It’s a temp controlled soldering tip station, a hot air rework station, a magnifying glass, solder wick, leaded solder, amtech flux, and of course, we can’t forget the appropriate replacement USB connector. Finding the exact one that goes on the board one is trying to fix is never easy….

Question, you changed from USB micro A to USB C connector right?
But if the motherboard is not capable of handling maximum transfer speed of USB C, it will work at the max speed of USB micro A, correct?

The usb c Port in this case is just a physical Standard.
If you Look at the Specification of usb c you can See that it is compatible with usb 2 which is used by Micro usb.
So you get the physical usb c Port but none of the Features usb c Provides when it is attached to a usb 3 /gen 2 Controller which is actually responsible for All the goodness you know and love from usb c with usb 3 and upwards.

What hot fan temperature is needed to desolder? I have an inexpensive soldering station but I haven't used hot fan to desolder ports like usb yet
You have to learn by trying. The brand of the heating device and even the solder used changes the temperatures seriously.
Yeah nice. But the problem is that no one making these videos actually give any details so people will know properly how. Like what was the temp used and what is that liquid that the board is full of to clean the soldering paste? And many other details that would actually make people understand

I have a lithium jump pack that has an old micro USB charging cord, is that possible to upgrade to USB C?
It is there a place I can send it in to have it done? It charges incredibly slow & thought the USB C might give it a little boost.
No not possible, if the pcb was made for micro usb then changing the port easily like this won't be possible, and it won't change the charging speeds even if it was possible

You make a mistake!!! you've not covered the mic hole to prevent from heat, ctc, and paste.. i prety sure the mic will not work .

"Oil" is called flux and that flat wire is called solder wig
Flux (you can get it as grease or as a fluid) helps the solder "glide" into the right place and the solder wig is just many woven/interlaced copper cables that suck up old solder to make the contacts fresh

@@MrFrambooise the plug was originally soldered with a machine and got now changed by hand, finish quality doesn't matter anymore.
