One of the great live sets ever. Triumph's US Festival set was so tight and great. All of it. Gil Moore the drummer also wails on vocals. "when the lights got down" from this show is great and he leads.
I was towards the back, stage right for Triumph. I was about 20 rows back(center) for the Scorpions....with a rando young lady on my shoulders. ‘Merica!
I was never a big fan but yes the lead singer has a great voice I was curious on what happened to them and in 1993 the band broke up because their record label fell through You got me up early Rebecca it's going to be a grait day.❤
Great band , absolutely blew the power out of our school dance at WHSS it was a fantastic show!! Plus we got a couple of days off while they fixed the power 😂
Good morning, beautiful one. Triumph is one of the greatest bands ever. Why is it that Canada keeps coming out with these 3 piece bands? That sound like more than 4 people.
My female cousin got me into Triumph in 1981. She lent me her VW Rabbit to learn how to drive stick for a few weeks and she left a Triumph cassette in it. I met a girl from Sizzler Steakhouse (my waitress) and she was into U2 and I was really into Metal but I saw Day 3 at US Festival and Triumph was Day 2 in 1983. There really was no way to lose on the entertainment. Plus, the hot waitress treated me real good for years after. My fav song is Little Boy Blues off Thunder Seven.
I was there all three days, it was one month before I got out of the Marine Corps, I had a great time, Triumph was one of the best, if not the best band there !
Rik Emmett, the lead singer and lead guitarist has an amazing guitar solo that you need to check out. It's not very long, but it is the most complex guitar solo I have ever seen. And I've been listening to music for a long time. It's called midsummer daydream, it's played on a 12th string and it is absolutely and unequivocally epic. No lyrics, just Rik Emmett being the extraordinary guitarist he is.
@@garytate3075 I met a cousin of one of Alabama once, he was hanging out with some friends. He was playing at 12 string and I asked him if he had ever heard of midsummer daydream, dude busted it out and played it perfectly. Apparently he filled in occasionally for the band when they were on tour. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be played on a 12th string, but I'm old and I can't say for sure.
@@garytate3075 I think you are right, I think I was conflating the Alabama cousin with Rik Emmett's performance. th-cam.com/video/oXl1GWLhx7k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_Yifzc-10K3_UYJF
❤Hello Lovely Rebeka Check out The drummer Gil Moore's He's Just as Awestome as Rik Emmett, from the Concert A Night of Triumph, 1. Tears in the Rain, 2. Allied Forces, 3. Follow your heart ♥, 4. Take a stand, & then Look for Video Spellbound 🤘 ❤ You'll Be Impressed 😘 have a Blessed time ❤
Check out Follow Your Heart from the concert in Halifax. The drummer Gil Moore is on lead vocals and is really AMAZING. The entire performance was good as well.
👍❤ LATE 1950'S TO EARLY 1980'S 🎸 BEST VIRTUOSO MUSICIANS / MUSIC.....PERFORMANCES......WAY BETTER LIFESTYLE & MORE FREEDOMS ( WAY LESS SOCIALISM / COMMUNISM )
There's nothing like going to concert with a few hundred thousand of your closest friends... Triumph was an AMAZING TRIO , especially live! Dream Theater, Pull Me Under, would be a great next song to do.
It's pronounced Try------------umph. How soon we forget! Sorry. Nobody likes a smartass. Once again, you've managed to bring back some great memories. And FYI, many rock songs written during the 80s were longer than 5 minutes. The duo between Gil and Ric was fantastic. I'll always remember that day; in fact, aside from the blistering heat, I think you would've loved to be there watching a handful of rock bands that became legendary. The atmosphere was electric. And the food? All they had were hot dogs, lemonade, and water. But we could've cared less about anything but the music. We were in our early 20s and unassumingly invincible. Believe it or not, The tickets were only $25 bucks! I remember driving home that night and our ears were still ringing. So we lost a little of our hearing that day------well worth it. A great day, indeed. Gone, but never forgotten. Rock on!
Great review, I can tell you're hooked, good. Now you should do an indepth full listen to the TRIUMPH masterpiece album, "THUNDER 7." It is better than a rock opera and they explore the element of TIME. Two songs with great videos are, "Follow Your Heart," live version and, "Spellbound." However, the album has some incredible surprises in song, showcasing Rik Emmett's pristine vocals and guitar work.
basically you only react to rock and roll, because you never reacted to (nightwish), siphonic metal band, which has the best vocalist ever, (floor jansen)
Great Rock & Roll From Canada 🇨🇦 ! Excellent lead singer & a great performer. Underrated band !

I was at this show we we're 300,000 strong that day
And damn it was hot. I never had so many hotdogs and bad lemonade. I was about three rows back center stage. Great memories!

They were a great band. Being a Canadian power-trio they were always kind of unfairly living in the shadow of RUSH. The two bands are very different.

Never heard him play it on a 12 string, only on a six string🤔

So, Rebeka I love the way you pronounced Triumph, so sweet you are. Great band even better Reactor!!!!
🌼Thank You🌼

Rik Emmett's voice probably matured to higher levels after he had left the band after 1988. Check out some of his solo work.
Nice
