I think they do but jerry realised he would be making a competitor for Essentials if he did Adi basketball, so he moved the goal posts to fit with HIS brand strategy, not adidas'.

I agree bro, it’s got a hint of adidas to it but it’s basically another FOG collection. I’m just a little underwhelmed by it all for what it’s worth. Like the Y-3 adidas stuff is pricey but has some clean pieces
Yoooooo! Today I decided to switch it up and cover the latest Adidas Fear of God Athletics collaboration! This is supposed to be the next step for Adidas, with life after Kanye and the Yeezy empire. Let me know if you copped any pieces and if you think Adidas made the right choice!
The shoes are not badly priced, the clothes on the other hand are massively marked up. Based on the fabric, production country and design elements these shouldn't be even close to the prices they are.
I like the collection but a basic sweatshirt produced in an Adidas factory in china using basic fleece shouldn't be $300.
Completely fair! I’m just not seeing where the high retail is coming from to justify these pieces for now myself. I know the adidas Y-3 collab used higher quality so that was understood. Maybe it will grow on me once discounted
@@wedontcookfood Yeah, i would argue the design of Y3 is generally more complicated and therefore more expensive to produce. But its still overpriced and hits the sale rail hard.
If it ends up being a tent pole marketing collab, that doesn't really make money, like Y3, that's fine, but i think we all expected something for the common man,or at least something to ball in? Or maybe that was just me?
Something about fashion is that when people spend $200-400 on a piece of clothing they want people to know they did

Totally fair points! I can’t speak to the quality of the more expensive FOG pieces but I’ve picked up the essentials collection throughout the years and it has been okay/nothing crazy. I have been seeing mixed reviews on these pieces with in hand so I hope it justifies it

Kanye brought inspiration, he always tried to keep everything a reasonable price. Always setting new shoe trends, new clothing brands. Heck I’d say Kanye brought back that blue gap color or at least some inspiration of that color because now Kylie’s new brand has some very inspired Kanye gap looks and everything. Jerry has inspiration, but Kanye has something that no one does. Whether we like it or not we were always looking and intrigued by what Kanye does in every department.
Couldn’t agree more bro, everything Kanye does is layered and ends up being timeless for better or for worse. I can see the vision and I can appreciate what Jerry and FOG have been doing for years now but it’s just missing that extra level that Kanye and his collabs offer

For me bro, I am a bit underwhelmed after the 3 year wait. I’ve been supporting Jerry since I copped the FOG x Vans and was excited for this because adidas was one of my favorite brands and they’ve fallen back. Maybe it will grow on me more but for now I just feel like he could have done more

@@heliosf2080 To be honest bro, even comparing qntms at $250 vs the $200 lifestyle shoe that dropped as part of this FOG Athletics collection, the $200 shoe is not it for me. It's no hate to Jerry and I've been rocking w him since the Vans x FOG days but I just feel very underwhelmed. Look up the FOG '86 Low for $200 (this collection), and compared to any regular Yeezy Boost it falls flat - for me tho!

I think everyone was tired of speculative prosucts and re seller prices ... is a good thing to allow the collection to rest and mature. Raf Simons 2001 Riot Riot Riot was not a hit back on the day but with time became one of the most relevant collections in recent history.

It’s just a downward trend for now but just like stocks it will be up and all investors will be happy when it does. I do understand your point though and you’re not wrong.

It's interesting everyone loved the Nike God of Fear line which was exceedingly more expensive than the adidas line. If I'm not correct didn't the Nike Fear of God 1 retail at $395. I guess it's selective outrage from the same group that will go out and grab a very inexpensive and cheaply made Travis Scott Jordan for resale. To me for the quality that you are getting in the shoe justifies the price for the shoe. I laugh at the hypocrisy of all these people's comments trying to condemn the price. LOL
Footwear aside, how do you feel about the rest of the collection? For me, as someone who has been in tune and supporting Jerry since the FOG Vans collab days I can't help but feel underwhelmed as a whole. Only because it has been 3 years in the making, and take away the 3 stripes it just feels very one sided to the FOG aesthetic. It's no hate on Jerry either, and maybe I expected more but I just feel underwhelmed I guess. It is very much so a FOG collection however

This completely not true. Just after start selling. Adidas doubled the order. We can’t even produce that fast. For next season adidas triple number of styles.
I remember ppl talking about fog Nike and ye’s drop when it first came out saying str8 to outlets n trash, slides sat for god knows how long….now look. The more ppl don’t want em the more I do. I like rocking kicks that many ppl aren’t wearing. All ppl do is follow hype smfh. I love the kicks copped basketball, runner and talc’s 86 lo. Happy I can get kicks without any issue

People are SLEEPING on this drop. I copped the sesame basketball kicks, and am blown all the way away. Insanely good. Its not the same as the Nike ones, theyre fkn great. Also, designer hoodies are commonly $200 so i don't see why thats so crazy on super high quality sweats. Thats prly why the hoodie sold out tho. I did get some essentials jet black sweats to go with tho for half the price.
got the black T Shirt and the CCC basketballs... those were the only ones I really liked discarding the prices... I love the designs and though I think the clothing is overpriced for any sportswear... I think they are well styled and worth my money... I get why people wouldn't want this when essentials exists. they look the same yet one is 45 and the other is 160. main sleepers are the sneakers, both LA and BB imo. only gripe is the sizing is totally wrong which I am getting tired of. Yeezy was the same where you need to size up to get a good fit.

Are you really telling me with a straight face that you know the corporate world so well that you are sure they dont like when items are sitting? Please, if they want it to be sold out, they would have limit the supply by half. If they produced twice or three times more and it is sitting a week after release, they would have still making 2 to 2.5 times more money as oppose to the limiting supply strategy.
The only reason these company is limiting supply is to build hype and dont care about profit. But in this economy, im sorry but they care about profit way more than hype.
Having worked in corporate for a fast fashion company, yes I can say they feel at least underwhelmed. Of course every brand wants a same day sell out but regardless the collection is still getting talked about. I say all this with the point of feeling underwhelmed after waiting 3 years, and being a fan of Jerry and FOG since the Vans collab days. I hope the collection grows on me honestly!

No, the point I made after his claim that the footwear should be $1000 for the amount of effort that went into it, and then compared it to the Nike FOG Raid is that it was low effort.
