  • This is a simple process but when I was first looking into surplus generators, I couldn't find much on exactly how it worked. Figured I would make a video showing it. This process is very similar on almost all military generators.
    Since making this video, I started selling a kit to adapt & make your own line for doing this! Check it out here;

    I see these on Ebay all the time for some really good prices. Damn tough generator and great for backup power.

      they sell on govplanet.com. 803A(10KW) Brand new about $5-6k (less than 50 hrs). I picked up one with about 100 hrs for $3k with the trailer. Still had sticker on it indicating prices was over $25K. Outstanding value for a tough machine. I have no idea why the gov't is selling so many of these.

      @@minionman6177 They've moved away from the MEP platform and onto the AMMPS platform for generators.

    Is the auxiliary fuel system (external tank) connected to the main tank? Does it only refill the main tank or is it a completely separate system with a separate (auxiliary) pump?

      At 4:54 , that is what I was talking about, it refilling the tank. Also at 3:55 I talk about the two different pumps.

      @@CallMeColtLLC I see. Thank you. Looking at the diagram (FUEL SYSTEM DIAGRAM), it turns out that MEP cannot operate only on an external tank. I can only refill the main tank from the external one, manually turning on the additional pump every 7-10 hours. Do I understand correctly?

    Looking for a unit like this for off grid power to add to a 48 volt Schneider 6848 inverter system

      I have one for sale, not sure of your location. These are a great option for an off grid application that has a battery bank. With a simple add-on, they can be remotely controlled & set to be turned on automatically if called for by a charger. ebay.us/jFvvLc

      Not sure what you are asking? If it has a high temperature, that means it is overheating.
