Toggle Switch Servo Positioner with Speed Control

  • A customer wanted to have a servo move to two adjustable positions for a cosplay helmet he was making. I made a modification to my standard "Toggle Switch Servo Positioner" so that it would have a speed control. This way the servo could move the part at a rate that made more sense for the helmet.
    This is the link to the part in my web store:

    Interesting video. Since you are knowledgeable in this area, I have a question. I have an, on-off-on toggle switch that I need to control with a typical servo. Currently I am operating it with a 2-56 threaded rod and a clevis, is there something made for this that I'm not aware of. Thanks for any information you may have.

    Hi can you tell me if you could post this to the UK? Also could you tell me once the servo meets it's end point. Is it still consuming power i.e. is there still a signal being sent?

    • @heyok
      @heyok  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jon Wright Hi Jon, please write me at mostlyal@gmail.com and I can be more helpful. Yes I can post to the UK. The servo still uses some power when it reaches the end point. The more a force is trying to move the arm, the more power it will use even if it isn't moving.

    Hey buddy, is there any way you can show how you have the pots wired up? I'm looking to duplicate the exact same thing.

    • @heyok
      @heyok  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The pots are wired between positive and negative of the power supply. The wiper is connected to an analog input on the micro controller.

    I am not very experienced in this area. Could put a different on/off switch on it. Or does it have to be that one?

    • @heyok

      Hi Nathan. Yes, you can use a different switch. I make a few versions of the controller. I can make it respond to a momentary switch closure or a latching switch closure. Email me if I can be more help. mostlyal@gmail.com

    Hi. Can i replace the switch you are using with a simple on/off switch ? If not, what is the type of switch needed ? I bought your product but i need to change the switch and i'm lost, there is so many type of switch available on Aliexpress. I don't understand why you are using a 3 pin switch. One last question: Does the battery drain while the motor is not moving ?

    Is there anyway you could show a set up, where you press a tactile and have it spin 180, then when you release it, it spins back?

    • @heyok
      @heyok  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure. Just replace the toggle switch with your tactile switch. For 180, you would probably need the end point adjustments set to their max positions. I don't have one of these controllers built up at the moment so I can't really make your video right now. Contact me at mostlyal@gmail.com if you need me to make one of these. Thanks, Al
