Guess we just have to hope it’s not too long before the dying sun explodes in to a red hot giant and evaporates the oceans and finally ends all life. *That would END 100% of suffering for every sentient living being permanently.*

The Whale was fighting them off for 3 hours, didn't suffer when it was stunned to death, just how much they would suffer if there back was harpooned.

    Not rare at all, only rare that we get to see it. The orcas drown the whale and bite at it, eventually disabling its ability to swim. It’s a genius teamwork maneuver.

    • @rohithvishwajith4988
      @rohithvishwajith4988 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      This is absolutely rare. It’s rare because (a) any large whale species in the same location as these types of orcas is rare (b) finding a whale that is sick or dying is rare

    • @rominn2184
      @rominn2184 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      ^ And I just don't think we are qualified to say that. Do we live in the oceans and rely on its fish and other mammals for our primary and sole (no pun intended) means of food? I think not. So, I am saying I think this happens a lot more than we might think, but we are just not always around to see it. So it is rare to us. Not necessarily to the killer whales.

    I've read Orcas will pull whales down by their tales while other Orcas in the pod attempt to smother the whales blow whole when trying to breach for air. The large mammal eventually drowns from exhaustion. But the immense stamina to withstand that type of onslaught from 75+ predators for 3 hours is insane. I don't believe any land mammal could do that. Despite losing the battle, that whale is GOAT no doubt.

      @@salmanbinahmed8253 There is an offshore Killer whale population in the northeast Pacific. They travel far from shore and feed primarily on schooling fish. However, because they have large, scarred and nicked dorsal fins resembling those of mammal-hunting transients, it may be that they also eat mammals and sharks. They typically congregate in groups of 20-75, with occasional sightings of larger groups of up to 200. Little is known about their habits, but they are genetically distinct from residents and transient types. Offshores types appear to be smaller than the others, and females are characterized by dorsal fin tips that are continuously rounded.
