Looking down that open area between the trees reminds me of the time I had to fix a Chinook helicopter that went down in an area just like that in Colorado. That was a very cold day…lol!
Not much of a hatchet guy, but when i do use a hatchet i want 16" and a wood handle. Second to that i would get a 16" Estwing hatchet or riggers axe (if i wanted the multifunction).
You can take the hammer head off and put the hatchet in a fixed angle sharpening system.

The Prepared Wanderer showed one with an orange handle

I wish I could buy stuff from Obuy in Australia. There is so much stuff there that I'd be interested in getting.
As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought I wish I could buy this in Australia
It's the same in England, we don't get the obuy stuff :(
Enjoyed that on the scene chopping! What part of MT?
A little south of Swan Lake.
@@lastbesttool I drove on the west side of Flathead Lake on 93 up to Kalispell and on to GNP last year. Beautiful area.
Would you take this camping better than the bigger one?
I’d go bigger if i anticipate processing firewood. I’d carry this smaller one when I don’t have a heavy need. It is more like a big knife.
