Hey Dr, listen you should do more videos about how to cure sibo, common mistakes, go over the medicines commonly used, common symptoms, if this then that…. Ive had hydrogen sibo for 4+ years starting at 19th old. I’ve watched every sibo video online, and I like your idea for the channel, but it just isn’t giving enough info or specific info about sibo and how to cure it. I bet you are extremely knowledgeable on sibo but these videos need to be more specific to help people like me. Just a suggestion, thank you for all the info that you have put out.

We have an excellent patient education program, which does provide more specific information about treatment of SIBO - you can find it here: www.thesibodoctor.com/sibo-success-plan/

I don't really know what else needs to be said. I had a big health scare last year (brown urine for two weeks, couldn't eat for 3 weeks due to excessive mucus and my stomach felt like it was on fire), and the previous guests helped a lot in diagnosising my infection. In particular, the Portland doctor who spoke about sulfur sibo convinced me to do a meat-only diet with supplement support and it seems to be working. The conventional doctors weren't helpful, so I mostly had to treat my illness alone.
Thanks for what you do and I'm glad you make these podcasts easier to find with TH-cam.

Yup, Dr. Google is what helped me figure out what my issues were. MD's did jack-sh*t to help me. Even ND's were next to useless. Figured out it was SIBO, took the antibiotic protocol and got my life back. Now working on figuring out underlying cause. Looks like low stomach acid.

I was diagnosed with IBS last year. But it wasn't extremely problematic... Intermittent and occasional diarrhea, constipation, bulky, light colored, malodorous stools, gas and bloating. I am very health conscious - eat nutritiously, exercise daily, and drink plenty of water... I have eliminated suspect foods. About 10 days ago, I started having severe constipation out of the blue, it lead to hemorrhoids and I am miserable! I have made an appointment with a gastroenterologist. ( my primary care doctor has been basically ignoring me.) In the meantime, I have done a lot of my own research and strongly suspect SIBO... I will have the doctor do the breath test and labwork to check for gut microbes and gases like methane, etc.

Hi! A topic I would like information on is what to do if you're not tolerating antimicrobials...they cause lots of diarrhea, but you've already done rounds of Rifaximin and the sibo is still there.

Would your treatment for IMO change in pediatric patients? My 7 y/o daughter was diagnosed with it this week after 7 months of chronic mild/moderate abdominal pain. She has had 2 prior abdominal surgeries (the second due to adhesions caused by the first), so the likely culprit is additional adhesions which cannot really be "healed" so I hope we can at least rid her of the methane that could be causing gas pain. The first thing her GI did was prescribe metronidazole.

Hi, Rowena here from The SIBO Doctor. The evidence suggests that the effectiveness of Rifaxmin is increased with concurrent administration of Partially Hydrolysed Guar Gum (PHGG), however, we recommend starting with small doses, as it is not always well tolerated by everyone and in some cases, is best left until after treatment has been finished.

I’ve been having stomach issues since I was 15 . I’m 46 now . No doctor has ever helped me . Just anti acid and prescription for ibs and gerd . Always had issues with acid reflex , really extreme . And constipation . Stomach issue run in my family but no one has had positive results from doctors. 2 years ago I got to where I seemed allergic/ intolerant to all my foods . Went to the doctor, no help so I figured it out myself . Was fine for almost a year and lost 30 pounds . Then it hit me again and gained weight back , get tired, migraines , nausea, bloating , pain etc . Someone told me the other day maybe gallbladder . Everytime I eat I’m a mess even fuzzy thinking , get super cold , tired like my blood pressure lowers Idn just guessing . Last year for 3 months my hair just started falling out . I now have about half the amount of hair prior to falling out. Does any of this seem like it can be my gallbladder or SIBO ? Please let me know I’m exhausted with all this ! Both these issues sound like they have what I’m fighting. I’ve been trying to change eating , do research , take herbs etc . Trying so hard to figure this out, it just keeps getting worse the older I get .

This sounds a lot like what I went through. My whole family has stomach issues too so for me it was ‘normal’. My family doctor never thoroughly investigated my stomach\gut issues either. I found a great naturopath in my area and after trying an elimination diet, which didn’t have the results we hoped, she then referred me to a clinic for a sibo test. It was a take-home test. I tested positive and I’m so relieved I finally have an answer and can start healing. Try a naturopath if you haven’t already because they place much more attention and importance on gut health as per my personal experience.

Hi Christine, please read this: You most likely have a HISTAMINE or TYRAMINE INTOLERANCE. Have you also been experiencing insomnia during these periods? It can be a consequence of SIBO. I'd suggest you read about this.
I'd suggest you take a SIBO test (all three gases; hydrogen gas, methane and hydrogen sulfide), and also a histamine and tyramine prick test at the allergologist/dermatologist. The latter test shouldn't check for wheal intensity, but for the duration it takes for the wheal to disappear, that's very important information. Only go to one that is knowledgeable about histamine/tyramine/-amine intolerances. It's one of the only clinical ways to test for it.
      In short:
Your body produces histamine for a lot of bodily processes. They are both a product of immune reactions as neurotransmitters. They bind to neuroreceptors that regulate A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF BODILY PROCESSES. From the skin, to the heart, to your digestion system, to you central nervous system.
Normally, your body can get rid of histamine by means of an enzyme, called Diamine Oxidase ("DAO"). If your body somehow produces too much of histamine, or doesn't produce enough DAO, you will get excess histamine, which disrupts these forementioned bodily processes. This can make you dizzy, brainfoggy, fatigued, insomniac, cause you stomach problems, skin issues, heart rhythm problems, even bone marrow problems.
Your small intestine produces a lot of DAO. If the cells that produce this are damaged, you might produce too little of this enzyme. Also, food that has been fermented also contains it, as bacteria can turn histidine into histamine. The same goes for tyrosine being turned into tyramine because of bacteria. If you have too much of these bacteria that can do this, and you consume a histidine or tyrosine rich meal, you might get a reaction. And given that a lot of food contains this, it might explain why you think that you get a reaction from "everything".
      Foods to avoid are:
      - All cheeses, especially hard cheeses such as parmezan
      - yoghurt
      - processed meat
      - meat that has been slaughtered longer than 2 days ago (most supermarket meat is older than 10 days (!!), so buy from a local slaughterhouse)
      - All sea food
      - citrus foods (as they don't contain neither histamine nor histidine, but cause your cells to release the histamine already contained in your body)
      - lots and lots more. Look up a food guide for these intolerances
Don't dispair, most likely you won't have to follow this diet for the rest of your life; often it's a consequence of gut problems such as SIBO, hence why I suggested you take a SIBO test.
Good luck, and I hope you read this.
