The shoes thing tho. Could never understand how American people can just walk around their house in dirty street shoes.

Ashley Moore You'd have to clean your floor several times a day and even then it wouldn't be clean because you'd just immediately walk on it with your dirty shoes.

lol @ the plastic bag thing. I'm asian and I married a caucasian man. When we first went on a grocery trip, he tried to put the plastic bags in the trash after. I was like no no, we can use them later. We now have a billion plastic bags stocked up. His family also doesn't use plastic bags for anything other than the kitchen trash. I use the grocery plastic bags on the little trash cans around the house. So much cleaner that way.

Plastic bags also make an excellent trashbag for cars... just hook the handles over the gearshift. I imagine it'd drive anyone who drives a manual transmission crazy, but if you've got an automatic it's great.

I'm European and this is kinda how it's like in my house:
Plastic bags? Don't throw them away, store them in the pantry.
Dishes? Sometimes, use the dishwasher, but usually hand wash them.
Hot? Turn on the fan, open the window, or put on different clothes.
Shoes? Take them off, You where just outside!
Food? Here, take this and this back to your house, your mom might like these.
Aspirin? We don't have any in our household...

Who's white people homes have you been in? I mean, Im from the south, so shits a lot different down here than maybe California.
Bags? We got that one bag with all the other plastic bags stuffed in it.
Drinks? A southern home's like "ok we got iced tea, coke, milk, orange juice, root beer, and water get what you want."
Snacks. "Ok we got this box of chips from Sam's Club and we got pimento cheese you want a pimento cheese sandwich? A'ight, breads on the counter, cheese in the left side of the fridge, make what you want."
Leaving? Say good bye like five times then spend half an hour talking on the porch until someone gets tired of standing or tired of the mosquitos and leaves.
AC? You.... you turned it off? Why?
Pain. "Ok we got some advil, some aleeve, some midol, motrin, and mom's got a hot water bottle in the kitchen I think?"

Me western, wife Taiwanese. This video is so true and funny. In our mixed family we have all the good treats of both sides. Works very well.
One thing though. The leaving shoes on in house is true only of certain parts of the west.
I'm from Europe living in Australia. To me walk in with the shoes on is a despicable crime and I never seen that until moved to Australia. Aussies are doing that. Even worse they walk barefoot outside on streets, shops etc and go back home with their filthy feet!!! Yuckkkk!!!!!!!!
So there is a difference between west and west.

+Abi „TheShout“ Marie As I am living in Japan right now I can just tell you my experience: you will get thousand of those and you didn't even need to pay for them. In Germany for example you have to pay nearly for all plastic bags, especially since the summer because the politicans want to reduce the use of them (you know, crude oil and so on). :) Maybe that helps you.

Growing up we used fans, saved plastic bags (something I'm still doing...unfortunately), took off our shoes in the front hallway, had a few strange snacks (bread salad, angonettis, torrones and struffoli) and nobody left our home without a care package! However, we drank cold drinks on hot days and hot drinks on cold days.

    In my house,
We put our clean but wet plates and bowls on the drying rack
The extra plates and bowls in the dishwasher
And pots and pans in the oven

24k pure Asian here, I agree with most of the stuff, but that air-conditioning and hot tea thing r just bs, never in my life I have drank hot tea after a work out and i have never seen Asian so poor to that point where u try to save a few cents by using the fan instead. in fact, Asians are very generous when treating guests.

Yupp...maybe if someone can't afford AC then they will use fan but that hot tea stuff never happens... usually we offer tea to everyone....but in summer we always offer them some home made cool drink like some fruit juice, jaljeera or lemon sugar water solution first....... usually in India we don't use those packets as snacks... usually our snacks too are some cooked stuff not readymade...as readymade we use mainly cookies
