Got this on promo vinyl- threw it down on 12s and a UREI mixer at the club where I was spinning 😵💫 n Baltimore city- this remix always rocked the dance floor!
Me and a friend of mine back in the 80's had a Saturday night high energy dance show on WUVT college radio at Virginia tech. We used to both wear this mix out so much. It was one of the highly requested songs on the show.
A friend was the purchasing manager for my local Brash's store in Geelong when this was released. She ordered 1 copy just for me, because Geelong was pretty backward for remixes at that time. I couldn't wait to get home and throw it onto my parent's quadraphonic hi fi, turn it up and lose it totally on the parquetry dining room floor in my socks. I raced out to the cab rank and jumped in one and said 'Drysdale', 20km's (13 Miles) from the city, a rural satellite hamlet of 1200 people. Thirteen dollars and 15 minutes later I'd lept out of the cab and gone inside, only to realise I'd left the 12" on the rear seat - I'd been shopping and had put it all on the back seat. I rang the cab company immediately "Hi, I've not 2 minutes ago been dropped off at...(my address)... by Car #...., I've left a 12" single on the back seat and he couldn't have reached the Geelong-Portarlington Rd yet..." and was answered with "One moment, I'll get him on the radio and ask him to turn around and drop it off to you, unfortunately he'll have to engage his meter..." to which I replied "Absolutely, that single was an import just for me and rather rare, so I'd be more than prepared to pay for him to come back." The operator came back on the line "He says he's searched the car and there's nothing in it that matches your description." Needless to say I was fuming angry within a nanosecond. Had to wait 6 weeks for a new copy, but it was worth it.
