I have been living in Arkansas for the last 8 years and feel there is something special to this state. I can’t seem to leave this place, despite of all the job offers from other states. I feel I am in love with this natural state and especially its trees!
I’m an Arkansas native living in northern MS and I work in West Memphis. I work a short distance from where the 3 boys were murdered. I’ve seen the area every workday for over 16 years. I’m amazed at when I have spoken with co-workers who have lived in the area all their lives about the subject, how divided they are about what really happened and who killed the boys. I’ve also stayed at the Crescent Hotel several times and only felt a presence once while staying there. It’s fun to stay there as Eureka Springs is a beautiful area. Also passed through Fouke once on my way to Dallas, the Legend of Boggy Creek movie scared the hell out of me as a kid when I saw it in the 70’s. Pretty isolated area and who knows what’s really out there. Devil’s Den in northwest Arkansas is beautiful and it is supposed to be haunted and hikers have died in the woods there. Really enjoyed this video about my home state.
As an Arkansan born and raised, I was so excited to see this video! Arkansas is often overlooked and it was so great to see all the great stories and info this video had to offer. Can't wait to share this video with all my friends and family.
Does anyone else ever randomly walk into a cemetery and walk arund looking at all the headstones like i do I'm just fascinated by old headstones and the sort of lives the people buried under them lived prior to their deaths
@@chibi_rabbit There's an old cemetery where I live, it's in walking distance. I go there from time to time and sit in the shade by this gorgeous water fountain. It truly is peaceful there!
I love the idea of "Towns of Terror." Might I suggest Kansas City Kansas? There's a place called Sauer Castle here built in 1871, It's very creepy & everyone says it's haunted. There's a lot more to Kansas than people think! We also have 4 serial killers, Dennis Radar, Stephen Richards, John E Robinson & Scott Roeder.. I would greatly appreciate your consideration to see what Kansas has to offer. Love your video's. ❣

@@mallarysangel It's a quiet, sleepy little state. Which is very nice in some ways but a lotta times that goes hand-in-hand with being several decades behind the times. But it's the Natural State for a reason, so it's a lovely place to visit (NOT in the summer)!
I really enjoyed this new format! I've visited Little Rock and had the opportunity to explore the country outside of town. I didn't experience anything scary or supernatural. However, the woods were totally creepy.

Great start to a new series! Definitely looking forward to the next! One thing I found a bit “off” I guess you could say is the first story of John Markle. While not always the case, embezzlement of money is usually carried out by at least 2 or more people. It’s very hard to hide embezzlement, and I think someone else was involved and didn’t want to be found out once John was charged and could potentially be named to the police. The fact John was found to be shot twice in the head by two different guns (although possible the first shot didn’t kill him so he used another) it seems more likely that whoever this 2nd mystery person is, most likely set it all up to look like a murder/suicide. He really had no reason to kill his whole family. I am thinking this 2nd person, in fear of being named, went to John’s house, killed his family, (so there were no witnesses) made him rewrite his will, write the suicide note, call the lawyer, then shot John twice to make sure he was dead. Just a theory of mine. Something about the case didn’t seem right to me, and as I stated, you usually have someone watching over you and the money coming and going in a company business, so I feel someone else was involved and didn’t want to be found out. The fact he was shot twice in the head with 2 guns was what really got my attention, but writing his family out of his will and killing them when they had nothing to do with his business dealings also stood out to me. I can very possibly be wrong, but I feel there is more to this story and the police should have looked at the people who he named in the will and co-workers he had a close and private relationship with.

The Memphis 3 is such a tragic story. Not only for the three boys that were murdered, but for the three boys that lost their innocence and had their lives taken from them because of the music they listened too and the clothes they wore. The young man the prosecutor and police tricked into confessing had multiple learning disabilities which the courts failed to recognize. The killer, in my opinion, was a step dad to one of the boys. In an interview, the stepdad had spoke of information relating to the three deaths that hadn’t been released and wasn’t public knowledge. The interview with the stepdad is super creepy as he himself is a creepy individual. The things he says in the interview were later seen as inadmissible when the defense wanted to put him on the stand for questioning. You can hear in the stepdads voice, he almost seems excited about talking about what happened to the three boys. So fucked how the courts won’t even entertain the idea of finding out who the real killer is cause they don’t want to admit that they fucked up.
I believe that’s true.. they saw something they were not suppose to see. This was still the late 80s, in those days Escobar was still ruling the drug trafficking. I believe strongly that bill Clinton was present during the killings on a drug trade taken then. It’s also mention that they were near a airfield before they’re bodies were removed when they got shot.
I have SOOO MANY images from all over the Crescent Hotel. A pair of orbs came down the main staircase and disappeared into the elevator. The reflections in the windows show whispy apparitions of people in fancy dinner dress (+ one priest, which I found terrifying when I viewed the pics later on!) Also, my son and I were the only ones in this hallway with a mirror at the end.... I was walking towards him and he was walking away from the mirror- halfway down the hallway it looked like someone was walking in his shadow and swinging its arms wildly. I'm so glad the current owners rescued the antique Calliope (musical instrument), if not, they wouldn't have fallen in love with and restored/reopened the hotel. ❤

HEY starting off a series with my homestate! we're never included in shit like this despite having a TON of scary and/or fucked up happenings in the state. aside from all the gross legal injustice shit, i'm excited to see the howler included in this. my fav local cryptid doesn't get enough airtime. sadly the photos look a lot like a fun take on the creature using taxidermy from a gray fox as a base.

I've been to Petit Jean Mountain many times. Fished, Camped, Hiked,Swam. Took my Fam up there many many times. We lived just a few miles away. But I've never seen anything strange or weird. I've walked under that arch. AR is a Very Beautiful place to visit.
Eureka Springs, AR is one of my favorite cities!!! I have been to the Crescent Hotel, and can't wait to go back and spend the night so I can take the ghost tour!!!
I am a born here and will die here Arkansan 🤘 Born in FortSmith (where Isaac "the hangin judge) Parker presided...and was raised in Crawford County and Van Buren was our regular shopping trip. The King Opera House IS A FORCE! My mother and I decided to walk downtown Van Buren which is very historical and quite beautiful if you want to park your car and walk one side and up the other to window shop and what not. It's great during Christmas or any festive season because the shop owners really do get and it's just a great place. The king opera house was being renovated one time when my mother and I decided to go walk the strip. You can hear saws and everything going on the inside. And the door had something propping it open for once which in the less than 20 years I had been on Earth I had ever seen that before so it was strange because it had been closed the entire time I had been alive so far but had always heard the stories. So with my teenage bravery I looked at my mom and she knew instantly I was going to open that door up and I did. I opened it far enough to see the foyer and a beautiful staircase but all of a sudden the music didn't sound like rock and roll anymore and I swear when I looked inside that place the music changed. It wasn't construction type music anymore and it literally sounded like there was a play going on inside and you could feel THAT feeling, which anybody who has ever been to a small theater performance with a great acoustic sound will know exactly what I mean, of the SOUND AND FEEL of an orchestra box and a theater full of people!! As brave as I had been the 32nds before I heard that music... Instantly I felt immediate respect, awareness, sadness and consideration and whatever braveness I did have absolutely went away because I didn't even step foot over that threshold. I told my mom "okay let's go". She asked well don't you want to speak? Go in and look a little see what we can see? I said nope that's okay. I don't know what it was or what it meant or if I felt what I was supposed to feel but whatever was guarding the door that day made me instantly believe that the king Opera House it's not something to be taken for granted or lightly. Something malicious would have let me go in there and then freaked me out.. so I figured maybe it was just somebody or somewhat of something showing me the gravity of what I was taking for granted. Arkansas was a major boundary for the civil war and has been kind of in the dark ages as far as rights and being open to people so there are a lot of things around here that could absolutely make a person second-guess themselves we just have to decide whether or not we deserve to be put in our place or is it something else?

Enjoyed the video! I live in Arkansas, literally one town over from West Memphis. Those murders divided the county and left a lot of questions unanswered. Police botched the investigation and ruined crime scene, a man covered in blood walked into a fast food restaurant not far from crime scene around the time the boys were missing and it was never looked into properly (based on hearsay). I worked with one of the victims fathers for a short time and he was totally convinced Echols did it, others suspected one of the stepfathers of the boys did it, and some thought a traveler passing through may have done it. Investigation was a mess and sad the families never got answers they deserved

Also, I gotta say, in spite of how haunted Mt Holly is, its a lovely and comforting place to visit. My mom used to go eat her lunch there sometimes when she still worked downtown. Also, the high school I went to, Parkview, does (or did for many years) a thing for Halloween every year where, for two weeks in October, the drama students read monologues about historical figures in the cemetary while standing at their grave plots and wearing period-appropriate clothing. It starts at sundown and theres luminaries on the sidewalks - it's very pretty and just creepy enough to be fun. It was always a wonderful time and I highly encourage my fellow Arkansans to check it out if they still do that ❤️
Petit in Petit Jean (and just the word in general actually) is pronounced "petty"! Important because her nickname was masculine and "petite" is the feminine version of "petit". I just wanted to point it out :) Love the video regardless though. I live in Arkansas and hadn't heard of the creepy stories so that was cool! The light in the first part of the haunted segment is the Gurdon Light and is in Gurdon, Arkansas. My parents grew up in Gurdon and have seen it many times, one time coming between the two of them. I enjoyed the show!
One of the worst ones that I've heard come out of Arkansas was a woman from Missouri was looking for a job and a woman approached her on Facebook going to help her and the woman ended up kidnapping her and cutting her baby out and this just happened last year on Halloween

I’ve always lived in Arkansas and I was always told that the story of the light happens in Gurdon. Not crosset. Also, I was always told the petit Jean girl didn’t die from illness. She fell off the side of a cliff. And the ghost that haunts room 218 at the crescent was a man named Michael. I could be wrong but that’s what I was always told. I really loved the video though. You did a great job.
Forrest Galante actually investigates and found out what the Ozark Howler is it’s a critically extinct kind of wolf if I remember correctly, the episode is on TH-cam it’s a good watch!
I was born and raised in northwest Arkansas. There are a lot of paranormal type stories associated with the state that I have not only experienced but would also like to experience. I have stayed in the Crescent Hotel and it is very creepy but also beautiful. There is a really good docu-film done by a dearly departed friend of mine named Phillip W. Steele that you should check out called the Haunted Hills of the Ozarks. He was a very prominent figure in Springdale, Arkansas (where I lived) and a very nice man and great friend. Please check it out.
I recommend everybody look into The West Memphis 3, this only scratched the surface of the case and left out a lot of details that show the corruption of the police department and those involved in the case.
My family and I stayed in Michael’s room at the Crescent Hotel. We only experienced a little. My brother’s pillow was yanked from under his head and thrown across the room, and I felt like someone slapped the bottom of my foot in the middle of the night. My mom got lightheaded when we went to the basement/morgue, and we found out later she’d become lightheaded when she sat down next to the wall of the freezer they had stored bodies in. Once she moved away from the wall she was fine. Honestly the scariest part was how uncomfortable my bed was, but even so I hope to go again in the future.
Lived in Arkansas my whole life. In 1968 when I was 8yr old me and my Aunt saw bigfoot, it was late and it walked up in the yard. We had gone to bed and the lights were off, so we could see really clear outside through the window. The moon was bright and the porch Light was on. I watched it, it was real. It upset the animals. True I swear.

I moved to Arkansas from Illinois in 1987. This state has some weird sh!t! I'm now living in Harrison.
Grew up in Bryant, Ar.... was a great place to be a kid in the 80s, 90s....

I've been to Petit Jean Mountain many times. Fished, Camped, Hiked,Swam. Took my Fam up there many many times. We lived just a few miles away. But I've never seen anything strange or weird. I've walked under that arch. AR is a Very Beautiful place to visit.
Eureka Springs, AR is one of my favorite cities!!! I have been to the Crescent Hotel, and can't wait to go back and spend the night so I can take the ghost tour!!!
Eureka Springs is easily one of the cutest and most charming towns I've ever been to and it is SUCH a hidden jewel!

Born in FortSmith (where Isaac "the hangin judge) Parker presided...and was raised in Crawford County and Van Buren was our regular shopping trip.
The King Opera House IS A FORCE! My mother and I decided to walk downtown Van Buren which is very historical and quite beautiful if you want to park your car and walk one side and up the other to window shop and what not. It's great during Christmas or any festive season because the shop owners really do get and it's just a great place. The king opera house was being renovated one time when my mother and I decided to go walk the strip. You can hear saws and everything going on the inside. And the door had something propping it open for once which in the less than 20 years I had been on Earth I had ever seen that before so it was strange because it had been closed the entire time I had been alive so far but had always heard the stories. So with my teenage bravery I looked at my mom and she knew instantly I was going to open that door up and I did. I opened it far enough to see the foyer and a beautiful staircase but all of a sudden the music didn't sound like rock and roll anymore and I swear when I looked inside that place the music changed. It wasn't construction type music anymore and it literally sounded like there was a play going on inside and you could feel THAT feeling, which anybody who has ever been to a small theater performance with a great acoustic sound will know exactly what I mean, of the SOUND AND FEEL of an orchestra box and a theater full of people!! As brave as I had been the 32nds before I heard that music... Instantly I felt immediate respect, awareness, sadness and consideration and whatever braveness I did have absolutely went away because I didn't even step foot over that threshold. I told my mom "okay let's go". She asked well don't you want to speak? Go in and look a little see what we can see?
I said nope that's okay. I don't know what it was or what it meant or if I felt what I was supposed to feel but whatever was guarding the door that day made me instantly believe that the king Opera House it's not something to be taken for granted or lightly. Something malicious would have let me go in there and then freaked me out.. so I figured maybe it was just somebody or somewhat of something showing me the gravity of what I was taking for granted.
Arkansas was a major boundary for the civil war and has been kind of in the dark ages as far as rights and being open to people so there are a lot of things around here that could absolutely make a person second-guess themselves we just have to decide whether or not we deserve to be put in our place or is it something else?
Very well done and glad to see the state I was born in Little Rock and raised in Bryant Arkansas, Barbara Ives, Kevin's mom is a neighbor still. I'm around 15yrs younger than her boy!!!

Enjoyed the video! I live in Arkansas, literally one town over from West Memphis. Those murders divided the county and left a lot of questions unanswered. Police botched the investigation and ruined crime scene, a man covered in blood walked into a fast food restaurant not far from crime scene around the time the boys were missing and it was never looked into properly (based on hearsay). I worked with one of the victims fathers for a short time and he was totally convinced Echols did it, others suspected one of the stepfathers of the boys did it, and some thought a traveler passing through may have done it. Investigation was a mess and sad the families never got answers they deserved

Great idea. Last Podcast is so perfect because it marries high strangeness and true crime.
Also, I gotta say, in spite of how haunted Mt Holly is, its a lovely and comforting place to visit. My mom used to go eat her lunch there sometimes when she still worked downtown. Also, the high school I went to, Parkview, does (or did for many years) a thing for Halloween every year where, for two weeks in October, the drama students read monologues about historical figures in the cemetary while standing at their grave plots and wearing period-appropriate clothing. It starts at sundown and theres luminaries on the sidewalks - it's very pretty and just creepy enough to be fun. It was always a wonderful time and I highly encourage my fellow Arkansans to check it out if they still do that ❤️

The light in the first part of the haunted segment is the Gurdon Light and is in Gurdon, Arkansas. My parents grew up in Gurdon and have seen it many times, one time coming between the two of them. I enjoyed the show!

One of the worst ones that I've heard come out of Arkansas was a woman from Missouri was looking for a job and a woman approached her on Facebook going to help her and the woman ended up kidnapping her and cutting her baby out and this just happened last year on Halloween

I’ve always lived in Arkansas and I was always told that the story of the light happens in Gurdon. Not crosset. Also, I was always told the petit Jean girl didn’t die from illness. She fell off the side of a cliff. And the ghost that haunts room 218 at the crescent was a man named Michael. I could be wrong but that’s what I was always told. I really loved the video though. You did a great job.

I was born and raised in northwest Arkansas. There are a lot of paranormal type stories associated with the state that I have not only experienced but would also like to experience. I have stayed in the Crescent Hotel and it is very creepy but also beautiful. There is a really good docu-film done by a dearly departed friend of mine named Phillip W. Steele that you should check out called the Haunted Hills of the Ozarks. He was a very prominent figure in Springdale, Arkansas (where I lived) and a very nice man and great friend. Please check it out.

I recommend everybody look into The West Memphis 3, this only scratched the surface of the case and left out a lot of details that show the corruption of the police department and those involved in the case.
My family and I stayed in Michael’s room at the Crescent Hotel. We only experienced a little. My brother’s pillow was yanked from under his head and thrown across the room, and I felt like someone slapped the bottom of my foot in the middle of the night. My mom got lightheaded when we went to the basement/morgue, and we found out later she’d become lightheaded when she sat down next to the wall of the freezer they had stored bodies in. Once she moved away from the wall she was fine.
Honestly the scariest part was how uncomfortable my bed was, but even so I hope to go again in the future.
Lived in Arkansas my whole life. In 1968 when I was 8yr old me and my Aunt saw bigfoot, it was late and it walked up in the yard. We had gone to bed and the lights were off, so we could see really clear outside through the window. The moon was bright and the porch Light was on. I watched it, it was real. It upset the animals. True I swear.
