Speaking for myself, and probably countless others here... I don't usually watch you for something exciting - I more watch you to "hang out" with you, like you're a lovely person and I enjoy the time I spend watching because of that. Your exciting times are fun too, but spending time with you is the main event 💛🌻 I also never mind when you talk about the weather - we all live in different places, so it's interesting to hear about what it's like there. You are doing just fine, Josie Irons🎉
Even if you think it could be boring, I love clips of your wholesome shopping adventures in the countryside, whether it be for trinkets or to the gardening center and I think many of your viewers would agree 😂 your garden is as beautiful as ever. I live in an apartment, but watching you motivates me to do the best I can with my space 🤍
Josie, don’t you dare ever consider leaving us in the car when you go shopping at Dalesford! We need to see the latest merchandise even though I’ve never been, and probably never will go. It’s a Cotswold nirvana in my mind, like a far off unobtainable Shangri La for country gardening folk who entertain!
🤍 Josie, to dry hand washed clothing faster, you can lay it out on a towel (or several towels) and roll the item up in the towels to absorb extra water before hanging to dry. My mom taught me this...and thanks for the tip on making the bubble and swooshing the water through the fabric. We learn so much from our moms! 🤍
Toxic shock syndrome isn't caused by the materials in tampons-- per the Mayo Clinic, the use of materials associated with increased risk of TSS has been discontinued (at least in the US, and I suspect in Europe as well). It's caused by bacterial infection, which is more likely if you leave a tampon in for too long. If you're not keen on using tampons, menstrual cups are wonderful and I am a huge proponent, but typical (and cheaper and more readily available) period products are completely safe when used as directed!
I was just about to type this! Med student here, and longer amounts of time that a tampon is left in the body past its 8hr max, the more likely there is to be a build up of bacteria. Bacteria = possible TSS. We are really more concerned if fragrance or skin irritants are added to menstrual products, rather than the bleaching of the cotton. Menstrual cups are awesome if they work for you and are easier on the environment! I've used LOLA's products for years.
I’m a US med student and yes you are correct! Basically, along with bad, foreign bacteria getting into your body, you also want to avoid normal bacteria in one place getting into somewhere its not supposed to be (in this case, normal skin flora should not be inside your body). A left-in tampon will cause abnormal growth of normal bacteria, and obviously, it has easy access now into your body due to its placement. I’m not sure how it was in the past, but I also agree that TSS is mostly rare in most developed countries.
I am so glad you posted this info. Sometimes, listeners to podcasts assume that the podcaster knows what they are talking about. There is a LOT of misinformation out there. Just because someone has a podcast doesn't mean they are correct in the info they are giving. It is so good of you to share this with Josie and everyone reading these comments!@@senaitjudge-yoakam820
Yes! TSS is caused by bacteria not chemicals. One article I've read says that menstrual cups can also be a cause if left in too long, but also that half of TSS cases have nothing to do with menstruation and tampons which makes total sense as it's bacteria getting into the bloodstream, and that some cases can be linked to other infections such as certain types of throat infections, presumably a combination of the presence of more bacteria than normal and an immune system that is already working like crazy.
Josie your video's are not boring! I started watching you for the fashion content years ago, but now I can't wait for the garden updates haha! You inspired me to grow some veggies in my small garden and I've fallen in love with gardening.
Joise you are such and amazing young woman on how you don't mind getting you hands dirty in you gardening, sewing, living your family and just seems around a lovely person. You are definitely the type of wife I pray for my sons to be blessed with one day. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and life with us. I so enjoy watching your channel.❤
my granddaughter loves putting on my wedding gown and swishing around in it, since I have three granddaughters it will be very popular for quite a while. I was married in 1968 and I still love it so. I did have it professionally cleaned and boxed but years later during one of our moves it came out of the box and into a cedar chest. Still looks great. Mine came from I.Magnin in San Francisco and cost $200, a large sum in 1968.
As a saxophonist, I very much enjoyed today's gardening backing track! 😉😃 Also I never thought I'd enjoy watching someone wash a wedding dress in the bath so much either but the backing music for that was so relaxing! 🤍
I sincerely hope that you haven’t ruined that dress. I doubt that the tulle is strong enough to withstand the onslaught of products you used on it. Best wishes with it. Thank you so much for putting the lid on Char’s outbursts, and instead giving us a talk on tampons! lol! You’re funny Josie. Thanks and have a great week 😊
Hi Josie, storage depends how long you want to keep it. Best stored flat in a non acid box preferably air tight. Use non acid tissue paper (white not coloured as the eye would leach out). Put tissue in amongst the layers to avoid creases. Store somewhere like under a bed not garage or attic due to changes in temperature. Don't store on a hanger especially as your dress is heavy as it will distort the fabric. Someone suggested displaying it, a lovely idea preferably in a tailor's dummy but with exposure to air it will yellow over time unless you get it professionally treated. You'll probably find more info with a good search engine exploration. Best wishes. ❤
Hello Josie i'm obsessed with your beautiful garden & green house it's stunning! i luv how you genuinely keep on top of it with pruning and cooking with the veggies from the garden. Hope one day perhaps a cook book of you & charlie's recipes? ❤️
Josie, What courage, patience and strength to clean your wedding dress 😍👍 I love watching you cook 👏 you are so natural. Thank you 🙏 it was a real pleasure to be in your company Josie 🙏✨🥰😘
Your wedding dress is the most beautiful dress that I have ever seen in my life and can’t believe it took me 7 weeks to comment that you changed my whole world of what a wedding dress should look like it’s honestly felt like a Disney princess that came out of a fairytale 😭🤍 I just love your whole wedding it’s the bast wedding I have seen and thank you for sharing it 🥺🤍
Great job washing your dress! I was going to mention the acid free paper as well. At the beginning of COVID when everyone was organizing, I went through all of our antique & special linens & washed them, wrapped them in acid free paper from Amazon (& included notes on paper so my children could know the lineage of the items). Great video as usual!
I do watch you for something exciting - I love your lifestyle and it is exciting to see how you can go to your garden and pick fresh vegs - how amazing is that and all your hard work put in. Also don't knock that rain that is what is keeping your garden looking special and your vegs growing to eat.
Thank you for this! I had a wedding in May, and haven’t touched my dress because I wasn’t sure how to go about the cleaning. I can’t wait to see how long it took to dry! I will try this over the weekend. 🙌🏻🤍
Hijack was brilliant Josie, it had me on the edge of my seat! My friends nephew was the young hijacker, without giving spoilers to anyone. Josie, this peaceful vlog was exactly what I needed. ❤
Your brilliant at what you do, and what I admire about you it when you set your mind to something…you do it! I love your get up and go, helps me do the same so thank you darling. ❤❤❤
Josie & Charlie: WE NEED A COOKBOOK!!! A section of your fave recipes, a section of Charlie’s, and maybe even a section for homemade dog meals/treats. I can’t be the only one who would buy a copy, even if just for the pictures of your glorious kitchen garden :)
I don't know if I was more nervous watching you drive on the other side of the road or watching you wash your beautiful wedding dress! 🫣🫣 Although I do want to see Charlie's face watching the video of you washing the wedding dress! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Love your videos, Josie! You have managed to scare me, make me cry, make me laugh, and most of all have brought so much wholesome joy. Thank you.❤❤❤🦋🦋🦋
Josie, you're the only utuber that I watch that doesn't have bad slug and sanil damage to your crops. So many gardeners are really having it bad this year with the weather. What are you using
Love that you take the time to explain how you wash clothes by hand even when you think everyone already knows how. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge on so many topics I know it’s just your opinions but it’s so enjoyable and we can learn from each other! 🤍🤍🤍
A dehumidifier is a great idea! You dont want it to get that weird damp smell clothes get if they don't dry quick enough. It truly was such a stunning dress, excited to see it all clean at the end!
I’ve also watched the podcast on TSS and I was surprised she said there’s no other products on the market. Menstrual cups are available and amazing for replacing tampons.
I also heard the podcast! She mentioned that pads are treated in the same way as tampons and even the menstrual cups are not safe. That means going back to what our great grandmothers did - old rags! Nice. If these issues were male issues....they wouldn't be issues would they!!!
@@arrowone why aren't menstrual cups safe? Because they are a foreign body inside our body? My daughter sterilises them after every use, they have to be changed frequently too
you can get TSS from any sanitary product. However it’s worth noting that TSS from using a sanitary product is incredibly rare. It affects less than 1 in 100,000 women. You can also get TSS when using no period protection at all. It’s also not exclusive to these products and can transmitted by other means. For example, through cuts and abrasions, this is far more likely than getting it from a sanitary product. You just need to ensure you are changing them regularly. TSS is also not caused by ‘bleached’ products as far as I am aware. It’s caused by a bacteria.
Watching you is my 'mummy wind down time' and really look forward to all your videos! Making me really want to visit Cotswolds, the garden centre looks amazing! X
Omg, new blog from my favourite TH-cam couple ❤🇨🇦 Maybe one day we can get a cook book with Josie’s and Charlie’s favourite recipes! Your garden is beautiful

Stuff the arms as well and completely wrap the entire surface with the acid free tissue paper to make sure no fabric is exposed. Hope this helps.
What an exquisite life you have, Josie! Spending and afternoon washing your most beautiful wedding dress... with a Chanel bracelet on! 🎻🥂 I couldn't find a wedding dress anywhere, so I gave you a violin and some champagne!
Hi jose, thank you for your beautiful video’s and inspiration i love to watch your garden, your home interior and fashion it relaxes me after a long day at work to come home and unwind with a cup off tea and get inspired by you. Thank for being you🥰
Josie, sometimes I feel like as I’m watching your vlogs when you’re having those “oh I can’t remember what I was saying” moments there is a part of you that thinks you’re silly or a failure or something. I might be totally wrong but as a fellow perfectionist maybe I have picked up on something, but also maybe not. What all your regular watchers would say : We don’t see your whole life, but please know that we all love you. We are here, wide eyed, even in your most forgetful moments. In fact, actually we love you more for these moments because you real. We’re sure that for this one positive comment you endure many negative silly negative comments but we hope you see this and know that the content you make is important to us and we are grateful for the inspiration, especially on days when I we feel that we just cba. ❤
Well done on cleaning your wedding dress! i think its adorable how such precious pieces of tapestry tells a story about you and Charlie defiantly a family heirloom, would you consider on building a 3 side glass window cabinet and display in a hallway? i just think it would be a shame to hang away in the wardrobe its defiantly a work of art x
Daylesford is never boring and you must not think you are and what you say is. You have so much energy it makes me feel lazy. I am a homebird and walk my dog every day but if you have less money you generally shop less so I try to limit my shopping expeditions to food and toiletries and the odd garden centre trip. Christmas roses are my love at this time of year.
Not unusual at all that you talk about the weather! I like it as I am sure all gardeners do and I am envious of all your rain - and love the cooler weather!
I'm just a little bit obsessed with you're video's 😂, there so lovely and I get so inspired, by you, I try to create my little bit of cottswolds into my garden, we love to visit the cottswolds from time to time, carry on with your brilliant video's ❤🤍
Try a diva cup and thinx/knix products. I also have endometriosis and I live in the thinx sleep shorts and tights for a few days. They are so comfortable, and most importantly, I experience less pain. I have a few pairs of each. You are doing a lot of machine drying, so I went up a size to deal with shrinking. The company that cleaned my wedding dress put it in a preservation box with a clear window and acid free tissue paper. For our anniversary, I display some things from our wedding around the house, including the dress box.
Hi Josie, all your content is lovely, fun and informative NOT boring at all. I hope you get some sun and warmth soon. I live in Boston and this summer has been just awful with all the rain (in fact, the sun just came out it has been raining buckets since this morning)
Josie Darling I would love it if you would include recipes down in the description area. I wouldn't use any type of tampon, natural or not...yes it's a pain to wear other things especially when wearing workout clothes, but there are ways to work around that. PS: Your content is NEVER boring 😘
Any type of tampon, bleached or not, can cause toxic shock syndrome. TSS is caused by certain strains of bacteria and is more likely to occur if you leave your tampon in for too long. It is not caused by "toxins" present in the tampon itself but by the toxins secreted by bacteria.
Great job on washing your wedding dress! Would have done the same. Curious how you gonna store it🥰 I think it’s a romantic idea to wear it every few years again on your anniversary days
Gosh well done Josie. Ur idea to use dehumidifier is v good idea as if it stays damp a long time I’m afraid it’s gonna smell musty 🤍 I wonder if we get some warmer afternoons this week Charlie could lift it outside and hang it up high so it can air dry better?
Wow the colour of the water after washing your wedding dress ( mind you it been dry dusty etc ) i am sure it will smell divine and be much cleaner than it was ..Remember my mum teaching me the same way to hand wash 😜. That salad looked really tasty 😋 👰♂️🤍🤍. Have a lovely Evening 🥰
🤍 Loved this Josie! Great job on cleaning your wededing dress! I still have to do mine and it's been since last summer 😅 But seeing as how much work it could be, I may resort to stuffing it in a large laundry mesh and doing it in the washer, then air drying it in a spare shower stall.
Lovely video Josie 🌼 I quite enjoy your garden tour as I can relate to your love for the garden. I too have a garden space with greenhouse that I love to tend to as well.
This vlog wasn’t dull at all! Watching you 🧼 wash the wedding dress was pretty interesting . I only worried when you mentioned the Vanish! I worried about the tulle and the silk. ( I’ve had horrible luck with oxy ! Idk why 🤷♀️) but yay for you! Phew 😅 I learned another interesting tip for whites on TH-cam a few weeks ago and tried yesterday. You moisten a white wash cloth…you put just 2 or 3 drops of Dawn dish detergent on the wash cloth ONLY. Then toss in with your whites with NO bleach! I was super surprised it worked! And better than adding bleach! Ohhh I hope you chose the right hour and a nice sunny and dry windy day so it can dry on a clothes line! I love the sight of freshly washed clothes and linens on a line! 💕 🌳
Hey Josie, I enjoyed the vlog. I wanted to let you know that I was told to wrap my dress in a blue sheet. To keep the colour of it white. I've been married for 31years now and my wedding dress is still lovely and white. I couldn't find blue sheets those days so I got a white bed sheet and died it blue. With fabric colourants.
I have never used tampons due to the bleach used. I have sewn reusable pads and liners and have probably saved about AUD $1000 in the last 5 years! I find it to be more comfortable and versatile as I can choose how many liners I use verses flow, and have sewn the pads to fit better and be wider then store bought pads. The fabric verses bleached pad feels better too as it always seemed to make me feel a bit sick (sort of burnt) toward the end.
Bravo! Can you imagen in the olden days, when they had to wash all those heavy gowns?! I think you did a great job cookie. Thank you very much for this lovely vlog. Of course, having your furbabies helping you with your chores, was a cherry on top
Josie I have a GREAT IDEA FOR YOUR DOWNTIME!! I want to send you a pic of my back yard fence area and you could give your advice what I could plant that would still be pretty in the fall and winter!! We are in NC in the US and we haven’t seen snow in 3 yrs.. so our winters are pretty mild here. It’s your fault that I’m bothering you with this because you (and Charlie) just know how to make things so beautiful!! The Iron Gate should be your garden channel ;).
@@eshaibraheem4218 We all know this girl is busy that’s for sure. Thanks for pointing that out. Gardening is something that she loves and we see how great she is at it!! I don’t mind at all asking her for advice!!! If only I could be her neighbor, how great would that be!!!!
ohhh , my gosh it was a great idea and in love when you show us your trip the please there is so pretty , I have my wedding dress with white tissue paper and a white box with some perfume 👰
Here in Australia we have a brand called Tom Organic which make organic cotton sanitary products which are free from chlorine and dioxin bleach. It’s a female owned business as well. They seem to be the cleanest on the market I’ve found and are available in our supermarkets.

We’re sure that for this one positive comment you endure many negative silly negative comments but we hope you see this and know that the content you make is important to us and we are grateful for the inspiration, especially on days when I we feel that we just cba. ❤
Hanging the dress outside when the sun comes this week will be perfect, it dry so quickly in a warm breeze!
I can't wait to see how your wedding bouquet has turned out ;)
Daylesford is never boring and you must not think you are and what you say is. You have so much energy it makes me feel lazy. I am a homebird and walk my dog every day but if you have less money you generally shop less so I try to limit my shopping expeditions to food and toiletries and the odd garden centre trip. Christmas roses are my love at this time of year.
It was so refreshing and peaceful watching this episode 👰♀️
Not unusual at all that you talk about the weather! I like it as I am sure all gardeners do and I am envious of all your rain - and love the cooler weather!
I'm just a little bit obsessed with you're video's 😂, there so lovely and I get so inspired, by you, I try to create my little bit of cottswolds into my garden, we love to visit the cottswolds from time to time, carry on with your brilliant video's ❤🤍
Hello, I live in the United States and enjoy your videos, your home and grounds are wonderful.
I love it when you take us shopping!
I’m using a menstruation cup for 6 years now and I love it👌🏼
Hi Josie, all your content is lovely, fun and informative NOT boring at all.
Excellent content thanks. OMG Josie it wells like AUTUMN!! 😱
Have about a moon cup instead of a tampon? I’ve used a version for years and best change I’ve ever made
Josie you can try Diva cups! It's eco friendly and better than tampons in my opinion!
Any type of tampon, bleached or not, can cause toxic shock syndrome. TSS is caused by certain strains of bacteria and is more likely to occur if you leave your tampon in for too long. It is not caused by "toxins" present in the tampon itself but by the toxins secreted by bacteria.
Just curious as to why you did not have it professionally cleaned and packaged for storage?
Great job on washing your wedding dress! Would have done the same. Curious how you gonna store it🥰
I think it’s a romantic idea to wear it every few years again on your anniversary days
Great video Josie. A bit of everything.
🤍🤍 Once your dress is dry you could give it an extra refresh in the fashion fridge.
I am so impress with the way you cleaned your wedding dress. ❤
🤍I hope your dress washed is as perfect as it was on your wedding day x
🤍 Well done Josie cleaning your own wedding dress is no mean feat !! A great job xx
Great blog I too was taught by my mother how to hand wash grommet I was about 9 years old great skill to have for your delicate clothes 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
I always love watching your videos and don't think they're boring at all ❤😊!
Ok so the montage with the veg picking and the saxamaphone took me to a magical jazz garden of possibility
Lovely video Josie 🌼 I quite enjoy your garden tour as I can relate to your love for the garden. I too have a garden space with greenhouse that I love to tend to as well.
Josie, I love love your dress, seriously consider displaying your dress in your dressing room. Congratulations again ❤
Really enjoyed watching you washing your wedding dress.....who knew😀. And educational as well as relaxing😊. Thank you❤
You are amazing, I don’t think I could’ve handle the cleaning of the wedding dress 👰🏼♀️🤍🥰myself!
Hope you continue with the wedding dress saga. You were very brave taking on that washing project. Please reveal how it turned out.
I'm amazed by how you keep track of everything and keep everything growing so well. I don't know if I will ever have a green thumb lol
You should have it professionally stored they have acrylic boxes that you can display it in it’s so lovely I would do that 😊
🤍🤍 I dream of living such a life!! Loved it!
I’ve been using tampons from a brand called Ohne for years. They’re non-toxic, bleach free and made from organic cotton. I’d definitely recommend 💖
It's usually blue tissue paper they suggest.
As a Jazz music lover I truly enjoyed all the music in this video!
Spectacular wedding 👰dress cleaning well done you 🤍 xx
I have never used tampons due to the bleach used. I have sewn reusable pads and liners and have probably saved about AUD $1000 in the last 5 years! I find it to be more comfortable and versatile as I can choose how many liners I use verses flow, and have sewn the pads to fit better and be wider then store bought pads. The fabric verses bleached pad feels better too as it always seemed to make me feel a bit sick (sort of burnt) toward the end.
There's no harm from the bleach at all - toxic shock has nothing to do with chemicals, it's a bacterial infection.
Bravo! Can you imagen in the olden days, when they had to wash all those heavy gowns?!
I think you did a great job cookie. Thank you very much for this lovely vlog.
Of course, having your furbabies helping you with your chores, was a cherry on top
Hello Josie. Your videos are always great to watch. Always have something new and exciting to tell . Fantastic lady. ❤xx
Love that idea!!!
I don't think Josie has any downtime, Jana, as we can see from her TH-cam videos alone.
@@eshaibraheem4218 We all know this girl is busy that’s for sure. Thanks for pointing that out. Gardening is something that she loves and we see how great she is at it!! I don’t mind at all asking her for advice!!! If only I could be her neighbor, how great would that be!!!!
🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 Loved this video Josie . Thank you for sharing 😘 xx
ohhh , my gosh it was a great idea and in love when you show us your trip the please there is so pretty , I have my wedding dress with white tissue paper and a white box with some perfume 👰
I love going to Daylesford with you , please continue to take us with you💖
Here in Australia we have a brand called Tom Organic which make organic cotton sanitary products which are free from chlorine and dioxin bleach. It’s a female owned business as well. They seem to be the cleanest on the market I’ve found and are available in our supermarkets.
