The original _PotO_ starts in D minor and ends in A minor. His cover starts in C minor (2 semitones down) and ends (after an odd key change for the last verse) in F minor (4 semitones down); so that one’s not a “1 octave challenge”.

The most impressive thing with Tommy is his range. He has a stunning voice all across the spectrum. But you have yet to experience his talent as a musician. I suggest you to check out his cover of Helloween’s Eagle fly free or Over the hills and far away by Gary Moore.
Team Tommy checking in from the California desert to thank you for checking out more of Tommy's work! Tommy is the guitarist for Swedish Metal band Sabaton. The drummer of Sabaton is Hannes Van Dahl, husband of Floor Jansen the lead singer of Nightwish. Tommy helped Floor with some (or all, not sure) of her recent covers on youtube during the pandemic!
Tommy has more hours a day/week than the rest of us have! His main job is guitar player in Swedish metal band Sabaton and if that wasn't enough he has 2 other bands as well plus he uploads a new cover on his TH-cam channel every friday! When Tommy begins to sing here he pretty much does it in the same key most people who do this one ends! His range is out of this world completely insane he as a man can go higher than some ultra sopranos can!
It still amazes me that he is 37 yrs old and 6'5". The other singers with this range are Sabastion Bach and Steve Perry. It was originally released on the 2001 Secret Garden album "Once in a Red Moon", with the vocals sung by Irish singer Brian Kennedy, and sold well in both Ireland and Norway.

Oh, yea! I was waiting for more Tommy from you! Thank you so much, he's amazing! Yes, you reacted to "She's Gone" (Steelheart cover) before. Would love to see you react to one of his originals, "The Light". I would sub again if I hadn't already!❤
@@AsiaandBJ The light 20 year’s celebration is a VERY good suggestion from Finn., it’s a a re-recording of an original song from Tommy (written at 14 first recorded at 18) that song and rendition totally knocked my socks off when I first heard it (to be fair .. it still does 🤣🔥😱)
I love Tommy .. this song though I think is just what the labeling says .. a challenge . I don’t think Tommy took it up an octave because it would get prettier that way .. he did it because it was fun 😀 ( the covers are a creative outlet between Sabaton and Majestica .. something he can do at his own choosing without syncing with others .. since he does everything himself) Tommy did an outstanding job here .. I myself love to hear a bit of Tommy’s lower range in his covers (it’s lovely) so this one just lacked a bit in that respect ( funny enough) I love “the light “ and “tell no tales” which are really high but they bring a little bit more contrast in range or roughness ) Tommy has a f2 to c6 recorded vocal range so he is a baritone, tenor and soprano in one 🤣 … but he is so much more than that .. personality and humor just radiate from him in every single song .. not to mention the multi instrumentalist that he is ( guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, flute and also learning the accordion) But Tommy fans are a diverse bunch .. not all like metal .. some hate pop , some love when it goes fast and heavy .. some love the cheesy songs from the 80th and some are just music theater fans . Tommy brings a lot of people to the same live chat every friday .. and that is great ☀️
"You Raise Me Up" is a song composed in 2001 by Rolf Løvland and written by Brendan Graham. It was first recorded by Secret Garden, in collaboration with Brian Kennedy. Although the original version was not a major hit, the song has since then been recorded by more than a hundred other artists, most notably American singer Josh Groban in 2004 and Irish group Westlife in 2005.

The 1 octave challenge means he is singing the song one full octave above the original, which is already hard enough for a male singer.
He did She's Gone. Josh Groban has sung this. Tommy definitely took it up a notch. He also plays the piano. Thanks guys
Not to mention, he is the lead guitarrist in Swedish Metal Band Sabbaton.
He got some talent indeed.
What is even more impressive is that is still NOT as high as he can go. He goes even higher in his solo version of Phantom of the Opera.
Yes, his Phantom cover is crazy good
Don't forget aces high , eagle fly free

@@AsiaandBJ You're welcome. Sometimes music is more than just a song... it's about the people who create the art!
That is the Power of Heavy Metal Music , welcome to my Metalworld for more than 40 years
Gosh Groban sang this song as did Secret Garden who are a Norwegian-Irish duo who also wrote the song. Love your reactions y'all!

Not entirely true.Tommy did make music for some of Floor's covers, but he had nothing to do with her album
Tommy also has his own band called Majestica (formerly ReinXeed).

Very impressive
He is from a small Town in northen Sweden
This is a 6'6 viking singing theese tones!
It's stressful for me as he hits those notes. God blessed him with this voice! I just tense up while listening to it.
Great reaction guys! The way you pronounce Tommy's last name is YO-hansson. #tommyjohansson
Like an angel 😅
I hope you check out Tommys cover of Thunderstruck, ACDC. It is great!
You should react to Tommy Johansson's cover of Ave Maria.
If you'd heard him,,ou'd know it.He reminds of Meatloaf. His vocal range I mean. Meat didnt play lead guitar that I'm aware of.
He the lead guittarist in sabaton.
Sounds impressive, I know a few version of this song, this one is great too. But I prefer the original.
Tommy Johansson - Eagle Fle Free(Helloween cover).
He is singing one octave higher than The original

I’ll never hear ABBA the same again.
Hint hint
I am the best sounding singer of this song. I use sign language instead of my voice. I might have made that up.
A bit ridiculous that you wouldnt have recalled him from your last reflection to one of his songs :-)
I think a "Seltecs" is the originals ...
Josh Groban is the other one. He sings the original version
Josh Groban did a well-known cover of "You Raised Me Up".
The original version is by the Irish-Norwegian duo Secret Garden.
Josh Grobin
Josh Groban !!!
I
Ts Josh groban
🇸🇯
You butchered liss lamst name lol read it like Yohanson
um...yuk, Josh Groban is crying...
I still love Josh Grobins version much better. This guys voice is to soprano to me
The whole point was to sing it one octave higher than Josh did as a "challenge". He normally sings lower.
This is good but Josh Groban can't be beat as the original.
I be with you when Josh do it in this octave.
This song was done by Christian artist with an alternate second verse. It was also done by Josh Groban who also has an incredible voice as well.
The live version of Paloma Faith “Only love can hurt like this”.
