If I remember correctly that’s the non conventional method I was tort to make the connections at the ceiling rose ie the conventional method?, but what ether way you do it it works . Great video clear and informative instructions. Gaz why don’t anyone make the connections in the ceiling rose any more with two way switch cables to each switch? Thank you Gary - clear as always. The downlights I am planning to run do not have an earth terminal so should I still run a CPC between them and if so what would I do with it at each downlight. Also what is the maximum number of 5.5W downlights you would recommend on each circuit? Many thanks.

This has finally shown me what a bulls up I did at re-wiring my hall and bathroom light. Got 2 gang going to hall and bathroom with the hall one connected to a 1 gang switch, at least now I can go back and wire it properly. I do have a question though. Is there a way to wire it so that the light that is connected to the two switches can make the 2 gang one into a 1 gang switch so there is only one switch controlling the hall light? Like maybe using wago connectors to disconnect one of the 2 gang switches
Hello mate this is really helpful, I wondered if I could as you a quick question! Moved into a new house, changed a 2 gang switch which controls 4 lights - 2 on the landing and 2 in the hall. When you turn the landing ones on, you can't turn it off upstairs! I assume I've just got the wrong wire in the wrong port?

Question: if you are doing a x2 2 gang switches where both are 2 way switches + the power cable running to the first 2 gang box rather than to the light fixtures first.. am I right in assuming you'd have 1 power cable entering the first box, as well as 2 cables to the 2 fixtures, and 2 cables to the other 2 gang box. So 5 cables in the first box? and if that's correct, does the main power cable to the first box also stay at 1.5mm, same as the switches and lights, or is it better to upgrade to a 2.5 since its feeding 2 light circuits?

Hello.why did you remove the line from the common to L2,when the light would have worked just the same.
How do add a new light under stairs when you have only a two way switch available is it possible
