Located just a few kilometers away from Shangrila resorts, SOQ Valley is a popular tourist destination in Skardu Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan. It can be reached by car in approximately 30 minutes from Shangrila. The stunning SOQ river, formed by the convergence of several rivers originating from Deosai National Park, flows into the valley. To reach the SOQ Valley camping site, visitors can opt for a four-wheel drive, bike, or trekking after taking a left turn from Kachura village and following the SOQ river. The journey itself is breathtaking, with several waterfalls and scenic spots to stop and admire along the way.
SOQ Valley and Shangrila Lake can be seen on either side of a mountain on Google Maps. Safari Resorts is a noteworthy location in the SOQ Valley, with its organic cherry garden being a highlight. Camping is also allowed anywhere in the valley, providing visitors with several options for accommodation.

There is a limited number of hotels available in Soq Valley for accommodation. Alternatively, you can choose to stay at hotels located along the route to Soq Valley, close to Shangri-La Resorts. Another option is to experience camping in Soq Valley. I recommend visiting Safari Resorts (Cherry Garden) in Soq Valley, where you can enjoy the unique experience of picking fresh cherries directly from the trees. The cost for this activity is 350 rupees per person.
Just a week ago, I had the opportunity to visit Soq Valley once again. During my trip, I opted to stay at the Skardu Viewpoint hotel, which is renowned for being one of the finest and most affordable hotels in Skardu. The hotel enjoys a favorable location, and its ambiance is truly remarkable. Accommodation options at the hotel include cozy huts consisting of two rooms and a lounge area, as well as standard hotel rooms. Depending on your preference, you can choose any of these options at a daily rate ranging from 4000 to 5000 rupees.

You can go on BRV up till Skardu very easily. But for SOQ valley 4 x 4 Jeep is preferred. Its not very far from Skardu just 30 minutes drive from main Skardu city and 20 minute drive fom Shangri-La Lake
