I can't imagine how Trap would've felt if he did get reverse swept. So many 2nd place finishes - 6 in a row before this final. All in big name tournaments, all of them were against legends of the game. He had to swallow some horrible 4-0s along the way. At 3-0 it must have felt like he was making the long-awaited breakthrough, and at 3-3 he must have felt that familiar feeling of being another player's final stepping stone to a championship. He has matured as a player ever since his breakthrough in 2014 and this time, his resilience and consistency showed through. Congrats to Trap! As for Stats, he is a legend of the game as we all know and I'm sure he will be right up there again. The protoss championship drought has ended.
Great way to end GSL! I'm not usually a fan of PVP but this one was fun to watch. Thank you GSL for a great season and all the great videos and music :)
@@darkjak224 Winter IDK what the thing about winter is but it seems like that most of the seasons, not just in SC2 but ever since BW.. It was Winter ?, it's Protoss champion :P
What a series for our first P major win in a long time. And the victory possibly due to a mistakenly built 2nd forge... Honorable performance from both players, GG !
There was a song playing during a short break between the last couple of matches. Its seems it has been cut out. It goes "I want you baby you know I like you...(female singer)" Can somebody please help me. I really like that song.
I believe that is The Four Horsemen - No Lie. Check the album Something True for a lot of the great tunes they’ve been playing with these casts this year
I'm glad Trap finally won a title after a lot of 2nd finishes. He was always a shadow of Champions from Jin Air Green Wings. I wish he have won before his team was disbanded.. But he was a Teamless on this Super Tournament and Finaly a Protoss Champion after a very long time..
Very nice tournament and good to see that protoss can win a major tournament. As always thanks to Artosis and Tasteless as english casters. Highest respect to all players and congratulations Trap for to your first GSL.
To be fair, this is not regular GSL but the Super Tournament. There was no Super Tournament back then. This year, the GSL prize was $25k, so combined that's $35k, which is still less than half, but not as dramatic as $80k -> $10k.
"The battery patch" certainly made it's mark this season. Happy for Trap, he seems like a genuinely good guy too. GSL continues to be the best SC as are Tastosis. gl hf gg
@@leonardoprada1369 I've only been following SC2 since 2018. Stats lost every major finals since, and with the army now its kind sad he didn't get a win, after clawing back from 0:3. Trap is OK as well, but has lost only 2 major finals since I think. Plus he has time untill army calls.
Goddamn such a good series! I was rooting for Stats, but Trap really earned this. I thought for sure he'd fall apart from the pressure in game 7, but he kept it together and didn't hesitate to attack when he saw a chance. Stat slapped his attack down the last 3 games, so it would have been totally understandable if Trap was too scared and hesitated long enough for Stats to muster a defense.
Toss does so much better in these faster formats. Zest, Stats, Parting, even Zoun, all play nothing alike, with Trap somewhere between all of them. If you're good against Inno, then you're good against the other top Terrans too, and the same goes for the top Zergs, but if you're good against Stats, then that doesn't mean anything against Parting. The standard GSL format is really bad for Protoss. I wonder if they'll change it as time goes on.
These formats favour players with more narrow skill sets and there is more luck involved. More people would agree that to be a truly good player you need to be strong against everyone and standard GSL is a better test of overall skill. But it was still good to see Protoss do well.
But tvt is also mmm vs mmm because a mech terran will lose against mmm. Zerg usually roach ravager at the start. Can also be muta v muta What are you talking about? All protoss units were used
Thanks GSL and Tastosis helping us going through 2020.
And Life!
dan + nickorea is best korea ✌️
If only they would stop using the word "like" in every sentence. What is up with that stupid word, which has no semantic value.
it is a parastic word. there is many in each languages. like :0 as non EN speaker, i dont mind and it is easier for me ^^

Well said.
lol, he just got lucky that day
I’ve been rooting for trap for some time now, amazing victory and finally got to lift that trophy.
What a beautiful comment.
What a final, and finally a protoss winner. Very happy for trap showing his talent, hope he gets a new team soon.
Thanks for all the hard work Tastosis and those working at the GSL studio! See you next year!

Protoss fanboy wont complain about balance for a while.
Protoss is not underpowered, there are just way way more much better Terrans and Zergs.
Please don't spoil the semi-finals next time by uploading the named finals right after thanks.
What u mean
PvP is so strange. Amazing performances for P this tournament. GG
Misto.

The early game micro from Trap was from another world. Each engagement Stats lost at least one unit more, really top notch micro!! Amasing games, GG!

Trap was the first SC "pro" that I really started rooting for - happy to see him claw his way through this, tough games.
Thanks GSL and Afreeca TV. Let’s up that prize pool for next year?

semifinals were spoiled.... sigh... anyways, thanks for the free content, Starcraft 4 lyf
Yes
Use sc2links website, they hide the matchups until you click to reveal
Hopefully there's a 2021 tournament but at this rate with starcraft and many other blizzard games collapsing it's looking doubtful.
I remember when ogsmc won gsl back in the days the price money was $80,000 -_-

what an incredible match, edge of my seat thelast game, well deserved by trap

Holy congrats Trap u deserve it

Why does trap always send his workers to the natural like 20s early?
Red number bad, yes, but long distance mining worse

Almost choked that so hard
Guess it really was getting awkward and we needed to talk about something..
that 2nd forge and armor upgrade played a big role in final engagement. All trap's remaining units were either orange or red.
Great game, but Trap never yelled at his monitor lol.
TRAP FINALLY DID IT
CHAMPION TRAP

Roflmao pvp finals... imagine my shock
I hope whatever new RTS takes over after the beancounter robots at activision cut SC2 off doesn't include a protoss equivalent. God this is so dull
PvP is the most boring mirror matchup IMO. Followed by ZvZ then TvT
haha... once again Protoss shows its the easiest race to play

JESUS CHRIST RETURNS, REPENT OF SIN AND CHANGE YOUR WAY OF LIVING

blablabla so annoying. turn sound off, i cant take this anymore. its a game, not a radio station.
