I believe the inflection is on the 'e' - BorEas.
Boreas is a Greek God of cold north winds. "Borealis" means Northern in Latin, like Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and boreal forest.
The stress is actually placed on the 'o'. So it's bOreas
@@alteregotje2491 Would be curious to hear from Greeks. I was watching a video on the deity from an Ancient Greek channel, and they put emphasis on the 'e'.

I pulled double Boreas in one 10 pull, and the 200 times nothing... But hey he instantly carried me through GR 1-19, which I wasn't even close to doing before.
Give me ur strat cos I just got him n I'm struck on gr19
@@shernardwilson-morrison365 I used him and marri and Ai. build him with a lot of attack and quite a bit of attack speed. My gear wasn't good enough for full crit rate, but that would be good too. And then I just time his ability with dolores and everything pretty much dies, even though it was close, and I failed a few times before getting good timing

Nice vid, man. Love the break downs. I was lucky enough to get Boreas, Orim and got my Setram to A3 as well as got my Laseer to A2 and Valk to A4. Even tossed a few at Gwyn and Estrid, but no luck there. Today's pulls cost me my entire stash except for 3k diamonds I insist on hanging on to for other crap. All-in-all, pretty nice day 😁

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought Boreas should be dual faction Northerner. Boreas was the Greek god of the North Wind, Storms & Winter!
I pulled both of them today, and Orim just does not seem worthwhile to invest in - particularly skill crystals as I never have enough. I don't know if he's hot garbage but he seems like a real luxury to build and I'm not sure why I'd use him over Olague & Baron. However if you do pull him and do a guide or overview, would be happy to see he has some value. I'm sitting on both him & Azhor, so far I just can't catch a break on Legendary Defenders.
His cost is kind of ridiculous, and I just don't see how to reasonably build a Defender who can tank when he is supposed to have ATK % and Crit to also do damage.
His cost is way too much. We have to see what his damage is like
I managed Boreas, Silas and Alaura. Had to farm promotions for the first time in ages.
14:19 Defence is the standard for British English it's like spelling color "colour" different dialects "same" language.
Two things:
1.) It seems to me that when they renamed all the artifacts(which is very annoying), they renamed Zelus' Manuscript and now it's no longer Exclusive. I could be wrong about that, but if it is now available to all mages, how do you reckon that would change it's value?
2.) Tanks are in a weird spot currently. I pulled Orim, and I'm kind of excited but not really. Because the Epic tanks are so good, the Legendary tanks all kind of feel like a sidegrade, whereas the Legendary damage dealers have some legitimate, cannot-be-replaced bangers. To put it another way, sure Orim is going to do more damage than Olague, but wouldn't you rather have another Awakening on a damage dealer instead?

Zelus is still exclusive. And sidegrade is a great way to put it. Wish he had CC or debuffs instead of damage
I did pull Setram and Orim, but boy did I ride the tax train all the way through mercy on a 2x banner. Had 73 blues and 4K diamonds saved, really hoped I wouldn't have to summon American Express, but alas.
Had bad luck with pulling AOE mages. Only got Kria, even with buff she is still poor. But, got lucky and pulled Boreas today. Cruised through gear raid 1-20 using him with Ai and Marri. Very pleased.
Are you on forerunner? Did you test her post nerf?
@FastidiousYT Yes...on forerunner. As she was my only aoe mage, I maxed her out with skill crystals. She does do a bit more damage now with the buff, but still underwhelming. On gear raid 1-20 Kria does about a quarter of the damage that Boreas does in similar gear.
When did they buff Kria?
I'm assuming you're on forerunner, because I don't think I've seen any buffs for her come out on the live servers.
@@Wunderkind04 Yes...I'm on the forerunner server. Kria was updated on the 21st Dec. Her ultimate damage was increased (Now upto 200%) and her Stormcrows last a bit longer and have a 25% chance at causing anti-healing for 3 seconds plus a few other buffs. Don't get too excited though, she is still abit underwhelming from the tests I've done in gear raid 1. She is no khamet or Boreas, but at least they improved her slightly.

I've been helping a friend get their guild boss team together.she doesn't have zilitu, but to get a 4dps infernal team going I leveled orim and built for speed and he does okay. I'm sure with better gear he can do even better.

I pulled Orim, but already have Olague, Regulus, Baron, Isolde fully developed. Also pulled a Hatssut though, so that was a nice compensation!

OK, I had some time to test out Boreas and he is a beast!
At first he's just chilling there looking cool, and then he executes Frozen Purification which pretty much erases all enemies in the field.
I can't wait to get proper gear on him.
I think Silas is starting to give him the evil eye because it looks like he's slacking compared to Boreas.
I just pulled both him and azhor tonight, Orim reminds me of a Warhammer fantasy Chaos Dwarf
I pulled for Setram got Boreas first and did 20 more and got Setram super super happy.

Defenders are all underpowered in this game. The only good one that has been released post global is brokkir. Orim Crit passive should just be permanent, then he might actually be good.

Orim is hot garbage.
You havnt tested him and are just theorycrafting. I have build him and in practice there are a bunch of problems with his kit.
He classified as a tank. His only dmg mitigation comes from his 1200 rage ult that gives him Pdmg reduction. The rest of his kit is based on doing dmg. He is a dmg oriented tank. He however has no crowd control like stuns, or slows. He has the second highest attack of all defenders but the rest of his stats are average.
If I compare him to other Dmg oriented tanks that I have, those would be Torodor and Captain Reve (hvnt build Azhor yet so I cant speak much about him), he doesnt have the dmg or the CC/defensive abilities to help him stay alive and provide utility to your team. Torodor has his stun and self revive and Reve has HP regen, slows and stuns (that also helps his faction).
This means he has trouble staying alive on harder content like NM void rift. If you want him to tank you have to invest in HP% gear. His dmg is bad then. If you want him to do dmg, you have put Atack% on him, but then he dies really fast against stronger foes that you want your defenders to tank. Even then his dmg isnt great because the multipliers arnt that high.
For pure tanking almost all other leggo tanks can do a better job and ofcourse the epics Baron and Olague will do a better job.
In the comments I see you mention his useage in GB but that is just silly talk. For the infernal faction, you have A1 Twinfiend (or A5 pyros) and dolores. The dmg dealers in that team are Zilithu, Nocturne, Setram and Hex, all who dwarfs our orange bearded friend in the dmg department. Besides that, you want to use fighters not defenders in GB.
He has a good use in the faction trial for the infernals, but in any other content, for dmg or tanking he is outshined by pretty much any other hero while his cost is 25.
In conclusion, he has an epic beard and a jolly hat, but is hot garbage.
Great points for end game but wow you are missing the point. 99% of players do not have Twinfiend let alone a1 twinfiend and do not have 3 infernal dps out of Zili Nocturne Setram and Hex. He can fill in as the 3rd. Especially if you already have him built and don't want to build Imani or Azzoth or something. I am discussing and ranking him with regard to all players early through endgame - not just how he ranks for people who have every hero.
@@fastidious_gg I don't think I am missing the point. I don't think you have a point to begin with when it comes to GB. He doesn't belong in GB. If you don't have a third infernal faction dmg dealer you are better served with another fighter that you do have available, even if its from another faction.
And if you are early game, you aren't swimming in resources to upgrade and 6 star every hero willy nilly, so investing in a hero that gets outclassed by a lot of epics even, isn't sound advice.
To a degree almost every hero can have their uses. Especially if you simply don't have the busted stuff. You are demonstrating that in a fun way with your "Dare to rare" series. That is the fun part of the game. And in the end, play how you wanna play and use whoever you like. But objectively Orim is not a good hero compared to the rest of the cast, as a legendary with 25 cost, at any level.
The hopefull part of Orim is that Moonton sometimes buff heroes. Making our boy's talent that give allies Critdmg a perm buff would already be a nice step in the right direction. Then he isnt just a tank, but also a nice dmg increase for your whole squad.
That is a sad reality, only way im breaking even 6.5k on NM4 is using Orim as I have a serious lack of Infernal DPS only Pyros and Zilitu (and Dolores ofc)
I just pulled Boreas - I was excited to hear that he's a really good aoe mage since the only good one I have is Eona. I guess if I didn't pull Khamet this guy is the next best thing. And I pulled Raiden the other day too. Was thinking he wouldn't be too useful since I don't have many esotericists but his value just skyrocketed.
Question though - I've been struggling hard with GR3-18 because I'm lacking a piercer lord, good legendary piercers or Khamet. Do you think this guy might help me be able to get through it? I've taken down the boss itself on a good run, but then I get overrun and killed by that last wave.
You can certainly try him there. But someone like Brienne would be much better suited.
@@fastidious_gg I was using Arrogance, Idril, Brienne, Maul, Calypso, Eona (Hollow and Vortex for heals) and I couldn't ever get it no matter how I placed them.
I changed it up and put Brienne, Idril and Arrogance in the front, took out Calypso for Boreas and put him on the left side with Eona also on the left backing him up and Maul handling the right and it worked.
He's not ideal, but he'll work if you're lacking piercers/piercer lords or Khamet.
Then this morning I blew 7 ancients and got lucky and pulled Aracha (my first leggo lord). Tried it again with the original team and it was easy. So a piercer lord definitely makes all the difference.
And for the record, I pulled my first friggin Shamir from the card I got for finally finishing that stage (after a few weeks of trying at this point). If I hadn't pulled Aracha this morning I was going to rage-quit for a while to lick my wounds.
Pulled orim! Not upset at all (but was def hoping for setram…) he will be in my GB team when I get one more infernal DPS
Boreas was my key for beat gr1-20&21 he makes nearly as much dmg as my A5!!! Khamet, i think he is kinda broken tbh. *he is without skillups!

who would you suggest between orim or imani as a third infernal dps at GB? (Imani only awakening 1)
Probably Orim I think. Imani at A3 or A5 would be a different story.

I will say respectfully Orim is no where near B tier. Sure you can say that Azhor is fine, and Orim is fine. But in this game 9 times out of 10 its better to have someone who excels at their role. Not someone who is fine in multiple things. Why would anyone use Orim who does some damage, barely any buffing, and doesn't tank particularly well when they could use Olague and Idril to do the same job but 100x better in every way. I think Orim is D tier, not quite F hes not the worst character but hes pretty darn close. As my friend who pulled 5 orim, 0 setram or boreas in 42 divines, 30k gems and 100+ normal summons would say. Orim is trash.
Don't agree at all. Burning synergizes well in GB. He is plenty tanky. Plenty content especially before end game he can do well in as a tank. People also like to say regulus is no good and he was my main tank through my first 4 clears of NM void rift.

From the gameplay from a few high level players ive seen he needs INSANE levels of support from constance, meriel, healers and TF to even be able to do enough damage that other units can do. While wrath a5 seems to tank better most of the time. All im saying is once you break the midway point in progression he become completely outclassed.
@@fastidious_gg "Draake" has a good video on orim killing the AMR18 boss with insane gear and support and it still takes a million years even with buffs, and it takes 3 healers to keep him alive long enough.
Lol Draake is great but that is not who Orim is for. He is a very solid tank for most players. That is a B in my eyes.

Still don't have Setrum, but I pulled 2 Boreas and I think he's going to help me finally finish 1-19 to start getting that better left side gear. Also pulled Orim at the least I think he's going to help with faction trial.

Boreas can solo hard carry 1-21. Pair him with Marri, hollow, and usual sacrifice laurel strat. You could also add AI. Literally just finish 21 lol

Orim is total trash. His ult is too expensive for what it does. The counterattack skill is useless since his ATK is low, so no matter the multiplier the dmg will not be high. And the buff skill is only 25s max on deployment, so complete and utter trash. Orim is exactlty in the same league as Azhor. But Azhor at least gets dmg from def.

They blessed me with a Bore-ass A1 while trying to get an awaken for my Setram.
So Setram was the only one on the banner I didn't get. NOT complaining though. This pull session was my most intense in the period I've been playing. 7 legendary pulls in all and then used that to clear Tide 140 and get my Volka to A3.
Orim is crap and ofc i got x2 ...not usable in any thing cant build him how the fuck do you build him ??? dps he dies ?? tanky he does nothing .... he is a solid Shit tier FFFF unit literally any thing is better .
