He tossed and toiled hard to be where he is today did Anil Kapoor always standing on the sidelines waiting for a break. Dilip Kumar as always delivered a fantastic performance. Dilip Kumar also rejected the roles later performed by Sanjeev Kumar in "Sholay" and "Trishul". He once spoke of the massive regret he had of turning down the role of Thakur Baldev Singh in "Sholay" after the film attained all time classic status.
