Yeah they were at the top of their game for 2023. It will be interesting to see how the 2024 bomberges will be since they are changing the finishing barrel this year
I was able to get two Shenk’s this year and was hoping to snag a Bomberger’s. Never had either of them previously. As usual, to each their own. Everyone’s preference is different, but I think the 2023 Shenk’s is fantastic. It is a dessert bomb. A ton of butterscotch flavor on the nose and up front with toasted oak and marshmallow on the mid palate and finish. Reminds me of a toasted s’more. It’s one of my favorites.
Yeah a lot of people loved the shenks this year I have just always preferred the bombergers and this years was fantastic and also the last one with the solera style chinquapin oak as they are doing a culte barrel finish for 2024
Walked into my local and saw a bottle of 23 Bombergers on the shelf. No price. I took it the register and asked them to scan it. $69.99

@@bourbonbill that happened a few months ago when I scored a Blanton's Gold for $75. Store thought it was their regular monthly allocated bottle.
It didn't ring up at first. She had to search the system for a match. And it was the same as the advertised price on their shelf. I was sweating in more ways than one waiting for that transaction to go through 😂
The 2022 was the first Bomb I tried and it was outstanding. Love to hear that they tend to keep getting better.
A very nice friend has some connections at a store in my control state and was able to get two and let me have the other one. $110 here. I haven’t cracked it yet but I look forward to it! Thanks for this review

Haha thanks luckily my buddy got them and let me sample them these were like hens teeth last year in PA and considering PA hasn’t even released JD10 or 12 yet this might come next calendar year here
virginia abc had a drop today and everyone lost their minds over the michter's 10 and left the bombergers sitting there. i grabbed the bombergers!
Haha smart man. The michters 10 is really good but it’s certainly not double as good for double the price. The bombergers this year is killer and the last year they are doing the Solera chinqapin oak as next year they are doing a new culte barrel finish
I grabbed both of the 2023 releases. Haven’t had the opportunity yet to sit down with friends and crack them yet. Looking forward to it.
If you liked last years these are even better with the Bombergers being better to my palate

Bombergers is one of the best Bourbons on Earth.
I had the 2021 version and it has gotten better every year since.
Absolutely every year is a little bit more chinqapin oak influence
I was able to get the Shenk's for a $100 and Bomberger for $120 on the one day it was at Total Wine. The Shenk's is better than last year's. Bomberger is just as good as last year. I haven't been able to get an M10 for a while.
Good snag. Yeah I agree I’ve come close to getting them before actually seen them I haven’t seen any of them 10yr Michters for years they are more scarce for sure

Yeah they are hard to come by I can say I’ve seen them once which is more than I can say for other micthers offerings haha
I’m wondering how much variation there is between the different batches. Hopefully you can see.
I’m not sure to be honest last year it seemed everyone loved the Bombergers so I assume they were all fairly good but I haven’t had more than one batch myself at a time

You definitely oversell the Bomberger’s and undersell the Shenk’s. The 2023 M10B is on a different level!
I agree the Michters 10B 2023 is delicious I like more oak usually but I was just digging the additional fruit in the Bombergers that night. I’ve never been a fan of shenks but this year seems to be better than last year to me

Sorry, you're wrong. The Shenks is more unique. With the Bombergers, there are better options for the price. :P
Haha I’ve been to known to be wrong just ask my wife. Something about the shenks just doesn’t wow me I’ve always preferred the bomb over it maybe it’s the proof but I know people like yourself that are the opposite
The way you articulate words makes me think you have the same condition as Matt from adhd whiskey. Also rare breed > shenks? Impossible. Your palate is not a god given gift lol
