- The Hovercraft History Hunters are back with a bang, as they take out their new Hovercraft out for the first time hunting for Historical items on the Lower Thames River. Joined by the British Hovercraft Company, the crews have a look and have a laugh at what out ancestors left behind.

The sole is a male adult half sole -from the rounded heel to the straight edge of the forward part of the arch. This was a common repair to a worn heel or in some new shoes, a second layer of leather added to the heel/arch of the sole to add rigidity to the shoe.
Cool. Didn’t think of that
The soles of a lot of medieval turnshoes from the 14th century were seamed at the "waist" or the narrowest part of the sole. There are many finds with two-part soles in the archaeological record, even without repairs or added leather.
The frame is cool. Maybe make another with a picture of the derelict boats lined up at Hoo Fort. They were beautiful in a sad way.
I couldn't help but feel the same...
Imagining the storms, the different ports of call, the boys and men that had sea water in their veins...
When I see those abandoned boats with the wonderful colour patina I think, "That was someone's pride and joy"
I *love* how the old pottery seems to break into *perfect* little vignettes...

That was indeed a fun day since no ordinance was hurt in the making of this Vlog.
I was a Custom picture framer/ restorer etc for almost forty years and I love your take on a shadow box, that wood is awesome.
The light blue board really enhanced the finds, but I would have created a sandy ,pebbly board and sealed it with Acrylic Gel medium as
background for the objects, reminiscent of their resting place for so many years, just a thought.:)
That was so funny when you fast forwarded the film pure laural and hardy. Fascinating watching this wish i was 40 years younger id be out there.

Hey Sci...haven't read all the comments to see if somebody else had said the same. However. Husband sez that top or part of the cannon looks like the fuze cap. It sets into the cannon holding the fuze to be lit. 🙊🙉🙈

You guys are so lucky to be able to muck around on these old forts, boats etc. Here in Australia, the 'nanny state' that we live under would have erected monumental barbed wire fences around it all. Nice job on the up-cycling and it's always a pleasure to see the chickens. Cheers Si.

I get the biggest bang out of watching you guys play on the wrecks and forts. I see young lads out and having fun on a day off from school, work, etc. Nice finds on the roman pottery. And glad you didn't handle that bomb. Saltwater and explosives don't mix.

Brilliant lark ! What a day out. He's a geezer playing with that mortar shell, not to mention hovercraft fun . It brought back memories of growing up in Penarth, skimming the mud flats between Penarth and Cardiff, then walking home stinking dirty.In the 1970s they tried a hovercraft ferry idea but it didn't last sadly ..Oh how I wish someone would come up with a hoverchair as replacement for wheelchairs, so I could get out properly again.
