Here is one with Wrecker Rick and crew.. Winter wrecker work at it's worst ! Glad you guys do not get this much snow. th-cam.com/video/WvALEM2pfJQ/w-d-xo.html I still think the Red Pete and Gopher can do the best jobs ! Just need a few snatch blocks for multi part lines.
Mr. Hal. Thanks for allowing me to visit your shop. I really enjoyed meeting you and Mr. Wilbert and rest of the crew. You guys are truly awesome and I really enjoy watching your videos. Please be safe and Keep It Between The Ditches!
Old Holmes 750 getting it done. That's a lot of pulling winch cable though that had to be exhausting. Need a tub of icy hot and a long nap after that recovery.
That was hard fought, lucky it wasn't in July. Your use of snatch blocks and line's brings back the old day's in the oilfield moving drilling rigs. We'll done Mr Hal.
I really look forward to videos with the old 750 in them that has to be my favorite truck in your fleet I love the old school trucks you just don't see them anymore
Love those old mechanical wreckers. Holmes built the best in the old days 500, 600, 750's. Love to see the old scotch blocks brings back a lot of memories.
God bless you and your team. You work so hard on some of these recoveries! It is so much enjoyment watching your team using all the "OLD SCHOOL" equipment. GREAT job, again. Stay safe.
*Ouch Mr Hal!!* 😣 Y'all had your hands full with this one!! That road is a soup sandwich! I bet you were exhausted after that winch out. Glad you had help towards the end. Take care 🪝
This is a good example of the difference between weight and resistance. The smaller truck could move the much heavier one because Hal used all his tricks to create as much resistance as possible for the 750. Stay safe, Chief.
That was quite the pull. That old 750 still has it back in the day. That's all you had was those old trucks and they did their job and then the new one rolls in and pulls two years out. That was a good pull. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
When you asked if you could put it on TH-cam I was waiting for him to say as long as it’s not on bonehead truckers. That was a workout when you can’t get the right angle to pull
That was a heck a a winch out there. I hate when there in places like that where you can barely get a wrecker in there. them old 750s never quit pulling though. My dad bought his first one when i was in kindergarten and im 50 now and it still runs every day just as it did that long ago. we have 66 wreckers and still use that wrecker daily.
Hey Mr Hal, Y'all had y'all's self a sticky sloppy slimy mucky mess there, didn't ya lol That ol' Holmes 750 sure got a good workout, just a pulling her best a little at a time and pop goes the weasel out comes the stuck trucks, it did help when Mr Wilbur showed up to help with the second truck Team work makes the dream work Y'all did a great job
I just imagine that they used to only have the option to do that kind of work with a team of mules or draft horses. That must have been something to see.
Drew6709 The 750 is rated as a 25 ton. Holmes winches were rated with a full drum of wire rope unlike most hydraulic winchs today are rated at the first layer which is the strongest. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Hey Hal !!! That ""OL"" 750 did the job very well !! Saved getting the other wreckers stuck too !! Too bad about the bumper ,but dodo happens as you well know !! Have a good rest after this 1 as you & the 750 deserve !! 🤔🤔🙄🙄👍👍👍👍👍
You need to know what you are doing on a job like that and you know what to do . Mr Hal you have forgotten more than some young one will know Stay safe and have a good day
Well done MR. Hal…..shame about the bumper but I am sure that with stumps left that close to a greasy road its not the first bumper or tire that’s been lost to a stump! 😉
Mr. Hal another amazing 5 🌟 recovery Gopher is amazing ole trucks brought down memory lane we had a AM General retired Army surplus wrecker we used to pull out log truck's when I lived in Maine where I was born, that road reminded me of some of those roads not fun even worse with 2' of snow, thanks God South Carolina doesn't get much or any of the white stuff ❄️ as always God bless y'all from Gaffney South Carolina viewer 🙏❤️💯
Everybody wonders why I keep my 74 Ford with the Holmes bed on it around . It might get used once or twice year but she'll out pull these modern 1ton wreckers.. She'll even out pull my 85 GMC with the single stick.. except when the chain drive let's go.. luckily I bought spare parts and it was fixed fairly quickly
Always liked when I got a two fur. The process would have been the same with the newer trucks, only difference is the spades to hold them still. The old trucks, even with scotch blocks were hard to anchor down. But the pull out and rigging would have been the same, tree and all. Good job Mr. Hal and thanks to Mr. Wilbert for helping out.
There's the one I saw the other night that disappeared on me as I was trying to comment... Nice try finally got'er done! 👍👍 Remember there's two signs a old age one is loss of memory n I don't remember the other one. Consequently I don't remember what I was saying... Y'll be safe... Good job too, Mr Wilbert.
Great to see some old tricks we used to use put to use. I guess folks in your area do not have triple chains but with some chains on drive axles and one on the steering axle I think it would have been easier. We used to carry chains for those situations. Well done as usual.👍👍👍
this is one of the best ones but you know i like it when you use the 750 i had always heard that the 750 will pull anything if you can anchor the truck the wrecker will pull way more than most trucks can hold or break frame or cable or chains but the 750 will never quit pulling unless the engine quits
I have a old 750 with web booms I have learned over the years that on roads like that catch the down side of the truck use the right cable in the left side of truck tree should be 40 degrees or less for snatch block 90 percent of the time one cable will snake it out old wrecker man since 1969 business owner since 1977
The only different between the Holmes 750 wrecker body and the rotator is the price tag and the old Holmes is slower oh sure you can extend your boom with the rotator but those booms on the 750 extended also, Mack B with duplex trans 750 Holmes ,White 9000 10 speed road ranger 750 Holmes, and White Road Boss 13 speed RR 650 Holmes all with 38,000lb signal rear axles old school baby!
Great job again there you would think they would built a decent road in there before starting the house lot .the money spent to get the trucks out could brought some nice gravel first .
I u It was a good idea that you're pulling off of the tree but both of them should be pulling off the Tree. The statch block is pulling straight and it's keeping it close to the ditch. If you would put both cables to the tree it would have pulled rear end over. But I enjoy watching your shows keep him up.
Need to do work on the road/ entrance before sending construction vehicles on a mudding road. Maybe drivers to stop and look over terrain before entering if not safe don't enter. As I was taught in as as a recovery specialist in the army. Good job on recovery.
my 500 had 1/2'' cable when i got it but was 20 years old broke soon. i replaced it with 3/8" and it will break it without straining at all its kinda my safety to not pull more than i should and keeps me from hooking to large equipment
Did You have another Block and enough Cable to 2 part the Cable between the Dump Truck & the Tree ? Or even 3 part to slide that thing over onto the Road. Thanks Much. Mike M.
Man what a tough recovery! Gopher earning its keep though!!! Love that truck! Great job Mr. Hal! As always, thanks for the videos! Stay safe!! Just curious, what does Gopher weigh?
Mr Wes We plan on doing merchandise at some point. They company that made our T shirts had machine issues so we are looking for a new vendor. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr Dennis I didn't have enough room on the first set up because ditch were on both sides. After the second hook up that might have worked. We appreciate you watching and commenting. Always open to different hook ups. Stay safe
Is there an advantage to the way you ran the lines on the second dump truck. Is it to have enough room for both snatch blocks to pull off of the front pin without them rubbing or to get one high and one level pull?
Can't believe someone would take not one but two heavy trucks into a wet muddy hole like that. Should have known they were going to get stuck. Common sense is very lacking sometimes.
One Man with knowledge and one truck can accomplish a lot. Could have had two 50 Ton wreckers out there but if you don't know how to use your equipment your gonna fail. Excellent Recovery Mr Hal. Don't let the bumper get you down it just happens sometimes. Stay safe out there.
Old Grandpa 750 did the work better than a 75 ton wrecker could ever do you just showed how a real recovery was back in the days when boats were made of wood and men were made of STEEL and the best part you never Abandon Ship you just hauled out 2 50 thousand pound dump trucks with a 25 ton wrecker Impressive Mr Hal and you did it all by yourself ... There is no need to apologize about you having trouble with the video it came out very well Mr Hal i hope you are having a nice relaxing Sunday ... Take care Mr Hal is the next video going to be halling a battleship out of the water LOL
I apologize in advance for the trouble we had posting this video. Thanks again for watching. Stay safe
Here is one with Wrecker Rick and crew.. Winter wrecker work at it's worst ! Glad you guys do not get this much snow. th-cam.com/video/WvALEM2pfJQ/w-d-xo.html
I still think the Red Pete and Gopher can do the best jobs ! Just need a few snatch blocks for multi part lines.
An old piece of fire hose around the chain will protect the tree.
@John McMickle Thanks for that tip. I have plenty of that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Boy when that 750 Holmes Wrecker came out when it was new it must have been a awesome sight to behold at that time. Rock on Sumter Towing
Mr Les Yes sir I bet it seemed like a beast. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr. Hal. Thanks for allowing me to visit your shop. I really enjoyed meeting you and Mr. Wilbert and rest of the crew. You guys are truly awesome and I really enjoy watching your videos. Please be safe and Keep It Between The Ditches!
Mr Harold Thank you for stopping by our and supporting our channel. Stay safe out there
You sure put the old Holmes 750 25 ton to her limit. It's awesome to see old machinery doing what they're meant to do.
Mr Jackson We both had a good workout. Thanks for watching and stay safe

Old Holmes 750 getting it done. That's a lot of pulling winch cable though that had to be exhausting. Need a tub of icy hot and a long nap after that recovery.

That mud sure made you work for it! Of course you won the battle! The mud should had known it wouldn't win against you! 😂
Mr K Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
That was hard fought, lucky it wasn't in July.
Your use of snatch blocks and line's brings back the old day's in the oilfield moving drilling rigs. We'll done Mr Hal.

Lot of hard work, Good job.
Mr Charles thanks for watching and stay safe
*Ouch Mr Hal!!* 😣 Y'all had your hands full with this one!! That road is a soup sandwich! I bet you were exhausted after that winch out. Glad you had help towards the end. Take care 🪝
Mr Zane Yes sir I slept well that night. Thanks for watching and stay safe
This is a good example of the difference between weight and resistance. The smaller truck could move the much heavier one because Hal used all his tricks to create as much resistance as possible for the 750. Stay safe, Chief.

I paddle my own canoe. Thanks for watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe
Excellent job Mr Hal! That looked like a tow call turning into a mini career! 😉
DPS67 It felt like it as well. Thanks for watching and stay safe
When you asked if you could put it on TH-cam I was waiting for him to say as long as it’s not on bonehead truckers. That was a workout when you can’t get the right angle to pull
Mr Robert Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe

Zippyisking Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Old school is always best. Thanks Mr. Hal for another great video.
Mr Danny Its more work but you a great feeling when you get them old school ways. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I just imagine that they used to only have the option to do that kind of work with a team of mules or draft horses. That must have been something to see.
Doak 48 Never thought of that. Thanks for watching and stay safe
That Holmes 750 is a 30 or 50 ton? Glad to see OLD IRON being kept in service. Might be slow, but still useful. Especially in this sort of recovery.
Drew6709 The 750 is rated as a 25 ton. Holmes winches were rated with a full drum of wire rope unlike most hydraulic winchs today are rated at the first layer which is the strongest. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great job as always, old gear can do the same jobs as new.gear. And that isn't just a tree,it's a Holmes Tree! Stay safe and stay busy.
Mr Neil Thanks and thank you for watching our videos. Stay safe
Hey Hal !!! That ""OL"" 750 did the job very well !! Saved getting the other wreckers stuck too !! Too bad about the bumper ,but dodo happens as you well know !! Have a good rest after this 1 as you & the 750 deserve !! 🤔🤔🙄🙄👍👍👍👍👍

Mr Daniel Yes sir. The white stuff makes things here alot different. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr Hugh Thanks for watching and stay safe
Keep up the good work love watching you on TH-cam I use to be a tow truck driver
Mr Lloyd thanks for your service in our industry and for watching. Stay safe
That was a tough one. Good job!
Mr Chris thanks for watching and stay safe

1lilfarm Thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
👌 AWESOME

Mr Michael thanks for watching and stay safe
Always liked when I got a two fur. The process would have been the same with the newer trucks, only difference is the spades to hold them still. The old trucks, even with scotch blocks were hard to anchor down. But the pull out and rigging would have been the same, tree and all. Good job Mr. Hal and thanks to Mr. Wilbert for helping out.
Mr Terry Yes sir plus about 25000 in weight. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Messy situation there. Great outcome 👍🏿
Mr Tony Yes sir it was a mess. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
There's the one I saw the other night that disappeared on me as I was trying to comment... Nice try finally got'er done! 👍👍
Remember there's two signs a old age one is loss of memory n I don't remember the other one. Consequently I don't remember what I was saying...
Y'll be safe...
Good job too, Mr Wilbert.
Mr Barry Yes sir. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Man Mr. Al i hurt for you on that recovery. been there done that. hard for one man to do.
Mr Greg I was glad Mr Wilbert was there to help pull his wire rope. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mud can be a real pain with it being sticky and slippery at the same time you sure earned your wages on this one.
Mr Mohammed Yes sir. I am glad Mr Wilbert showed up. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great to see some old tricks we used to use put to use. I guess folks in your area do not have triple chains but with some chains on drive axles and one on the steering axle I think it would have been easier. We used to carry chains for those situations. Well done as usual.👍👍👍
Ordinary Miracles No sir we don't. That would have helped. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Gravel should have been put down for the driveway before any truck traffic to keep this from happening. Great recovery, Hal 👍. Stay safe out there.
Mr Brian yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
this is one of the best ones but you know i like it when you use the 750 i had always heard that the 750 will pull anything if you can anchor the truck the wrecker will pull way more than most trucks can hold or break frame or cable or chains but the 750 will never quit pulling unless the engine quits
Dependable auto Yes sir if you can get it anchored. Thanks for watching and stay safe
That road could use a few loads of rock back dumped on to it. Hope you and your family have a great New Year Sir.
Badger PA Yes sir it could. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Another fine job by your team. Always enjoy your videos 🙂
Mr Glenn Thanks and we appreciate you watching. Stay safe
And so you spend a day there. I thought it was neat and safe.
Mr Arie thanks for watching and stay safe
Big job.
Nw Pioneer thanks for watching and stay safe
I have a old 750 with web booms I have learned over the years that on roads like that catch the down side of the truck use the right cable in the left side of truck tree should be 40 degrees or less for snatch block 90 percent of the time one cable will snake it out old wrecker man since 1969 business owner since 1977
Mr Dean Thanks for that tip. I am always willing to learn new methods. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Mr Kenneth We appreciate you watching our videos and commenting. Stay safe
Great job again there you would think they would built a decent road in there before starting the house lot .the money spent to get the trucks out could brought some nice gravel first .
Mr Alan Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Love the old steel is it difficult getting parts for them great video are the old tow trucks double drives on the rear
Mr Ray Power divider. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I bet that Holmes 750 feels like its been to the Capacitor
Mr Royce It sure had a work out. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I u It was a good idea that you're pulling off of the tree but both of them should be pulling off the Tree.
The statch block is pulling straight and it's keeping it close to the ditch.
If you would put both cables to the tree it would have pulled rear end over.
But I enjoy watching your shows keep him up.
Days4 Day Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
do bad the spotter did not see the truck bumper getting close to the tree stumps
Mr George Yes sir but should be a quick fix. The weld just broke. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Gopher and those big mechanical winches will pull til something gives in
Mr Vaughn yes sir they will. Thanks for watching and stay safe
The 750 gets it done again. Rig it up right and the 750 could pull a house off its blocks!
Mr Bob Yes sir they will. Thanks for watching and stay safe
wow, that was a job..
Mr Derek Yes sir. Glad Mr Wilbert was there to help pull wire rope. Thanks for watching and stay safe
old tarps work well for tree protectors
Mr Gary Thanks for that tip and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Need to do work on the road/ entrance before sending construction vehicles on a mudding road. Maybe drivers to stop and look over terrain before entering if not safe don't enter. As I was taught in as as a recovery specialist in the army. Good job on recovery.
Mr Rusty We appreciate you watching our channel and commenting. Stay safe
my 500 had 1/2'' cable when i got it but was 20 years old broke soon. i replaced it with 3/8" and it will break it without straining at all its kinda my safety to not pull more than i should and keeps me from hooking to large equipment
Dependable auto thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
jamie davis would be proud
Mr Bruce He loves old Iron for sure. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Did You have another Block and enough Cable to 2 part the Cable between the Dump Truck & the Tree ?
Or even 3 part to slide that thing over onto the Road.
Thanks Much.
Mike M.
Mr Mike On the first attempts I did. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Man what a tough recovery! Gopher earning its keep though!!! Love that truck! Great job Mr. Hal! As always, thanks for the videos! Stay safe!!
Just curious, what does Gopher weigh?
Mr Otis Around 25,000. Thanks for watching and stay safe
What was the weight of each dump truck?
That 750 is a beast of a truck.
Mr Colin Not sure but I would guess 50,000lds. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Great as always. Slow down you going to have a stroke. Anyway. Do you have a website or sell shirts. Love the look on the truck s
Mr Wes We plan on doing merchandise at some point. They company that made our T shirts had machine issues so we are looking for a new vendor. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I would have backed up to the rear of the dump, offset, with two two part lines, and walked the rear of the truck away from the ditch. But that's me.
Mr Dennis I didn't have enough room on the first set up because ditch were on both sides. After the second hook up that might have worked. We appreciate you watching and commenting. Always open to different hook ups. Stay safe
And yes, I do have towing experience with the Holmes 750.
Mr Dennis We appreciate you watching and commenting. Stay safe
Mr Wilbert, why din't you bring your bigger truck ????
Mr Thomas All the bigger trucks were out. Mr Wilbert showed up after I got the first one out. Thanks for watching and stay safe
💪💪💪💪
Towman127 thanks and thank you for watching. Stay safe
Is there an advantage to the way you ran the lines on the second dump truck. Is it to have enough room for both snatch blocks to pull off of the front pin without them rubbing or to get one high and one level pull?
Mr Philipa I used that as lift and pull. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Are you down one big wrecker ?
Mr Tom Yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
@@SumterWrecker Sorry I hope you get it back soon.
Wassup
Mr Michael thanks for watching and stay safe
Can't believe someone would take not one but two heavy trucks into a wet muddy hole like that. Should have known they were going to get stuck. Common sense is very lacking sometimes.
