and thanks for sharing such info. Aur jo rekhta ke founder hai unka naam Sanjiv Saraf hai.
Thank you so much guys. Absolutely love it, very refreshing. I am so tired and sick of dramas and review. I am not watching any more. Book club is good idea or just suggestion of books to read. Just wish you would have shared more clips with audio and video. Mahawish we want to see you more. Please
Love the way she related the festival point by point. You should keep her to cover festivals... with you, your channel... as and when she is available ❤ love her enthusiasm and love for culture, language. ❤
Bohut Maza Aaya, bohut pur lutf guftgoo ki Mahwash nay.bohut rawani say tafseel bataee aur hamara shoq ubhaar diya Kay agli martaba ham bhi jaen aur is behtareen mehfil ka lutf lain.shukriya Aamna
As an Indian, I feel extremely proud of the organization Rekhta. My husband and I had attended the first ever Jashn in Delhi, it was a delightful event even then. Thank you so much for your kind words and appreciation for the event. Urdu has been an integral part of our heritage and has connected people from all over the world. What is more heartwarming is that Aamna and everyone associated with her always have good and kind words about their experiences connected with India. The main reason of the phenomenal popularity of Pakistani serials is the language. The best part is that we here call it Hindi, and the official name of the language there is Urdu. Many people here do not know the difference. They feel happy to watch the serials, thinking that the language is Hindi only. My own dream is to visit Karachi one day and enjoy the company of my many FB friends across the border. Thanks again. 😊🙏🏻❤️❤️🙏🏻😊
I absolutely loved this conversation. I didn't know much about Jashne Rekhta, however, after listening to this conversation, I will keep my eyes and ears open and hope, InshahAllah, to attend it next year. My Urdu is quite sketchy, but from watching the dramas, I am slowly getting better. I feel like a festival such as this one deserves our support and encouragement. I am looking forward to attending it next year. Thank you so much for sharing this information with us.
Really surprised to know that Amna was very less informed about this prestigious festival Jashne Rekhta . In India Urdu is less spoken compared to pak, but everybody knows the importance of Rekhta. But kudos to Mahwish, she gave great bird's eye view. ❤
Amna I thoroughly enjoyed your talk with your cousin Mahvish. Beautiful conversation. Especially what she said about the three things her father had advised her. So,so true
How Mahwish write all points show its in their family same as aamna right her points.. aamna ap ko mahwish ko dekh k lgta hai educated tameez daar family sy hain mashaa Allah..
Yes, please start a book club! Thanks for this interesting conversation. As someone being born and raised abroad, Urdu novels and literature in general have been a vital source of keeping a connection alive to Pakistan.
Uff that chirra chirri took me back down memory lane, a time when i held my first book in nursery, which my father read with me on his lap. And today, being a teacher myself I see this disseminating and distilling out. But there is still hope for everything. Thank you Mahwish for such an enriching experience and it's retelling.
Wow! I could listen to Mehwish for hours. She is such a well-spoken person. It's a treat. Imagine what would it be like to listen to Aarifa Madam speaking her wisdom live in the audience. Wow. Thank you Aamna for this video. You guys made our day better. Next time you should also go attend the festival and bring more stories with you and share them with us.
Watching these two ladies discuss the Jashne Rekhta programs in Dubai felt like eavesdropping on a delightful conversation in the comfort of their own drawing room. Their easy banter and cozy atmosphere made it seem as if we were invited guests, soaking in the charm of their reminiscences. Their vivid descriptions painted a vivid picture of the event, transporting us to the vibrant world of Urdu literature and culture without a hint of hurry. Truly a mesmerizing and enriching experience!
It was carefully orchestrated phenoman where urdu was linked with muslims by the British. It was adopted by the Muslim elite ,That's why punjabis felt inferior and ultimately shunned their language
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this episode. Mahwish is equally talented . Her review was very refreshing . Looking forward to watching similar content . Keep up the good work !
Love this conversation between the two cousins. Kahaniyan humari zindagi ka bhi hissa tha jab hum chote the and Amna maam I am a kid of 90s. But afsos ki baat hai ki kahaniya kho gayi hai...'dal ka dana aur chawal ka dana' made me nostalgic..Meri par nani ki yaad aa gayi😢 'Urdu musalmano ki zabaan hai'...dear this believe is not only in Pakistan but also Indian muslims who are urdu speakers. Meri nani yeh kehti hain. To sirf Pakistanis ke liye yeh comment nahi tha. Love from India ❤

Having my morning coffee listening to you girls! Glad to see Mahwish back. Reminds me of our cousin chit chats -such a comfort level and flowing conversation . Do let Mahwish join some of your drama reviews too as she has such a frank take on it and voices how most viewers feel! Love your content Aamna though I do think Hassan and you sometimes come across as too politically correct and unwilling to criticize or call out bad performances and actors. Though I do get that it comes with the job and to keep good vibes with all becomes a necessity 😅.

Do let Mahwish join some of your drama reviews too as she has such a frank take on it and voices how most viewers feel! Love your content Aamna though I do think Hassan and you sometimes come across as too politically correct and unwilling to criticize or call out bad performances and actors. Though I do get that it comes with the job and to keep good vibes with all becomes a necessity 😅.
wow.. maza aa gya !!
Mahwish is such a delightful, balanced and eloquent speaker.❤
You both are amazing, thanks a lot for this conversation 💐
