Thanks for sharing. Wonderful tapestry of sound. It is amazing to hear that you wove all those patch cables into this tapestry. I can envision you moving an oscillator sound from one patched in circuit to another to make the rich tones...
So I’d had my eye on the Hydrasynth, but decided to order the Iridium when Waldorf announced it. I’ve had it for about 2 weeks and have been REALLY enjoying it. That said, there is part of me that would’ve liked to have been able to test the HS as well. Seeing as you’ve had the Quantum and Hydrasynth for a hot minute, I find myself wondering what your thoughts are on each? (Analog filters aside)
0:22 This is like some extraordinary time-traveling type music As if you were about to jump into a Portal that takes you into the future like in the German Netflix show "Dark" to the year 2060.... I love that btw. :)
Incredible as always 🙌 After seeing that Hydrasynth in your sets and after your recommendation, I decided to get the desktop version, I can't wait to get it! That Keystep pro is must-have for live sets! love it!
Realy like the layers. This is like surfing a generative landscape. If you think while you manual control it you lose control. You can spend weeks on a beauty patch like this. Fantastic work ! Did you think about using flowers for CV control ? There is a biometric feedback to CV module called Scíon from Instruō.
Exellent as usual , but i wonder after watching a lot of your videos if a big part of your sound is (to add with your talent) the fx handling .... no matter the synths you use , their caracter are a lot of time canceled by the fx and your ability to make them sing , and i do think a lot of people think ,this or that synth sounds superb , while they actuall listen to very few of it .... I actually discovered you looking for X and Y hardware review lol ( and discovered instead an ARTist !!)
'You can't polish a turd.' - as the saying goes. Delay, reverb etc are very important in electronic ambient music, they ARE part of the sound but they don't do magic. A crap sound will still sound crap through the best delay and reverb. A lot of my stuff has very ambient and atmospheric elements that would sound okay dry, but the atmosphere will definitely suffer if you take those away. Besides, I rarely if ever just smear massive reverb over everything until it's drowning out the source sounds, I try and balance everything as well as I can and use FX also for depth and layering, i.e. to push certain sounds to the back or foreground. Saying that, I'm sure I might overdo it sometimes. I personally don't think any sounds are cancelled by FX, but rather complemented if treated well. But this is all subjective of course, and just my opinion. I've been mixing this kind of music for decades, and this is my preference but others will feel different of course. Thanks for the feedback anyway :)
@@stateazure Nah i understand 100 % , in fact i was about to developp on that (but didn't wanted on a youtube comment lol) , i call it "DNA" of the sound , and if the "DAN" is solid , then the post treatment will fallow of course , it's more in a ratio aspect , the color of a synth is cumulative and giving by its osc , filter , env and mods /fx ect .... and a lot of time the diff are small (specially when raw and not a lot of fx / mod) ..... the delta lives in modulations of certains variables .... using a lot of modulated fx post in a high Wet / dry ratio tends to minimises the perception of those diff imho (not a bad thing) , still the "expression " of the original sound and its inherent movement (role in the piece) is crucial .... What i'm saying is higligted by the fact that when you play form time to time (saw a video where you play sequentials synths on right side stands) a synth in its raw form ,it immediatly sticks out and comme first dynamic range printing its authority based on its caracter like nothing else !! That's why i don't think you overdoe that much , it creates such dynamics that very few producers understand the power off ;)
@@ZozillaThaGreat Yeah I understand you. But as I say it is easy to overdo it and sometimes I'm sure that's happened, even listening back to this track you're commenting on, at least with the crappy computer speakers I'm listening with right now, it seems some of the background elements might be too deep in verb, but since they are background elements it doesn't matter as much to me. Now with some of these eurorack tracks I did, mixing issues like that can happen very easily and I cannot fix them later, because I recorded these and one-time done deals, no practice, perform and record in one go and done (and there's NO multitracking at all, so no fixing any audio in post editing)...then I pull all the cables and start with a blank slate!
@@stateazure Ballsy moves , you have my respect for that , period !! May i ask witch piece of gear is irreplacable in your set up ? Hydrasynth : you seem to really like it , i tried it and it was kinda asking a lot of rational moves to make it sounds great unlike direct primitive synths like Korg Prologue , Sequnetial Rev2 ect that i tried and prefered their direct sound versus hyper felxibility of hydra , that said i tried those in shop (went out with the korg) , would love your input on that . Thks for atking the time for answers !
@@ZozillaThaGreat Hydrasynth is a nice digital/wavetable synth, but it's not one of my favourites/irreplaceable synths. I'd say that for me is probably the Iridium (keyboard or desktop, I have both). For analog synths, I'm not sure...analog always kind of tends to overlap each other due to the limited sound pallete, but I think my Prophet 10 and/or Novation Summit are the most important (though Summit is a hybrid).
@@stateazure I bought the hydrasynth a month ago haha still waiting for it. Peak or matriarch are next on my list now. I have yet to listen to your new work but Keep up the good work
you can hear how much effort you put into this track ... really a masterpiece ... absolutely love it !! How is it going with the digitone? doesn't match your taste? ... just out of interest
Thanks, substan. Yeah quite a bit of work on this one, glad it shows! I didn't keep the Digitone, the sound was nice but the workflow wasn't working for me and I found chord programming a bit frustrating. I think I also prefer working with samples maybe!
Not much. Actually, I've sold the Pro-1, and the Model D will probably go very soon. Not that I don't think they're good synths, but I want to put more eurorack in the case. The AJH Mini Mod modules that I recently put in, pretty much cover Pro-1 and the D
Phantastic soundscapes, I like this very much! Nevertheless I deabonized your channel due to too many ads. Having ti watch 10 Ads scattered over tge time of such a masterpiece is not acceptable. I know you want to make money out of this, but this is too much - sorry!
@@powermix24 I think the Wavestate sounds really cool, lots of unique sounding sequences could be made with that, no sample/wave import is a bit of an issue though. I could definitely integrate it into the setup if I had the room :)
Man, I'm listening to this over and over, it's epic...
Same here! Have it on repeat!!
This is what you need to listen too while watching the stars outside, both equally breathtaking
Getting some Metroid Prime beeps and blurps. Love it!
These shorts are ssoo good. I'm hooked.
A warm blanket over my mind , thankyou
Music that takes you out of reality and takes you to the vastness of the universe ... Very strongly ... Thank you. Wow !!!
Delicious sound design, always such a delight for one's ears and soul.
Wow! Technically stupendous. All the stops out on this one. Chris Franke - watch your back.
I got lost listening to this one. Sounds really immersive.
Dear State Azure !!!....High....Fidelity... Sound System!!! Gratulation!!!Unique...🙂
Wonderful to say the least...
A definite sense of progress in this space-like environment.

Man, it's getting better and better...
Really looking forward to this. My Hydrasynth module was just delivered this morning.
Awesome, congratulations! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Thank you for making my life MORE
That deep bass is going under the skin... Great set!
Haven't seen your channel in a few weeks.. that setup looks like the inside of the Space Shuttle. #jealous
Solar Fields all over the place :) nice
Ok, may have to call you The Cable Guy after looking at the video : )
Sounds marvellous as always.

Great sound atmosphere .... I m totally stone. Very good job.
Great cerebral soundscapes. You’re regarded the same as Steve Roach in my ambient playlists.
