Really enjoying this whole series, it’s great to see someone going through the same issues as I am, please continue what you are doing, it’s really helpful!
You are killing it bro!! Ripping the tips out! Wait til you get the boots off. Your progression will go through the roof. Bad style, welcome to foiling. 😂 You will get it. Keep going. Main thing you are doing right is keeping the foil toward the top of the surface. Pretty work.
Your absolutely right. With me wanting to use the 1000 in bigger surf that’s where I was getting aggravated. I just am not ready to pump the 1000 yet and in smaller surf I can barely get it going. But correct. The waves had a lot of movement.
Try some Dryland Training to improve your stance. You need a strong 'Core' and Quads. Here's 2 exercises I do. 1. Board on flat inflated Balance pad - Pumping motion with 3 lb Dumbells in hands. 2. Sitting on Balance pad, feet off ground, arms bent Swing Kettlebell (65 pds - I'm 160 pds, start lighter weight) across body. I do 40 reps ;). Try it for 3 months and you will Progress!
I have a balance board and balance pad that I have been practicing my pump on. In general I have never been much of a fitness person but I have noticed the people that really do well have drylands exercises. I appreciate the tips and will give them a try.
Have you ridden the hs1250? Comparison between the ma if so? I have the ma1000 and def having hard time overall with stalling, shows moments of how good it is but def not too user friendly so far
Sorry for the late reply. I never had a chance to try the 1250 HS. I was actually talked into the HA 925 instead which I didn't use much and got the MA1225 which was my goto wing
I can speak on the HS1250. I learned on a CF1600. I could NEVER connect many waves on it. Tried the CF1200 and it got worse. I got a HS1250 and was immediately connecting 2-3 waves consistently. That wing is fairly fast and pumps very easily. It damn near refuses to stall. The downside is the top speed is fairly limited. You tend to foil this in spots you would surf. You can't just take off behind the peak and then make it around as easy. The HA925, you can take off at a peak, go right for a half mile, come back, whip through white water and make the left of the same wave. Obviously an exaggertion but that HA wings scared me at first. The speed is absolutely insane and they tend to lock on straight. The HS series like to turn rail to rail. They pump well, but take effort, and despite the name, they are fairly slow. All relative though. a CF is ridiculously slow and hard to pump very far. HS is faster, turns well, pumps pretty far but takes effort. HA is stupid fast, harder to turn, and you can literally pump them by bending your ankles and go for miles.
Loving these clips. Super helpful! Thanks. :)

Thanks so much. Only advise is to just keep pushing yourself but keep it fun !

Thanks Matt. I appreciate the kind words. Every time I go another light bulb goes off. So stoked.
Great stuff!!! loving the series!
Thanks so much Ed
Biggest difference I saw between these sessions is that you were riding through a bunch of whitewater in this session. Cheers!

I hear the MA1000 isn't great at pumping. I had a similar experience jumping down to the Lift 150x from the 170ha
