Hi everyone! It’s been a looooong time since our last video and we’re so sorry! Thank you for sticking with us, we’ll try to do better and you won’t believe it but our next video is already scheduled 😃 As you all know this is filmed a while ago and a lot has happened since then with the biggest change in our lives is that baby Johnny has been born! The house has come a long way and we can’t wait to share the process with you. We hope you enjoy the video, let us know what you think 😁
Hello Nicky, Leigh and lil Johnny! No worries on the wait! We know you have a family and a life! I can only imagine how far along you've both have come along with the house! Johnny must be growing so fast! 💕 I bet he's quite the little character already with lots of laughs! ❤
House remodeling is always an adventure. You never know what's behind the walls or under the rugs; Take your time and enjoy the work even when it seems endless. Once you finish, you'll be able to look back and say I did this. In the mean time, enjoy the mess.
Magnet fishing to home renovation, there's no end to your talents. Although I would recommend you get a few more basic tools to help you, a simple hand saw, small lump hammer and a shovel will help. Remember that when you take out the heating pipes, set aside the copper to take to the scrap man, the galvanised steel pipes are not worth keeping, set aside any old wiring too. If your'e doing lots of demolition it might be worth seeing about a skip, it'll save you lots of trips to the tip! Congratulations on the baby.
Leigh, it always snowballs one thing leads to another but like a true Aussie you'll find a way and it will all come together slowly but surely. Sending you both a little bit of Aussie support. Love sharing your home renos. xx
Leigh and Nicky, I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting etc, yes I’ll put another in there and waiting. 😂 An electrician is expensive. I feel your frustration. I hope he did a good job on fixing it. Until next time, keep it pushing.
Congratulations on Baby Johnny (now 5 months old!!!). The house is certainly turning into a handful. I know y'all have worked soooooo hard on this renovation. I hope it turns out well! I guess we'll just have to wait until the next video to see (and the next, and the next lol)!!
My favourite scraggy haired Oz....and of course Delightfully Dutch Nikki ....you will get advice thrown at you from all over...hope you kept true to what you want!!!
Ha ha ha ! Our house is just like yours take one simple thing and it opens up 5 other prob 13:21 lems. We're all with you three, the end result will be a Beautiful family home !!! Much love to all of you❤❤❤❤❤❤
I forget where this house is but it's built so differently than American homes with concrete, brick, tiled, and wooden walls. It's like piecemealed together. You keep getting surprises when you tear something down. Seems like it would have been easier to tear it down and build a new one. I wish you nothing but safety and luck in your project. I'm rooting for you three. 🥰😘🤗🤙
Where's Wim when you need him, hi guys, great to see Nicky again looking and sounding more beautiful than ever, and yes that house has turned into a monster of an idea to "renovate", I'm sure that "one" day you'll finish it, just have no idea how long that will take at the rate you are finding new obstacles, good luck to you both and love to little Johnny xxx🥰😘💞👍👍👍💪
Thanks for the new exciting video! It might not be often, but it's still nice to see. I once helped tear down the old roof of my mother’s summer house. Stripping the old coating down to a solid base is always dusty and full of debris. But then you think: did I really do it! Moreover, there is always a temptation not to break anything, just paint it. And it’s hard to resist this desire :) You have followed a difficult but true path. Little Johnny will be proud of his parents 🌺
Leigh and Nikki! First congrats on a beautiful baby boy! You have done an amazing amount of work! Don't beat yourselves up. You found a house that ticked the important boxes for you and be kind and gentle to yourselves when you need to be. I just discovered your other channel a few days ago, which led me to this site and hang on!!! Cheers from Minnesota
Hi to you both ,Christine here from Great Britain,I know it’s going to be a long job and expensive, but just keep thinking how great it’s going to be when you have finished, your both great keep up the great work, love to you all xxx😁❤️
Watching the house progress is inspiring and teaches patience and keeping a good attitude even though constant obstacles are presented. I begin to wonder if it would have been cheaper to knock it all down and rebuild. 😉
Hi Nicky, Leigh and hello to Johnny. Great to see your video. Looks like a bit of a can 'o' worms, with that slab! Take it easy, work through it methodically and you will get there. Good luck 😀 carry on keeping us entertained 👍🤙🤙
Anything can go back together. Plus you have the amazing Hanny & Jack of all trades WIM BRO !. 😂 Plus if you have any questions about anything....just ask the audience Good luck pal.
Its always a hell of a Job. We did the same thing with our home. It takes us 2 years, each hole in the House was a rabbit hole… but in the End it was a Great journey. Keep up, but increase the pace. The buildup process will take much more time then the demolition.
I am really enjoying your renovation journey although I wonder if a demolition and a complete rebuild would have been easier although I’m sure lots more expensive too. Good luck with it all I will continue to enjoy watching.
Cc mes petites depuis combien de temps vous êtes sur cette maison vous avez vu grand personnes de votre familles vous êtes 🤔 bon courage pour la suite 😘😘😘 a Johnny ❤
My friends take a drill and drill about five holes in a line and use feather and wedges and chunk it out. This was very enjoyable video thank you for sharing six stars
Why insulation right there???---By the time of the final reveal, we're all gonna be so shocked at the results, having seen all the demolition!!!---Wow, cobbled together is right. Hanny will be impressed!
Oh bless you both. Thank for sharing another video guys. Slowly does it, you do one thing and 6 other things need doing... You'll get there. Congratulations on the arrival of baby Johnny ❤❤❤❤❤
Demolition is your "sweat equity"..lots & lots of work, but you're doing it the right way, so you won't regret when you rebuild!!! Thanks for sharing your journey!!! Can't wait for the next installment!!! Take care!!! 💚 💛 💚
Yikes! As soon as you start doing something it reveals other badly built bits! Putting in the hard work now will mean a much better house in the end! But I'm sure it's felt overwhelming at times. Thanks for this new update. Johnny must be keeping you very busy!
It’s about time I’ve joined the home thread 😊, I own a home in Florida and it’s fricking expensive. Good luck and if I were walking by, I would most certainly help. ❤ Magnets away!
I would salvage whatever I could to use again. If you are worried about money, this could probably help save money. It won't matter what it looks like because no one will be able to see it.
Keep chipping at it. Sometimes it will feel like you are getting nowhere, then all of a sudden, there is a huge step forward. At the end of the project, you both will have something you both love and feel an immense accomplishment with. Its going to be fantastic. Stay positive and keep moving forward. You will succeed.
OMG I remember the first place I helped my parents do it was a nightmare, well so I thought till your place came along. I don't envy you the work it's going to take to fix it. Watching this tonight gave me anxiety LOL bcos I was waiting for "things" to fall down. It's a huge job but you guys can do it. I wonder though if it's finished now or nearing completion bcos the babies born and a few months old.
Getting in over your heads? Lol. Understatement of the year. If I had to pick a next step, I’d go with getting a mason in there to explain the catastrophe you’re about to cause with that chimney. Seriously Leigh, if you’re standing at the fireplace knocking bricks out with a sledgehammer when it drops, you could get crushed. Get a pro in there NOW, please. Your son and wife are going to need you in wage earning condition from here on. Oh, and I repeat, the roof is outside. Ceilings are indoors. Nicky got it.
Just think with all this hard work, how amazing your place will be once you all get there. Plus, you have the help of others as well. I'd check with Henny on the cement fireplace base if you haven't already. I cannot wait to see more. Good luck to you both!
Congrats on the baby! Yay! How many more months of reno left? Show us some renderings unless you have already shared that. Im sorry if i missed. Would love to see. Best wishes!
You're doing great! Even though you're still in the 'rip 'n tear' phase it's still progress! A year from now you can look back with pride that you made your house perfect for you and your family. Like others have mentioned I'd love to help out, but I'm a continent away. Keep up the great work and keep us posted with updates when you have time.
Guys, just a suggestion, but what if you rang up building constructors, different services & ask for help in return for their publicity/advertising. You have a large following m8
Hi, Nicky and Leigh. Thank you for posting another video (spoiler alert: I do remember seeing you both in front of the house in a later video from the BTH channel, so I know you're a lot further along than the next lot of videos will show). It's always the way when attempting renovations on older houses that you will find 'other things' that need attention. I enjoyed this update. There was a lot of work done. Thanks for sharing 👍

Is there anyway you both can show us baby videos ? PLEASE 👍👍👍🥰🇨🇦
Always clean up at the end of the day , it makes working the next day alittle better knowing you are coming into a clean reno.
if you find some gold bars with your Bondi magnet you can hire contractors to do your whole house.....wishing you luck buddy 🤣🍀🍀🍀🍀
Not me running to drop that thumbs up for that hardworking bit of insulation. 😂
It did a great job! 😂💪
This is not a renovation - its a complete rebuild!
House remodeling is always an adventure. You never know what's behind the walls or under the rugs; Take your time and enjoy the work even when it seems endless. Once you finish, you'll be able to look back and say I did this. In the mean time, enjoy the mess.
So true! It’s a hell of a project but we love it because it’s our own house 😃
Bonjour a vous deux et merci pour votre vidéos et bon courage pour les travaux
Merci Laurent! 😃
Don't worry guys, you'll have the reno's done by the time Johnny goes to university 😂
😂😂😂
You need to find the movie called the money pit...it will make you feel a lot better!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Donna
The dreams and hard work will pay off. Imagine, someday Johnny will be watching these videos and seeing the before and after. Enjoy
Hey Leigh, that's a crowbar you fished out with a magnet! You're both gorgeous! Keep up the good work!
At last a new episode
We're so sorry it took us so long! Hope you enjoy the new video 😃

Sawzall and a baby sledgehammer.
I'll refer you to the words of Peter Gabriel ... "Sledgehammer"
I'm so looking forward to seeing everything come together ❤ love to you both
Well do our best to upload more often and show you the process 😃
@@NickyandLeigh I completely understand life with a new baby is crazy I remember it well 🤩 hope little Johnny is well ❤️
I loved the bit of 🎵synced editing when taking off the wall panels! Good luck to you!
It's a ton of work but, you will be so glad when you're done!

Good luck with your patchwork house ❤
Thanks so much for the video. Can't wait until we see what the house looks like now. Also can't wait to meet little Johnny. Congrats by the way!
That fireplace gives me nightmares!! The thought of using a jackhammer when a stick is holding the chimney up!! 😮😮😮

You both said you fell in love with the house . Is any of what you fell in love with still there? 🤔😂
Not me scared to death that the cracked concrete wall is somehow holding up the entire house. 😂

It always , always , always a headache but you will be glad at the end when it’s done ! Thanks for letting us follow along with you guys ! ❤️🔥
It just makes you want to jump in and help!
Nicky and Johnny are the most important thing now. Maybe friends can lend some hands to get this reno finished. Take care!
Was waiting for a new video 🙌🏽

Coming along great! Be careful you don't remove the beams that hold the house up. I'm sure you and your guys know which ones they are.
Always easier said than done.
What a huge job. The state of that concrete is a real worry. Champion effort, guys. I hope it all starts to come together for you.
Last video I reply, a dust mask has longer straps. Next video I watch he has one xD... Love the videos btw!
Watching the house progress is inspiring and teaches patience and keeping a good attitude even though constant obstacles are presented. I begin to wonder if it would have been cheaper to knock it all down and rebuild. 😉

Good luck pal.
The advantage of renovating is that you can live there as you wanted after the renovation.
Exactly! 😁
I just hope the house was reasonably habitable for when all three of you moved in !
LOL "Saved by the Bell!!"" made me Giggle, Thanks i needed that!!
I remember when I was a young first time buyer, spent way too much renovating 🤣

O M G 😅 I'm curious to see what it looks like when it's finished 👍🏻
As long as you are all happy and well, that's what matters. Great to see the video update though xxx
Get Wheim to come over and get that concrete slab out! Lol
Wow looks like you guys build a whole new house. And eventhough it looked like you didn't break down the old one, it allmost looked like it
Hey, good to see 👀 all the different jobs you are tackling there, Leigh. What's your list ? Do you need a RENOVATION a THON ?
I am really enjoying your renovation journey although I wonder if a demolition and a complete rebuild would have been easier although I’m sure lots more expensive too. Good luck with it all I will continue to enjoy watching.
I really enjoying the journey ❤
Concrete walls with cracks in might jut need filling. Demolition isn’t always the only option.
Cc mes petites depuis combien de temps vous êtes sur cette maison vous avez vu grand personnes de votre familles vous êtes 🤔 bon courage pour la suite 😘😘😘 a Johnny ❤
Welcome to house ownership ...the plumbers just got out of my house after 4 hours ..... , last month it was the roof :_:
