No kidding, and simply requiring an email at signup would actively make botting just a little harder. Right now making a new account takes literal seconds.
What makes this rough for me is, personally, I honestly struggle with the idea of some form of external moderation, mostly since 2020 onward, because of what it was twisted to do (and still is honestly). However, setting that aside, and remembering how I viewed things before 2020, there has got to be some way to at least reduce some of these issues. For the botting, while I am not overly a fan of requiring emails, I do understand the reasoning and can't really think of any other way to at least cut down the numbers at the moment (although like you said, it may also not be addressed because it could make things look more profitable than they really are). In regards to just the moderation of content on Roblox, on the one hand, the post-2020 side of me wants to say that it's better without it, and that it's just, unfortunately, the nature of people to do some nasty things. On the other hand, the platform is intentionally geared towards kids, and people who harm or manipulate children or animals I strongly struggle to pity. I honestly am in weird place where I feel like a cynical idealist sometimes, seeing what could be clash with what is, but in the end, this is just my opinion. While I don't disagree that there needs to be moderation (I don't play it myself, but I have a few cousins who do, all younger than I if I might add), what I struggle with is the how. And more than that, it'd need to be both consistent and fair, somehow. Sorry for the rant ha, the video was well summarized I think. It definitely provided me some insight into what goes on at that end.
All good! I can certainly see what you mean to some extent, but the problem is that because its a platform aimed at kids, moderation being tight is an expectation for most people. Glad you thought the video was well put together! Hope ya have a lovely day :)
Sorry, my last comment got deleted for some reason I don’t like Roblox recent one children listen 2 too many you know what I mean reason 3 I hate inflation
The amount of bots in Roblox is sickening. It’s like a proving ground for other games.. and spoofing is rampant.
