Attempted Robbery and Stabbing at Vana Watch and Jewelry in South Pasadena on 12-14-18

- The South Pasadena Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying two African-American male adults in this video. One of the suspects can be seen attempting to stab the business owner of Vana Watch and Jewelry in South Pasadena, CA, on 12-14-18 at about 10:54 am during the commission of an attempted robbery. Both suspects fled the location in what is described as a green Chevy Malibu after another store employee pointed a gun at them. The only reason they didn't arrest me on the spot is because, some lady ran up to the cops as they were turning me around. Told the guy, think about it ass hole, why would he give a wallet back he stole. While they never really hesitated to just arrest me until later footage or something I "guess". Omar Teriq Bradley, a 21 year-old resident of the City of Compton, was arrested driving the vehicle used in the crime by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Compton Station deputies on Tuesday, December 18th.
Bradley will be arraigned today in Alhambra Superior Court on charges of attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. "

He left behind the counter because he knew what was up. He wanted to peep the outside to see if there were more or a getaway driver. He flexed in front of store for awhile, waiting for things to jump off. Two behind counter could fail miserably as well.
Even with no sound you could tell what was going on. The entire time, the workers were savvy and knew what was coming. As soon as the 2 robbers entered the black t shirt guy went to where he kept his gun and at :40 he reached for it to make sure it was there. The black and white shirt guy was always going behind the 2 robbers - so he could cut them off in case they tried a smash and grab, running out the front. The black t shirt guy always stood close to the corner shelves where the gun was hidden. At a few points like at 2:50 he was reaching for the gun with his right hand. At 4:20 black t shirt was constantly going for the gun, and when the guy pulled the knife he was already holding the pistol in 1 hand and his cell phone in the other. Very unfortunate he did not shoot them.

He walked out from behind the counter so they couldn't just grab something and run. Notice he hovers around the door for a cupple mins then walks back up and starts talking to them..... he knew his co-worker had the gun if shit got dangerous. All and all, he did a great job.

I think it was a great idea that the older gentleman went right up to the entrance/exit of the store and looked outside through the glass windows. Probably just to be sure *that these thugs had no accomplices waiting* at the exterior of the store, to strike as well. Watch him, keenly?👀

I was in retail for years and you just get a sense for the bad one's. But no amount of money is worth chasing someone down and risking getting killed. When the owner came out from behind the counter he lost that protection of space. Thank God no one was killed.

Every jewellery store should have a firearm on the ready and the ability to lock the doors at the push of a button, so that their only way out is blocked. This knowledge would even let potential robbers think twice about even attempting to rob the store! Also, nothing concealing a proper view of the face of each individual entering the store, should be allowed!

There needs to be a button to call the police located behind the counter, just like the Banks have behind their counters. As time goes by, these kind of problems become more and more prevelant and need extra security measures put in. One that comes to mind is an off-site jewelry store/ pawn shop camera house with an attendant 24/7. A room full of tv screens of those kind of places of businesses as an added protection against thieves with guns and crowbars. It would stop a lot of Smash and Grab during off hours.too.
