    Is it normal if I can only to that rotational swing for only my left leg and not my right one? What can I do in order to improve the weak side about this?

      Most of us have a dominant side! Hang in there and you will improve. One of the best ways to practice is in slow motion. This will develop a lot of control, balance and strength.

      Thank you 🙏I started Martial Arts 25 years ago at age 10, I'm 35 now.
      I earned my blackbelt in Karate at 15 years old and ITF TKD blackbelt at 17.
      I started kickboxing at around 17 years and went onto compete around the world in TKD, Kickboxing and Karate.
      It's been my life's passion.
      Retrospectively, I did take a little long to undertake gradings. I think my focus was on attempting to win world championships etc.
      Currently I have a 4th Dan in a few styles of Karate, a blackbelt with WAKO Kickboxing, and a 3rd Dan in ITF Taekwon-Do.

    Hi there I am really enjoying your clips I am a 1st Dan I really struggle with the speed required to make this kick practical in sparring if I am doing bag work I can land with nice power and decent accuracy butwhen it ocmes to sparring I struggle to set this kick up especially against quicker opponents, I am just over 6ft and 235 to 240lb so I am aware my fitness needs work and I am making that a work in progress and so naturally through this my fitness strength and balance should improve making the kick quicker. I was wondering are there any specific drills that you use to work on the speed of kicks overall.
    Thanks for you r fantastic videos I really enjoy them and using them to try and improve my Taekwondo.

    Why do you perform the turning kick with your flatting foot ? We kick with our footpad. What are the benefits or is there in practice no difference ?
    Thank you for these nice high quality videos, really appreciate it :D

    • @VanRoonMartialArts
      @VanRoonMartialArts  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Flat sole of the foot gives you more reach, heel concentrates the force if you want to do damage. If you just want to slap someone with control, you use the sole. Hope that helps
