- Google just had the I/O event on AI and it did not disappoint. This news comes to us on the heels of Apple finalizing its deal with OpenAI and the announcement of ChatGPT 4o. Microsoft and Apple have chosen their path with Open AI with no word yet on a partnership with Google Gemini. With Open AI's new search tool coming soon could Apple be abandoning Open AI all together?

I far prefer using private AI engines on my MacBook M3 Pro MAX than on my tower PC (that was needed to run the same LLMs).
What Google showed at I/O was not as polished as Chat gpt 4o

You missed some obvious points, Apple should be able to run local LLM's on devices going back to 2017 as this is the first year of Samsung having NPU's and the second year for Pixel!

This is why I couldnt watch the whole IO, first of all, i dont care at all, how googles stupid AI can sell me crap I dont need, but on top of that, I dont have an android phone, I dont use google photos or gmail... I have an iphone... The only thing I found interesting was those camera glasses she put on, not even a google product...
Okay! So we’re developing separate A.I. silos of data that don’t interact over time. 🤔. This sounds dystopian by itself, and over time we’ll all live in our own versions of reality.
we don't need a search engine anymore. I don't need a webpage to tell me the info I need at that moment.
For anything. ANy AI model will do. The singularity of it all. This will further isolate and separate humans from each other. Humans couldn't handle smartphones. This will finish humanity off. I'm not trying to be negative or cynical. I want to survive this with some sort of a decent life and lively hood. My career is extinct already. And every other career choice I can think of will be extinct soon. 2-3 years at the most. Look around. Already happening. This is dirupting our world like nothing we've seen before. WHAT are people thinking. This had to be done with more care and concern for the disruption, coming now, fast, and furious. Just how I see it. Families already closed off to each other on their smartphones and ear buds. Nobody talks anymore, an then we wonder why mental health is so bad right now. We need to reconnect to flesh and blood, intimate conversation and reasoned sdiscourse, and reconnect withnature. Else we are headed right into dystopian super combo of 1984, Brave New World, The Meta Matrix, and
The world is now properly hungry for AI. Therefore, virtually any company can "get" AI out there. Apple, with its iOS and advanced apps integration is best positioned to fully plug users into AI in everyday scenarios. I think we will see an Apple iteration of GPT-4o announcement before the end of the year. I would not be surprised if GPT-5 makes its first integrated appearance in Apple.
Android will never be better than Apple at the end of the day. Android has more phones, but they also have so many versions of their software to code for.
