Bicester 150k 😂 I looked at the house you showed it was a shared ownership property with a rent of £800 a month on top of the mortgage. 150k will get you nothing in Oxfordshire.

If I bought a residential home, what process do I follow to purchase another property? Also, would I need to pay capital gain tax on the residential property if I choose to sell it later?
To purchase a buy to let property you would need at least a 25% deposit.
Can’t give exact tax advice but checkout the government website www.gov.uk/tax-sell-home
Buy a house in your name only, get your partner to buy another house separately, don't get legally married. No CGT on either home (you can get a consent to let application once a residential mortgage on a 10% depo is approved).

@boltmortgages if you looked at the Highlands and Islands you'd get a very different type of property for 150k or even NI and Wales . You'd be able to represent a varied cross section of what "150k can buy in different parts of the UK"
