That's actually very much not the case. Theres groups of thousands of people that have retired early. It's just that the ppl who will be covered in news articles will of course be the ones that want to publically talk about their lives, so they have blogs and podcasts.

And besides, "retire" doesnt have to mean "never receive another dime again," if you retire at 30 you're probably going to want to keep doing productive things of some sort, and sometimes that means some money will come in. By retiring, these people mean that they have freedom to decide when, how, and why they work, instead of caring about the money.

This guy like most financially successful people are financially independent but they are not retired or have time freedom. To me retirement mean time freedom, which is when you stop trading hours of your life for money. Its when you live on the income you net worth generates which is living on stock market gains and/or real estate rental income. Financially independent is when your net worth is high enough where you can retire but you choose not to. Never the less its quite impression to reach financially independent at such an early age. For me i'm trying to reach early retirement/time freedom.

This is Inspiring! People must realize money is a tool, nothing more. With enough of this “tool” it makes the job of life much easier but doesn’t provide happiness. I see these videos and almost all of these FIRE people are single or a couple, almost none have a normal 4-5 person family. I always think what happens when you start Having kids? Kids are expensive AF.

Alicia Weenum it’s not true. I lived in NYC for 7 years and I still saved. I would argue it’s more reasonable because you don’t need a car and have flexibility in apartments with roommates (which isn’t frowned upon in your 20s there).

Emily Browning studies have shown that it takes people who live in NY up to 10 years to become financially stable. I’m constantly seeing the financial make up of people and a large amount of them have little to no savings. That’s why I said many and not all.

In 2010 weren't there free downloadable software available so that anyone with a business could make their own websites? I just never understood how there was money to be made in this anymore by that year unless if you had a huge college background and were specifically employeed by like Target to be a part of a 100 man team to maintain an "innovative" high volume website. That to me is a different level then just throwing up a page with some contact info and not really needing transaction encryption programming and licensing.
