I agree with you regarding not being overloaded. The core of learning and studying is assimilation.
Assimilation requires SLOW THINKING. You have to take the time and ponder upon what you are studying / reading.
Universities nowadays overload you with work, and this destroys any proper learning.
It turns the so-called studying into a total waste of time.
A lot passes through your mind and very little, if anything, remains.

I think it’s so unfair how different colleges do things differently. In my first and second terms I had daily Latin classes, weekly essays, weekly tutorials, and even more extra Latin classes, it’s was so difficult. I’m IIA too xx

oml thank you so so much for this video I'm starting classics iia in like 2 weeks and i was so afraid that i was not going to get enough help with learning latin! you've reallyyyyy reassured me because honestly i was so scared i haven't learnt any languages since like gcse! rip me why did i apply for a degree i had non of the right subjects for lolllllllll

Incoming grad fresher at New! Does the JCR / MCR sell old discounted swag from the previous year? I didn't bring much clothing due to limited baggage.
Do you have any information or maybe videos about the philosophy, psychology and linguistic program ? I'm in my last year of high school and just passionate about philosophy and psychology and can't really find any information on people experiences with this course

I’ve got an offer for Classics II and English at Oxford and this video was so helpful! I didn’t realise until you explained it that I also have a “I’ll be at the bottom but I’ll be at Oxford” mentality. I’m from a state school, I don’t know the first thing about Greek or Latin, and I’m undecided whether I want to accept the offer. I just don’t know whether I’ll be able to keep up with it all and be good enough

@@boop9689beep yes! :) it’s a lot of work and can be really overwhelming at times but I do love it here and I’m glad I decided to come!

why mandarin and not latin in your gap year? May have relieved some pressure ?
Mandarin was a personal choice :) also my gap year was solely for travel and personal growth, not prep for uni!

All these Oxbridge graduates' videos on TH-cam are really annoying. She's talking nonsense, unstructured, for more than half an hour. Randomly jumping here are there.
So annoying.
it's just a casual conversational video i don't think she meant to make it super structured and organised lol. she's just treating us like we're her friends, that's how most youtubers roll.
