Hey cool video, if you wanted to change the back up batteries due to failure, what would the procedure be? Is it as simple as just unplugging the old and installing the new?

What about the doors are the retrofitted or do you have to get new doors?

0:22 Not a big deal in that it will still work, but kind of a pet peeve of mine. That Rex motion is mounted upside down. The X-Y adjustment screws should face the door, not face away. I know why everybody mounts these backwards, its because more of the window is exposed making you think its more adjustable up and down wise.
This is a Kantech shown, but the Bosch DS150/160 motions even have an arrow pointing "towards door" printed on the mounting base and people still install it backwards when mounting on the ceiling.
    😅
Secondly, why is the reader on the hinge side?
Other than a couple rookie installation mistakes, you guys present a great customer intro to access control video👍

The Rex has arrows pointing down towards the door on the back plate when you mount it on a wall above the door, notice how the lens points straight towards you and now you can adjust it to swivel down, not up of course.
When you mount it on the ceiling you ignore the arrows as it doesn’t suit the intended application anymore, so you mount it with the lens pointing in the direction of someone attempting to walk out, free egress. You don’t point the lens towards the door, if the door is in a mullion frame with glass openings and a glass see through then now the Rex can possibly pick up a false input from someone on the other side of the glass, rare but it has happened. This is all common sense and logic, integration isn’t always straight forward. Not all “toward door” signs apply in certain applications, if you get my reference. Rookie for thought 💭

@@Maudires.to your point I’ve seen people at a place I used to work at slide 1/4” all-thread under the doors with a piece of paper taped to it to get the Rex signal to unlock the door. Kinda why some places use the hardware that has Rex built in to them and now they gotta turn the lever or hit the crash bar on interior to open them.
