Honestly though. It's okay to go your own pace, rather than "kill yourself," trying to go a pace faster than your current fitness allows. It's patience and listening to your body that will help you improve, not just hitting certain splits.
Seriously. It's bizarre watching these elite level runners eat like shit. If you're going to train like a champ you should eat like a champ. Salmon, steak, eggs, organ meat, fermented foods, clean foods, clean water, grass fed animals, bone broth, deenz, etc. I can't imagine the level TAS would be at if he ate cleaner.
@FromRussiaWithLove Imagine thinking that food is only about calories and sodium intake. Junk food isn't bad because it's salty and calorie dense. It's bad for a myriad of far more critical reasons.
@@azteacher26@FromRussiaWithLove you both got points, I train as a semi elite athlete (1'52" 800 at 19yo) and I feel that you can eat something a little unhealthy once in a while (still I believe I eat healthier than him so maybe he's got to tune that). Appart from that, I'm from south america so most food Is healthier here making it easier
Me with my 6:37 mile time... seems physically impossible to run even a quarter mile ONCE at the speeds these guys run at. Yet they make it look relatively easy. Great running and great video guys 👍🏻
Really good. Sub five minute mile repeats. Impressed. And then today I watched six women average 4:54 per mile for 13.1 miles in the half marathon in Poland.
spencer: Ive cleaned up my diet... Also spencer: Eats a snicker bar Also spencer: Eats BBQ Also spencer: says he eats pancakes in the morning what a stud, respect
Definitely think a video with Coach Mackey would be interesting, from his social he just seems like an incredibly intelligent thoughtful and caring guy who's much deeper then just a stereotypical running coach where running is there whole lives. Would love to hear a conversation between you two and how training is, his philosophy, and what makes this group different from the rest as your career with the Beasts progresses. This was a really cool video thinking about some of the little side conversations you could hear especially towards the end. They call you the King for a reason because you come up with the goods like this video 👑😂. Keep going keep inspiring
Awesome to see you back to your blogs wasn’t sure if it was going to be close to the same and if you’re not feeling hot about the different workouts or not feeling like the new kid and there’s something wrong with you and last great haircut look more serious 😜but still Spencer
very hard training man!!!...this training is for elite runners!!!...me i m starting now after 2 years off and i can mile repeats in 6 min...you guys you are another level!...greetings from greece to americans brothers!
It will be interesting to see how Spencer does as an 800m/1500m runner on this type of training. From the videos posted so far, it looks like all the workouts are at his 5-10k pace or slower, which is unusual for a middle distance runner, especially with competitions coming up soon.
Yeah hearing the difference between the G'Town mentality and Brooks is really interesting. Maybe the mental strength it built outweighed the not ideal paces.
The ending really stuck with me, as I am not at the same fitness level of a few of my teammates and tend to fall behind in all of our runs. You have to find the balance between pushing yourself and overdoing it, even if your teammates run faster. Also a good teammate encourages their teammates to be the best they can be, no matter where they are at
how much do you think all these guys on the beast team make $$? are they all getting a good salary from the team or do they work normal day jobs to support themselves. would be curious to know this stuff to get more insight as to the life for pro runners.. but i get it if its not something they'd want to share on video
Got a silly question - I follow also Tinman Elite, both channels have multiple guys running in the mountains, and a similar vibe, are those channels related somehow? :D

That last like 30-40 seconds of this video were easily the most important for anyone training on a team. Real good video.
Facts, I was gonna comment the same thing
Spencer pin this comment^^

super interesting stuff
Correct: train to your own fitness/ability, not to someone else's.
Spencer: "I've cleaned up my diet quite a bit."
Also Spencer: "Let me eat this snickers bar real quick."
No hate.
Then BBQ
I was about to write the same thing lmao

Make a video taking us through all the little things you've changed in your routine since starting with the beasts
Yes, please give everyone all the little intangible secrets that set pros apart from amateurs.
triniboy05 it must be because they run on dirt tracks
Shout out to Ari, he’s a beast
He's the Satan of Seattle.
I prefer moderate mile repeats with mediocre high school runners
I prefer mile repeats at 100mile race pace and giving up after 300 metres
I prefer showing up at the track but not running because I can’t tie my shoes
I prefer repeatedly eating oreos alone in my bedroom for hours on end.
@@samueltallon8608 that’s what I prefer to
I prefer walking to my fridge to assemble a 2500 calorie meal out of leftovers and frozen burritos
“Guys I’ve cleaned up my diet a lot” *proceeds to eat a snickers bar* 😂
Pancakes 2 videos in a row lol
My mans just said where's my biscuit, that's some cornbread
Gotta say Spencer running with Brooks makes me (run) happy, I'm so excited for this new chapter of yours!!
Those last 45 sec are gold. Gotta keep that ego in check when training. It’ll have you burnt out in practice if you don’t. Great workout !!
Great job Spence! You are definitely near Henry’s fitness that’s for sure! Keep up the grind and it’s always noticeable!
Ask Nick Symmonds where he got his drone lol 😂
Lol nick symmonds is the best
Been waiting to see this video for a couple days now! Already know it's gonna be hype!
Absolute god and an inspiration to everyone in the running community. Keep it up Spence!
High Quality Video, Looking forward to your races in the upcoming future!
I like getting dropped in workouts cause then people think that they’re on to something then you just blow them up on race day. Miss you spencypooh
We love you ev🖤
But drop a fucking video
i actually really appreciated hearing the rawness of the workout. continue doing that in some part of these videos.
spencer - "I really cleaned up my diet guys"
spencer - *shows himself eating not clean food*
More like mowing down garbage. His skin looks a bit better though.
I think he does it as a joke. I think this is the only time he eats junk food
good work spence. really looks like youre improving!
This video is great and I love the insight and knowledge you show us!
Yes Spencer daily uploads please!
Your videos are always so entertaining!

I am more concerned about air quality affecting all runners than Spencer eating a Snicker bar. Vote for clean air!
Could not agree more!!
very comfy video thank you spencer
Really interesting comments at the end. Excited to see more into the world of pro runners!

When Allie o has to look up to talk to the guys...a mood
These uploads 😍
Says he cleaned up his diet a bunch the chomps a snickers immediately
"If we can let our ego go...that's when we get the best training" Great quote!
Must be awesome to run/train with Josh! You’ll be able to learn a lot from him.
Am I the only one who thinks Josh Kerr sounds like Thor?😭
Spencer: Gaps are OK here.
literally a moment later: No gaps!
I prefer downhill single-peats on trails ending in bagel-covered recoveries.
Tha's Josh Kerr. Epic

Funny that of all the places you can run, it was my old junior high. It hasn't change much in all these years.
I've spent a lot of time in NW Seattle. I recognize that A-1!!!
“I’ve cleaned up my diet a lot “ gets a snickers and Texas bbq
I'm trying to better myself as a runner. How many times do you run a day?
Blows my mind how people can make running that pace look so effortless..
Hey love your videos it's ky first year of cross and soon track
So jealous of that dirt track
The Colorado Arc ended ,now we have the Brooks Beasts Arc
Cleaning up the diet- Snickers and fatty ribs. 😆
I need to catch my breath just by watching them.
What kind of things are on your diet?
Anyone know what track is playing during the workout?
7:15 is that the guy from the centrowitz workout vid with the form that everyone was commenting about
I think Spencer can kill it in a 5k ngl

Danny Mackey is a legend
i have a question
???
Can you tell me what is the song during the 7:35 plz?
How do the girls workout? I see them sometimes in the clips. They always seem spread out vs the guys.

Lol it's so weird to see all these places ur running now since they are all familiar to me 😂 maybe one of these days I'll run into you.
I've seen that dude with the funny running form in races... @6:51 I laugh every time!
Eating Snickers!! Stay away from Kerr
How much does a decent drone cost?
I need my fix
I don’t know how these runners run for like 2-3 hours and don’t listen to music?... like y’all just enjoy the sound of ur own breathing ..madness
It’s the guy from the one workout video with Matt centrowitz
What’s with that one dudes form
Silas McManus trump is horrible
If the coach is already telling Spencer stuff about how to improve his form, I’m sure this guy has too.
Thats the dude that is actually from the old Matt centro video from flotrack
