Great video! The reason they don’t burnish edges is because they use chrome tanned leather, you cannot burn the edges in the same way you can do with veg tanned leather. Saddleback has a good looking rustic style with a rustic leather, in contrast to Ashland for example they use Horween veg tanned with a more classic style and veg tanned leather options if you want.
Great review, very impressive editing. On every one of my Saddleback wallets the edges naturally burnish over time so it doesn't matter much. However, on one wallet I burnished it myself and it is very easy to do if you want that. The designs are very durable and develop a lovely patina. Thanks!
WAHT YOU SHOULD KNOW: SaddleBack leather is a really unique and high quality leather craftsmanship that WILL make pieces of practical art that will survive longer than you do. Keep in mind, their prices have apparently been increasing in price, and the quality of their leather was recently called into questioned as they transitioned to an outsourced Mexican-workforce, rather than american (if youre curious, they were treating full grain leather, the highest quality, with the same tools that were used to treat lower quality leathers, which leaves the finished surface a mix of the original top grain leather with an unintentionally integrated lower quality leather, usually top grain, which is the next highest quality bracket.) With that being said, worse leather exists for far more money, at least for now. comparably, these are gonna take a minimum wage worker 4 hours to afford in my country. the bags being 10x the price would be the numbers of hours multiplied likewise. The quality of the bags is otherwise unmatched, and the unashamed style has a longstanding polarizing identity in the leather workmanship community. They display creative techniques, design ingenuity and stylish durability to make one of the most price competitive "Buy it for life" products that will unregrettably reach the relatively uninformed buyer
Wow I bought my dark brown saddleback wallet maybe 5 years after a video you did. It’s still in incredible condition after daily use! Would def buy from them again, only problem is I don’t need to 😂
it depends on what you are looking for in a notebook. My brother has their portfolio, and it's great for top-folding notpads. But if you want a journal, I might go to a different leather company.
I’m with you on the unfinished edges, man. It just feels incomplete without the burnishing. Like no pride was taken in its appearance at all. It feels like shipping an incomplete product.

Putting wallet in the back pocket has security issues (it's the easiest way of pick pocketing)
Not quite a lifetime (yet) but my Saddleback leather wallet has been in daily use for 13 years and it's still as good as day one.

I say yes because I carry the large bifold saddleback leather wallet in Tobacco and I love it I use it every day
I've owned many, many Saddleback products. I've never been disappointed. They're a bit expensive and worth every penny.

Did they used to be made in America? I was disappointed to see that they are made in mexico
@ used to be made in America, still done by the same company and to the same quality I believe, but it is now manufactured and assembled in Mexico

Great problem to have! 😁
Ain’t no minimalist wallet for cowboys and men. Bring cash it will always thicken up and cash is king
plenty of real men use wallets. That's a silly statement.
Nice vid mate
thank you!
anyone have a suggestion for notebook? I am close to buying their medium portfolio cause I am unaware of alternatives

I purchased my bifold 10 years ago, it's held up very good. Great video
that's awesome! Great wallets for sure.
