    The third best set up is to destroy the Best buy warehouse and rebuild it according to 53 feet tractor and trailers :)

    Try the real old school way.
    Pull past the drive.. throw on the 4ways.. and blindside it into the 130° turn against nonstop traffic.
    They'll stop. 😂
    That's how we had to do it when I learned doing LTL in Chicago and the suburbs 30 years ago.

    Wow. I knew you would make this look easy. My setup was a bit off, I pulled into the road but didn’t go left enough,and it was a struggle to get in. This will make the next time a wee bit easier. Thanks a million.

      The second method he showed is how I alley dock with a lot of the small Kroger stores I go to with no open street in the front 😂😂😂 so I had to come in from the building side, make a U-turn and line up hugging the ramp to my left in a straight line to give yourself plenty of room in the front for the truck to chase the trailer as you jackknife into the dock. It gets super easy the more you do it, takes about 5 minutes...Like a glove!

      There are lots of companies who help you get your CDL like Swift, CR England, Werner and many more. And then you work for them. The great thing about them is they teach you with the equipment that you will use in the real world. Lots of cdl schools only use 28 for trailers.

    The easiest way would be backing off the street. If your gonna have to wait mines well just back in. Old head told me anything sketchy it easier to back in then pull in. Not be able to turn around it will kind of eliminate the unknown.

    Your first jackknife attempt where you ended up in front of the trailer, I think if you had turned left then straight to the edge of the street, it would have brought your tail into good alignment to finish the back. I used to drive a sleeper regionally but now I operate a yard truck, and boy and I spoiled now.

    Question why do most if not all drivers make there U turn to the right like you did in this demonstration. To me it seems like making it to the left allows you to look back at the trailer to know what it's doing if you're in a tight turn but when you do it to the right you loose sight of the trailer and see a lot less but every one seems to do it that way ??

    • @MyTruckingSkills
      @MyTruckingSkills  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very observant. I think it's just feels more comfortable making it to the right because it keeps the driver on the outside, easier to make the turn as wide as possible. You don't really need to keep an eye on your tires, just got to make sure the trailer doesn't hit the back of the truck.

    When I first saw the bay I immediately thought it would be best to drive in the yard and jack-knife it into position like you did on the second method. My second choice was the way you did it first time. Having said that I'm in England so if it was over here the jack-knife would be all on the blind side and might not be such a good idea.

    • @MyTruckingSkills
      @MyTruckingSkills  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And it would've been much easier for you too, the turning is tighter you your trucks and you have a shorter wheel base. No bonnet either. But I'm England there are so much more tighter area's to back into, we have it easy over here with all the real estate we have to back up
