I live right down the street from brayton point too, seeing these two giants fall right before my eyes was other worldly. In the end though building those things was a massive waste of money, they didn’t even stand completed for a decade lol.
@@MayaPosch They want to build a factory that manufactures the wiring for off shore turbines I thought? Hence why the main building to the power plant still stands
I never thought I would want to see what it's like to have a cooling tower fall on me, but that slowmo shot of the explosives going off made the sacrifice worth it. People who say this isn't art are goddamn liars.
Love watching the videos, should do a second book on demolition and I would like to see the buildings that were imploded in the movie "Herbie Rides again"
Everybody thinks this is amazing but I have worked on a site after they blow down 3 cooling towers and a 520 ft stack it took 8 months to clear and tidy up the site. The job was a head ack
Old buildings go down for new stuff to go up. These guys are actually really good at what they do. These clouds dissipate rather quickly, and for many of these buildings, this is the only way to safely remove them. I get the sentiment but theres a lot of thought that goes into these demolitions that you might not see on a surface level.
@@NALTOHQ I get all that and agree but I've seen other demolitions where they have areas being wet down in anticipation of the particulates that will be generated by the explosions, even at the base of rocket launches they abate the smoke with water canons, obviously this ads expense to the demolition but coating the entire area in dust particles that will be around for decades is not prudent. In most cities construction sites get fined for making dust which is nothing compared to a building going down. It wouldn't take that much to pre treat the area with water to at least mitigate the dust etc in my opinion. It's about the money.
Saying "five" or "four" can be mistaken for "fire" in a tense and/or loud environment, it's fairly common practice(especially in military forces) to either skip the 5-4 or skip the entire last 5 during a verbal countdown to avoid misunderstandings.

I live a mile from Brayton Point. Seeing those two 500 foot towers come down instantly raised the value of every house in Swansea and Somerset..
Don't worry, they'll be replaced with 300 meter tall wind turbines before long :)

And increased the cost of electricity dramatically.
And even though this was in America , Somerset and Swansea will still get me think it was in the UK 🙃
It's always impressive to see a concrete structure fold like a piece of cloth.
I've been enjoying your videos since the last century, and y'all are only getting better
Outstanding! I really enjoyed the slow motion and close footage where the det cord burning could be seen.
Great compilation.
Thanks for watching!
That last pair collapsed like wet carboard, amazing shots
Glad you enjoyed it
3:38 WOW! 🤩 That's such a cool angle up close.
Amazing work.
Thanks for watching!
Obviously y’all are free to do as you please with your channel. But would you maybe consider a casino and/or stadium/arena compilation?
Absolutely well done, a fluid demolition. Quite graceful folding of the towers. It's CDI, can we expect anything less? Thank you for the ride!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
J'ai l'impression que c'est les structures parmis les plus compliquées a faire tomber au bon endroit. Spectaculaire !
Merci!
CDI precision is just amazing!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Is this hard work?
Fantastic compilation, thank you!
WOW! Both cooling tower imploded, fold and crush like soda!
Great video, I would love to see in person. How would a person find out where and when there is going to be a controlled demolition?

How often is there a problem with unexploded ordinance after demolition, and how is that handled?
Coolingtower Demolition, Inc.
Just fascinating.
Thank you!
So hard-core!
It seems so unnatural to see huge swaths of concrete warping and folding. I love these videos.
Yooo like your videos and also first
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!

No one shows the pile of rubble ever. It would be interesting to see just how big that is.

Jea Cooling Tower Jacksonville Total (2:19)
……the synchronicity of the demolishing, falling water cooler towers’ is almost balletic, imho………
It’s crazy that they can just fold like paper!

Can these guys spell dust abatement? Nothing like spreading God knows what across the entire county, gherkins. CDI, Clouds of Dust Initiated lol.

Why don’t they say 54321 after they say 10 9 8 7 6? I always wondered that
