All of the hose and fittings for a Stealthbox can be ordered with the overflow: www.customaquariums.com/aquarium-accessories/h2overflow-siphon-stopper-fittings.html
can you explain the green hoses on the tank in this video where all the ports are used? are those in line pumps to allow you to have multiple OUTPUTS into the tank from the stealth box or is it the reverse where the inline pumps function to have INTAKES from multiple tank locations into the stealth box?
The purpose of all the small ports in the bottom of the Stealthbox is to provide opportunity to drive water to specific locations in the filter system... if you want to. For example, if you want to drive water directly to an external skimmer, large reactor, or refugium bypassing any mechanical filters (socks) that main drain pipes are flowing to. What is really comes down to is that the bottom of the box would have a lot of wasted space if it only had a few 1 1/2" ports. The 3/4" are options... not many people use them. I have a very deep freshwater with a big faux stump background on it that has a lot of dead water space behind it. I used one of those 3/4" ports and an a mini in-line pump to push some water down into that space to keep it from getting stagnant.
Two advantages... First, no overflow system is completely silent, but an external overflow box like the Stealthbox is quieter than an internal overflow only... especially in high-volume flow rate systems. Second, a Stealthbox is also a manifold that will let you direct water to different parts of a filter system.
If the Stealthbox will not be easily accessible behind the tank, the control valves can be installed lower on the drain hose under the tank in the cabinet. 4" of space is needed to accommodate the overflow box itself. If you can reach the position of the valves, 5" total would be needed if the valve also located behind the tank.
The large slip fittings in the Stealthbox are 1 1/2" and the fit is very tight. We use standard standard schedule 40 pvc (normally white). If you are trying the grey schedule 80, or a non=standard schedule 40, the wall of the pipe may be too thick. Check the edges of the cut to see if there are any burrs that are stopping the pipe from slipping into the fitting. Even if you cannot see a burr you can use some sand paper around the edge to make is smoother so that it will fit more easily.
@@CustomAquariums I am using regular schedule 40, and that’s absolutely wrong at least for the box you sent me I spent 2 hours trying to get it in the hole is the same size as the outer diameter of the pvc pipe so it DOES NOT GO IN AT ALL
I am sorry that you are having difficulty fitting the pipe into your Stealth Box. Have you contacted our customer service team about this problem? Is the pvc that you are using sent with the Stealth Box? There are many manufacturers of pvc, and it may be possible that the specific pipe you are using is different than what we are using.
I just talked to customer service... please give them a call: 844 244 8265 They very much want to help you, but without your name I cannot have them contact you directly.
Like that system ! ! ! What kind of flexible drain hose is that & what kind of fittings are that that are attach it . Where does one buy them ?

What’s the advantage to running this versus just having the H2 Overflow go directly to your sump?

What is the recommended distance from the tank to the wall for the box and work the valves?

@@CustomAquariums thank you. I am trying to maximize the space I have.
What size pipe do I need to do herbie style, I tried my 1-1/2 inch pvc and it did not fit, now it is super loud because I could not do that right away
