That's the best sounding scam in an LS7 I have heard. Definitely hear it, but its got a lower intensity cadence, as if its just yawning and stretching before an automotive fist fight occurs.
thanks! to be honest.. in detroit, i don't miss the honda too much. there wasn't really anywhere i could enjoy the car, and driving it on the famously rough roads in gridded roadways felt a bit like a chore. issues... yes, a month into ownership, the LS7 dropped a valve and grenaded the motor. bought another used long block and swapped it in. just got it running again recently! some other typical GM issues like the fuel gauge not working and clutch hydraulic issues. just got off the dyno at 513whp/460wtq. it rips pretty good. fingers crossed for no more issues
Oh nice haven’t heard of the fuel gauge/hydraulic clutch issues but those valves dropping seem common enough to steer me away. Are there preventative things to avoid blowing your motor? Do the LS2 have the same issues?
@@brianjang4126 you can have a machine shop replace the valve guides and it'll run you about $1200. i also had them port the int/exh ports while it was there for a bit more. i will say though, there is something really visceral about the 7.0 ripping up to 7,000 RPM. definitely feels unique compared to the other LS engines.
Awesome thank you for the responses. The LS7 or the c6 Z is always something I’ve looked at but just couldn’t pull the trigger especially here in Chicago but I might have to take one out on a drive. Could argue the c6 z06 is the best looking vette out there.
Real Z06 sound💪
God that’s a far better sound than the virtual whisper of an electric car!

2.2 is great for valvetrain longevity as well
are those the npp open valves or closed? sounds great
they are NPP mufflers, yes with the valves open
That chop sounds great. Any issues with the z06 in general? Miss the ap1?

Are you happy with the cam or do you wish you went bigger? I cant decide between tsp 2 or 3
im happy with it. already a handful as is. it shudders a bit below 1400rpm so i assume with a bigger can it'd be worse.
From metro detroit? 👀 I'm picking one up in a couple weeks, fingers crossed. Sounds good! How many miles on the new block?
i put 9000 on the new engine this year. so far so good
Were you on stock heads and guides when you dropped the valve?
yes. 80k miles ish
